Why do people like Tim Tebow?

Another NSer who can't admit he is wrong....I'm sure you could do much

better, so i understand. If he ends up as nothing, i'll tell you i

believed in him and i was wrong.

But i guess the 95 yard drive wasn't impressive, you're right he's

nothing, sure he might have gotten some help from his receiver on that

one throw, but maybe if he got help on other plays you'd think he was

good.

Yes it was impressive and he led the team to another win which you cannot complain about, but if you look and all of his throws in that game it was bad. Once again he missed wide open receivers, had underthrows, overthrows, and bad decisions. He obviously right now is not a NFL type quarterback but he does get the job done. You cant give all the credit to him considering the defense played amazing. If someday he learns how to throw and read a defense then he can be a really good quarterback considering what he can do now.

No, that 95 yard drive was impressive, surely. I never made claim that that wasn't...

but if he was really a good QUARTERBACK he would have completed more than half his throws in the game, and Denver would have put up over 30 points, rather than resorting to a last ditch effort to win the game. A good last ditch effort that succeeded, but none-the-less I'm not impressed enough by Tebow to relinquish my overall doubts.. especially when that last drive seemed to be against a pop-warner defense half the time what with how lethargic the Jets D seemed to be at that point.

My overall point is, the defense played well all game, and the Jets were anemic. Without those two factors there's no way Tebow's 95 yard drive at the end there would have made a lick of difference.

Congrats, Denver won... but saying Tebow's game is the reason Denver won is downright horseshit. To me, he's a Kordell Stewart or a Jay Fielder... and that will show it's face very soon.

So I have read absolutely zero of this thread, so I'm just going to jump in like a page 4 noob and assume I know what everyone is saying.

The guy is religious as fuck, which for me is kinda creepy.

He sets him self up to be this perfect man, which is why people want to see him fail.

and lastly the broncos are on a roll with him as QB including beating the jets (though the jets are quite possibly the most over rated team in all of football)...but last time I checked there is only one real statistic that matters in professional sports and that is your Win - Loss record. The more W's the better it doesn't matter how it gets done.

and one more.

I do not believe in Jesus, but I sure as hell believe in Tebow.

No, but the Defense held the Jets to 13 points (not that that's SUPER hard) clearing a path for Tebow to have that clutch drive against a tired defense that was throttled just 4 days prior by a REAL offense. He wont be able to do that every week, because Denver's D, as well as it's been playing, will have to go up against some much stronger competition in the coming weeks.

I expected the Jets to fail hard anyways. That team's offense is downright useless.

Its truely amazing the amount of people who think Tebow does everything. He did not win the game for them. Yes he led the game winning drive, which is where I am giving him credit, but he didn't win the game. The defense did. They forced about 4 three and outs where the Jets had to punt and the gave us the ball on the 50 yard line, and with that we did absolutely nothing with and gave the ball back to them. Our defense forced 2 turnovers, they got 1 touchdown, had 3 sacks, made the jets settle for 2 field goals where they could have scored touchdowns, and made them punt 6 times. Im not saying Tebow sucks but his offense did until the last drive. We had to punt 8 times which is terrible. Tebow led the last drive which was cool, but the defense won the game

Exactly this. If he's so amazing why did the offense only have a field goal prior to that game winning drive...

Tebow is 4-1 because Denver's Defense has been playing fantastically as of late against some mediocre offenses (and that include's Oakland's since they were without McFadden and Palmer had only been with the team for like 2 weeks - but then again McGahee and Royal were the stars in that contest..)

Haters gonna hate, the guy is 4-1 enough said, he gets wins, you can't win a game with just defense. That's why there's two sides to the game. He might not be the biggest contributor in a game, but he has done his job, and his job in winning.

Yes, I agree that denver's D has been playing great since tebow has been starting.. but I think that tebow gets his team going pretty well. Thats why people like him. Sure, he may not be the best QB but its the drive in him that wins games

Tebow does not shove his religion in your face he wore John 3:16 on his eyeblack but he was not getting on a soapbox preaching saying he was right and your going to hell he was merely setting a good example. Is wearing your area code shoving where your from in your face? And Tebow has made some horrible throws but he finds a way to win. The man takes more criticism than anyone i know and does nothing but work harder and never complains. Why would anyone want to see a man like this fail? Tebow is a winner and will figure his passing game out, give the man more than 5 NFL starts this year and with his work ethic I see his career going only upward from here. Sure he may not be a hall of fame qb but he's not the worst player in the league like Merrill hodge likes to portray

I like how you say HE gets wins. The man does not get wins HIMSELF there are 22 players on offense that contribute the same amount he does. HE does not get wins the teams does...

HE does get wins haha......yes HE gets help and his team wins as well, THEY win, and HE is a part of the team, so HE gets a win.

And i guess there's 22 players on offense...

he man does not get wins HIMSELF there are 22 players on offense that contribute the same amount he does.

You said "The man does not get wins HIMSELF there are 22 players on offense that contribute the same amount he does."

But i guess i'm the dumbass

I ment on both but your like all the other Tbow fans who dont see the countless mistakes he makes that an NFL quarterback wouldnt. You see one good thing and you think he is the greatest ever...

Remember when the lions mocked the shit out of him "tebowing" when suh did it after a sack?

it seemed like nobody cared that he mocked his prayer which is basically like mocking christianity.

How pissed would the world be if tebow was any other religion and Suh mocked it.

The dude is a straight up nice guy and class act. I don't see why people want to see him fail....and yet people have no problem cheering for michael vick....and a few weeks ago chris cook (corner for the vikings) strangled his girl friend....and I got buddies that are all wanting to see a guy like tebow fail, yet when cook screws up they are like "ha oh well just another thug"....people are fucked up.

again why would you ever want someone else to fail?

Tebow is the fucking man, he's a good straight up guy, and he deserves credit for what he has done. I agree he isn't amazing RIGHT NOW, but i believe in him and i think he can do it. And right now even i think he is doing fine, people just love to hate him, and there is no reason to.

People also love to love him. I do not hate the guy at all. Yes he is a good fellow and and he works hard, but what I am just trying to say is he is not playing as good as everyone thinks he is. He misses throws that all other NFL quarterbacks wouldnt. If he developes his gaem he will be good. He isnt yet

I am an unabashed tebow lover...from his freshman year at florida all the way till now. I actually met my best friend when we almost got into a fist fight over who was gonna win the heisman, dennis dixon or tebow. I think he is a great quarterback, and a great leader, and i think that he is an incredibly valuable addition to anyteam.

But the people that say he is going to develop into a good passing NFL QB are just wrong. he lacks every single physical skill you need to be an NFL quarterback, and he lacks many of the mental aspects too. He lacks the talent based aspects of the game, these are not things that he can learn. You can learn good footwork, you can learn good mechanics, and you can learn the playbook. but you cant teach someone to an athletic, or intangible skill that they dont already posses. you have to work with what he has.

Whatt he is great at doing is being Tim Fucking Tebow...and that means motivating, trucking, and winning. Dont try and make him into something he is not. He is not, and never will be a great passer. BUT he has the ability to change the way that we view the QB position in the NFL. He isnt traditional, but if coaches work with what he does have, and i believe he has a TON going for him, i think he could be very good. the odds are very long that he can maintain his winning ways, but god dammit i am rooting for him.

no matter what people are going to come up with bulshit reasons as to why they think he sucks, because they cant admit that they are wrong. but the kid is a winner, we all know that its ugly but somehow it works. as a lifelong broncos fan, im just glad to have something to cheer for again

As a life long Bronco fan you should be able to admit your quarterback blows as a quarterback but happy that you are winning games. Stop giving so much credit to Tebow and stop overlooking your team's defensive play over the last couple games

ill admit its a full team effort, and hes not a pretty qb, but there is something about him that, brings the team together, our d has been great lately, that same d was nowhere to be seen in the orton days. they have a renewed erergy with tebow. so no he does not seserve all the credit, its the team. but whatever IT is he has it his temates have said it many times now, they love the guy and i do too even if his stats are shit, although theyre better than elways first 8 starts just throwin that out there

i dont want him to fail. and tebowing is not mocking christianity, its mocking tebow, because i know NOONE who even remotely takes that position to pray.

and if he were another religion, people would probably care more, right, but rightfully so. christianity has long enough been no. 1 so it can definitely take some more criticism.

idk about cook, but how the society treats vick and roethlisberger is like we would be in the 19th century. vick hasnt harmed humans (to me that is not something worth mentioning because i love animals) and roethlisberger probably did some illegal shit with that girl and somehow evidence disappeared.

but now, for most people vick is the least liked player in the league whereas roethlisberger is everyones darling.

i need to recheck their colors just to make sure.... ah ok, vick is black.

Reporters/Analysts do look at the team's success when a QB is starting, so yes to an extent he is 4-1. I am not saying he wins every game himself but there is something that Tebow has as a winner which brings out the best in everyone else on the team. You cannot take that away from him. People will Hate Tebow no matter if he goes undefeated and wins a superbowl. End of story

He may be a good guy, but that doesn't mean he's a good QB. Frankly, I think he sucks. Yes he "finds ways to win" but he does it by using screens and having the RB run half the plays. He'll last half a season, and probably become a 3rd stringer for like the Titans or something.

How is that mocking Christianity? It became viral, the moment that happened it wasnt Christianity anymore it was "tebow." Yes it is him praying but if you say Suh mocked Christianity so did the entire interweb. And I think if the media got off his dick less people would root for his failure. People dont want him to succeed because he is not a good quarterback and all of ESPN is on his dick

a qb doesnt make the whole team shut the fuck up about the record, kyle orton AND tim tebow are shitty quarterbacks who got stuck with good teams (orton with the bears when they went to the super bowl)

LIke him or hate him....Tebow is 5 - 1...

also everyone knows the NFL is rigged, don't be surprised if you see tebow and the broncos in the AFC Championship.

and that's that. broncos went from being absolutely miserable, to actually having a chance this season, and more importantly fun to watch again!

and overall the WHOLE team is doing there part for these wins.

haha im stoked for tebow and all but seriously the chargers are so stupid their coach and rivers are fucking terrible.

I think people are tired of hearing about the Denver Tebows. Orton would have won the same games with the way that defense is playing right now. Credit is going solely to Tebow though oddly...look at the ESPN headlines and front page. It's insanity.

Since the win record is so popular, Orton went 6-0 when he started. Tebow had better learn to throw a freaking spiral because I don't know if their defense can hold teams to 10 points against a good offense. You can't get lucky with missed field goals every game.

No he wouldn't have.....team hierarchy and culture in the NFL is largely transcendent of who your QB is. With Tebow playing the defense and team has become far more inspired then they were ever with Orton as a QB. Orton is an emotionless NFL mercenary who never developed any camaraderie with Bronco players, Tebow is nearly the exact opposite.

If you think this is a moot point then just look at the Cots.

But I do agree the Tebow hype is over the top and I think this week there will certainly be more praise of the defense, at least locally here in Colorado.

No way, with the amount of turnovers orton was giving up, there's not a chance.

Trust me though, i was an orton fan this year and was pretty upset when they benched him for tebow. In the end the tebow's the man and all his teamates will agree, he gives the whole bronco club inspiration! And it's been awhile since we've seen that
