Joe gets up at 6 a.m. and fills his coffee pot with water to prepare his morning coffee. Joe can afford the coffee because corporate loving rich Republicans exported our jobs overseas with NAFTA and CAFTA.

With his first swallow of coffee, he takes his daily medication. His medications work because money-grubbing Republicans refuse to place price controls on drugs, thereby allowing pharmaceutical companies to earn enough money to pay for the extensive R&D and take the risks necessary to create miracle drugs. But the drugs still cost too much because government mandated health insurance has artificially increased the demand for medications with no one to police the prices, but that’s OK since Joe’s Bush-supporting bossman pays all but $10 of Joe's medications.

In the morning shower, Joe reaches for his shampoo. His bottle is properly labeled with each ingredient, none of which are damaging to his skin because some animal-hating sadistic corporations paid some scientists to swab the shampoo in some poor rabbit’s eyes. Just for kicks.

Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some dollar-worshipping conservative developers built some nice houses with pretty yards 15 miles from the industrial sector of the city, and Joe drives his comfortable and affordable “Japanese” car made in Georgia without the inflated cost of union labor, and Joe can stop on his way home to pick up a package of reasonably priced T-shirts at the evil Wal-Mart, instead of having to park his car and take a filthy subway to pay twice as much downtown.

Joe begins his work day. He has a good job with excellent pay, medical benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because his parents instilled in him the value of hard work so he studied when he was in school and learned that he could get by just fine without relying on the government. Joe's employer pays these benefits because Joe's employer doesn't Joe’s a valuable employee and Joe’s employer doesn’t want him to go work for his competitor. If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed, he'll get another job pretty quick because he’s a self-starting go getter who has a lot of friends at church and from college that he can call to find more work.

It's noontime and Joe would need to make a bank deposit but doesn’t need to go to a bank because evil monopolist Bill Gates helped make computers useable to the general public and he can automatically pay bills thanks to the economies of scale of Bank of America or Wachovia installing the expensive equipment to allow Joe this convenience. While Joe's deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC, Joe doesn’t have to worry about Democrats in Congress pulling the rug out from under the real estate market again like they did in the 80s. At least Joe hopes they learned their lesson.

Joe pays a low rate mortgage because Americans voted for that war monger Ronald Reagan in 1980 and Bill Clinton had the good sense to reappoint Alan Greenspan. And Joe can afford a nicer home, not only just because of the low mortgage rates, but also because he gets to keep more of his hard earned money because Republican Presidents in the 1980s and in 2001 cut his taxes.

After work this evening, Joe plans to visit his father at his farm home in the country that Joe’s dad still owns because his landed-gentry Republican County Commissioners have refused to steal his land in the name of a higher tax base.

Joe gets in his car for the drive because the government added additional lanes to the local highways that people actually use instead of throwing money away on a regional rail system that studies project people would little use. Joe gets to his house in record time because death-loving Republicans allow you to go 65 and 70 mph, and you can because pollution loving Republicans don’t make you plug your car in overnight so you can drive for 2 hours at a maximum speed of 20 mph.

Joe arrives at his boyhood home. His was the third generation to live in the house, but he doesn’t because when his grandparents moved to the United States they learned to speak English and didn’t spend their time complaining about how the government wasn’t doing enough for them. The house didn't have electricity until some military-industrial power company plopped a big ol’ nuclear power plant over by the river.

Joe is happy to see his father, so they go to the local bar and enjoy a beer and a cigar, where Joe’s dad tells him that if the estate tax is repealed, Joe can keep the farm in the family for a fourth generation and won’t have to sell it to pay the taxes.

Joe gets back in his car for the ride home, and turns on NPR. The reporters keep telling stories about how bad corporations only care about profit and that higher taxes will allow the government to “invest” in our future. They don’t mention that the beloved Democrats have vilified the very people who have provided us jobs, good and services from their small businesses and big companies.

Joe agrees: "Those evil corporations don’t care about the little guy, all they want is to pay their executives huge salaries and steal oil from the middle east. Why can’t we be like Europe where we can work 30 hour weeks and get a month vacation? Bastard rich people only care about themselves."
 
These two paragraphs are bullshit. Pharmaceutical companies VASTLY increase the cost per pill. Look it up. And the ingredients listed are only non-toxic AND now animal safe because activists forced companies to list ingredients used to make sure the consumer could see what they were putting on/in themselves. These were Liberal doings, not Republican doings.
 
Also, ATM's run on proprietary software and run on bank-specific independent OS's. What we should be thanking is At&T Bell for creating the Unix software, but that was open source and given away for free.... Also, there were many computer companies that made PC's available... Microshaft just happened to turn out a more affordable, user friendly product before the rest, creating a monopoly that actually DID damage the computer industry until the early 2000's. You still only see 2 major processor manufacturers and 2 main OS's in the American Markets. Automatic banking is an amenity, not a political idea, i don't even....
 
I know you don't stand behind this, and I agree that both sides are stupid, but This is just dumb. At least half of it made no sense or was bullshit. The other one is simply better, and smarter.

 
The parameters of modern day political debate are FAR too narrow for me to even concern myself with such petty jabbering.

Let me know when we start talking about bringing down civilisation and how it can be down with as less loss of life (human and non human) as possible. It's gonna happen so lets start thinking of ways to help.

dude seriously chill out. 50% tax on those making more than 300k a year is not unheard of in this country, maybe its harsher than you want but a graduated income tax is an absolute necessity. there are tons of americans living below the poverty line, and while i understand republicans' skepticism of simply throwing money at them, its better than nothing.

for an industrialized country, we hardly pay shit in taxes. and when theres several BILLIONAIRES in this country but tens of millions who cannot even afford health care, i think its societies duty to make the rich pitch in more.

It is one thing to spend a lot of money to rebound the economy but when that fails your double fucked because your farther in debt and you still havent fixed the problem. And why should being successful be looked down upon in this country, its THEIR money that THEY earned or inherited, not some asshole who is too lazy to work.

I think they should drug test those who collect welfare and I would like to see how that works out for them. Throwing money at people who are too lazy to work for themselves isn't going to fix anything, which most liberals I have ever spoken to think is the solution to this problem. And yes I understand there are those that are truly needy/handicapped but for those who aren't I have no sympathy on you.

 
Yeah, with the unnecessary government programs that we have created, it is completely necessary to have a progressive income tax system. However, many of the programs that have been created have been completely unnecessary and unconstitutional. I can not see why anyone would think a progressive income tax is a fair method of collecting taxes. It is necessary, but for all the wrong reasons. In a perfect world, we would have a fair, flat income tax rate.
 
how about when he gets laid off his job, can't afford his mortgage, then you lose your house. you sure as hell are going to benefit from the leftist commie fucks re-distributing wealth so your newly destitute family can enjoy things like shelter and health care. i understand that you may be privileged and therefore it is extremely difficult for you to understand who really benefits from taxes. but at the same time had you been born into an immigrant family who makes under 20k a year and who really benefits from taxation on the rich you would have a different opinion. your opinion merely reflects your current circumstance in life, doesn't seem to be thought out. obviously the rich want less taxes, they want to keep the money they worked hard for. but that being said there are cab drivers who probably are uneducated and work just as hard, if not harder than your father who depend on the money your father is taxed to live. i can't really sit on either side of the taxation fence because i don't know what it is like to have my parents be unable to provide basic necessities for me. when i get my paycheck at the end of the week though i do not like losing money to taxes, but you have to think where that money is going and who it is helping before you immediately jump to the conclusion that liberal commie fucks are stealing your money. in theory, libertarianism is great. so is communism. yet in practice, posed with the complexities of human society don't work at all. the system of graduated income tax is simply the best we have. not every person living below the poverty line is a lazy drug-addled welfare collector. they are hard working people just like your father who got dealt a bad hand in life. you think that liberals are entitled because they collect taxes? look at your post.

A graduated income tax is not stealing from the rich. After it the rich isn't left not wealthy after taxes. To think that we have such a deficit and yet Bush's tax cuts are still in place simply makes me ashamed of my country. People still can't afford quality healthcare in this so-called "greatest country in the world".

Welfare programs are so challenging for me to pick a side because there are people out there that really need the money, but there are welfare slugs that make me want to cut social welfare programs. So for me I can't really say which side I am on, but I do believe that taxes are a little out of hand. I think if we really want to start cutting taxes we should be taking a look at social security because that is a program I do not want thousands of my dollars going into. Let me invest my own money so I don't end up with 80% back of what I put in.
 
idk if cab driver was a great reference... do you know how much it costs to get a cab medallion?? $600,000+ in NYC. ha i certainlly can assure you that they are FAR from poor. And if someone who has $600,000 saved up is getting welfare checks, the system is flawed, im sorry, but it is.

but lets be honest i agree with you 100% but to comply with reality, id absolutely have to agree that not everyone on welfare is abusing the system, there are most definitely people who absolutely need it and use it as it was designed. BUT there are most DEFINITELY (try to agrue this to those who may be more left sided) people who abuse the system and just fucking blow the money on whatever they want(i.e. nothing to help them sustain their own living). The government shouldnt make welfare a more appealing choice than getting a minimum wage job, thats where the problem is. Also, i had to get a drug test to even apply for my job, why shouldn't the people on welfare have to do the same? after all it is their source of income.... i honestly dont see the problem with that.

you got my point anyways. and im sure the cabbie's six hundred grand is not his personal expendable funds, cab companies are corporations who may loan and subsidize their drivers. no one with 600 000 grand in the bank is on welfare. its people who make below a certain amount yearly, somewhere around 15 - 20k.

If they pass then great, collect your check for the time being but if they don't, your shit outa luck. Simple concept not a stereotype and misconception.
