Why do people like Tim Tebow?

He works for Denver because they have no line and he can extend the play. If he was on a real team he probably would suck horribly. I'm a gators fan so I am glad he is doing well. But damn he needs to learn how to throw a spiral. Should be an interesting game tonight against the jets.

#1 Underthrown

#2 Overthrown

#3 Way Underthrown should of been a pick

#4 would of gained 1 yard and they would have had to punt

#6 Holy shit a 5 yard throw with no one in his way on a bubble screen... I could of done that

#7 What the fuck

Overall very shitty and a good quarterback would of hit most of those throws

Haha there is proof in a video, most of what is says on the video is true, so many of those should have been caught, you just like to hate on him. You won't ever admit you're wrong, and you can't give credit where credit is due.

Alright maybe you could have completed the 6th pass. But how about you go through college, get drafted get a starting chance in the NFL and then when you do all of that prove you can make the simple pass.

Better thrown spirals are caught, that's what he's saying. Receivers need to catch anything, but why make their job harder?

And your second point....how much weaker can you get with that?

Other people who did exactly that:

-Matt Leinart

-David Carr

-Brady Quinn

-Joey Harrington

-Akili Smith

-JaMarcus Russell

I think Brady Quinn is the only one on that list who didn't get drafted top 10. NFL=/= college.

Adjusting to a ball doesn't mean it's over or underthrown dummy.

Stop being a Tebow hater. He has more drive and determination than 99 percent of the players in the NFL. He WANTS to win. Tonight we'll see but I think people are going to be really surprised.

Obviously NFL doesn't equal college. I'm saying that i would like him to prove that he could make that pass. And to prove he could he would have to be a stud in college and then get drafted to the NFL. Then he would have to actually get into a game, and then make that throw.

I'm still amazed that people think they know Tebow is the hardest worker in the NFL, as if no one else is trying or wants to win.

No, if a receiver has to come back to the ball that means its underthrown... Stop being on Tebows cock like every other Denver fan. All of the 31 starting quarterbacks want to win as well. Im not hating its just that he really is not an NFL quarterback

Couldn't have said it better myself, that Flames kid prob has a TeBow shrine in his room. We'll see next season how Tebow does and if he improves but as of now we'll see how he plays tonight...and then make more comments of Tebow

honestly after reading his book, just the kind of person he is makes me like him. im not saying he's a great nfl qb but i root for him now because of that

You do realize that quarterbacks like to throw receivers open, right? You lead them to an open spot.

Real quick poll, how many people in this thread played quarterback at a high level? those that did, tend to appreciate the unique skill set that tebow does have.

HOWEVER, i think tebow just throws it in the general direction of the receiver, and lets god take care of the rest.

Well when I read that exact quote in the Denver post I think I did okay, but you seem to have a lot of knowledge on this.

My orignal statement: After deservedly earning a third string spot on the team after preseason, Tebow told interviewers all about how his childhood dream of becoming an NFL QB was "grabbed away from him" and how he should be the starter.

Exact quote taken directly from the Denver Post:

The Denver PostBroncos quarterback Tim Tebow. Woody Paige this week talked with Broncos second-year quarterback Tim Tebow. And for the first time, Tebow revealed an edginess, some frustration and even anger. “My dream, since I was a young boy, of being a starting quarterback in the NFL seemed to be coming true,” Tebow said in an exclusive interview with Paige. “Then, I felt like it was grabbed back away.”

Responses to this were all of Sportscenter for about a week, mostly professional players saying he had a lot of nerve to say that.

Let's agree on this. No one is saying we hate Tebow as a person. No one is saying we hate Tebow as an athlete. No one is saying the dude can't run. What we are saying is his passes suck dick and he is a liability in a legitimate offensive system

It was a topic for a day and a half, and most people agreed it was an honset moment from an extremely competitive guy. FAR, FAR from what you had originally made it out to be.

Did you ever play a sport at a high level? were you ever a competitive person? If yes then you understand exactly where he was coming from. he was not throwing his teammates under thhe bus like you try to make it seem, he was venting his honest frustration when asked by a reporter.

Where does he say that he should should be the starter, or anything disparaging about his teammates? where? stop it.

Truth. I don't like what he said at the beginning of the year but I think it's fair to give people some slack once in a while. Every celebrity says something stupid sometimes.

This offense is not (to quote Steve Young) "sustainable at this level". The Broncos aren't going to get any better like this.

Ya, I pitched on a state championship baseball team until sophomore year, 2 time state champ cross country team junior/senior year, and I swam at sectionals every year from 8th grade until I quit in college.

I never bitched when I was the 8th fastest person on the team and had to run JV that week. Don't play this game, you know that was a childish fit that he had to take back later. I already said you have to let it go sometimes when people mess up what they say.

Let's look at what's going on right now. 4th quarter. Broncos have 130 total yards, 6 first downs, and the defense has their only touchdown. Tebow has a passer rating of 54.6. Good thing the Donkey's D is playing really well holding the Jets to only 270 yards of offense so far

sounds like you never played at a high level, you were only around those that did.

so why didnt you let timmys quote go? it was a long ass time ago, he meant something different from what you interpreted, and he never trashed his teammates.

but seriously, this is why i love him. he is like a Rudy character. There is no way he should be able to do the things he is doing, because lets be real, he isnt a freak athlete. All he does is WILL his team to victory on a rediculously frequent basis...

The Broncos just won because their defense held a severely overrated Jets team on four days rest to 13 points... I kinda expected this to happen anyways due to the circumstances

Tebow went 9-20...

Try going 9-20 against healthy, rested, GOOD teams and you'll get shattered.

yah for winning football games with less than 200 yards of offense.

but hey, the broncos are getting lucky as fuck. eventually it's going to run out and they're going to lose like 4 straight. you can't continue to win games when your running back picks up like 20 total yards and your qb throws for like 100, consistently having less than 10 completions per game..

ugh.... excuses. i dont think he's that good... but there is just something about him and his determination ive never seen before. you know it. i know it. admit it.

9/20 for 100 yards. Palmer went 14/20 for 300 yards. You have to average more yards than Tebow does if you want a chance. The Donkey's D isn't going to play like that every week

Oh my god, give the guy fucking credit. he's 4-1 he's real, now admit you're wrong and get over it. You know you'd be saying something similar if they lost and he sucked.

Tebow gave them the win on the last drive. You can't even take that away from him. Haters gonna hate, and Tebow doesn't give a fuck what you think.

yes he played well. but people always forget that he started last year and didnt do much.

again, they win games with him, no question.

but what about sanchez? a pick six in such a game? where your D does everything in idk how many possessions?

the last drive was awesome. as were the last minutes against the dolphins. but the rest of his playing time in those games were flat out awful.

idc if he throws or runs, seems like he wont get hurt too fast, so whatever, but what is he doing 55 minutes of the game? the jets game shouldve really been something like 20-6 at that point as the broncos did horseshit on nearly all of their possessions. they even get a fumble on a KR and had to punt.

i have to admit that i couldnt imagine that the broncos beat the jets and for some reason all of that stuff works quite well, but when the important games roll around, he might need to play full 60 minutes.

and give the broncos D some credit. pick six and keeping a not overly bad offense to 13 points is also a way to win games.

I kinda like that he keeps winning these meaningless games against shit opponents, it makes Broncons fans chug that koolaid without realizing how bleak the future really is

im not positive but the jets are 1st in their deivision? if not they fell behind the pats, and are now in 2nd.

i think we can all agree that tebow is by no means a good qb, but he gets that team so pumped, and same with the fans. and the o-line on the broncos is horrible, and a qb who cant run (kyle Orton) is screwed, tebow can extend the play and sometimes they get really really lucky.

and the afc west is the shitiest division in the league so the broncos actually have a chance of making the playoffs.

playing devil's advocate: it was his first year in the nfl.you can hardly judge a career off of the first year. Lots of historical examples of bad first years and amazing careers. not to say tebow will have an amazing career, just that it's not fair to say he's bad because he played bad last year. Learning an nfl offence and nfl defences takes time.

uhhh you're wrong on both counts, they were TIED for second at 5-4 coming in while the Pats were 6-3. they're also crumbling and had to travel halfway across the country on the lowest amount of rest allowed by the cba. fuck with someone else.

Dude i dont think we should be talking about Tim Tebow anymore cause clearly he's not good but he's getting things done (Winning football games) Denver might even grab 1st in their division as well considering all the injuries on oakland. I think we should be talking about WHAT THE FLYING FUCK happened to Mark Sanchez because he is fucking awful, kinda feel bad for Holmes and Plaxico.

Just gotta love a 240 LB QB who will run your ass over!

You know why I love Tebow? On the winning 95 yard drive, he ran for a first. Most QB's would run out of bounds after they got the first with defensive backs closing in. Tebow lowered his shoulder and ran over the DB and still got out of bounds to stop the clock. You could just see the look on his face. It was like "you can try to tackle me, but I'm going to make you hurt for it". I love seeing that in running backs, but it is pretty rare and awesome to see a QB doing it.

Yes, he only throws well when he is rolling out of the pocket to his left. He will figure it out.

Lol. I'll give the defense credit. holding a team to 13 points is doing your job well... and for that, Denver should be stoked.

Tebow and Denver's offense weren't that spectacular, in all honesty against a pretty poor, and tired Jets D.

But of course, it's Tebow, so everyone is giving him mad cred for being what's basically a wildcat back...
