who loves hunting?
i just got back from a mule deer hunt in eastern WA
took a freehand shot at a running buck it was so big there's a pic of it i found of one like it but i missed then later i wounded a nice size 3 point but literally 4 seconds after some old guy shot it from the road. i was heated

I have a bow and go deer hunting a little bit. It seems boring as shit but becomes worth it when you hear deer footsteps, see one, draw back and miss like I did. Its pretty fun between when deer season opens and when ski season opens.

yeah cause im to big of a pussy to go to a store and buy a steak that was killed in a crowded inhumane slaughter house. Think about where your meat comes from and where i get mine then tell me whos is more innocent

well as long as you use up everything and worship the animals dead body i guess its okay.

[sarcasm] yeah, because hunters just go around and kill helpless little animals then leave them to rot.

its not like hunters process and consume the meat or anything, [sarcasm]

shut the fuck up before any more retarded shit comes out of your mouth.

no no no..... as long as you sleep in the dead carcass to keep you warm like Luke in Empire Strikes Back.

Get off your high horse. I'm planning on getting my hunting licence soon so I can eat food that I kill. I feel like that's better than eating a cow pumped with hormones and fed with grain that could be used to feed people that are mass slaughtered. In the meantime, I try to only eat free range and organic beef, and to support local farms.

I respect people who hunt and then eat the animal that they kill. I don't agree with game hunting though, and just killing animals in game reservations.

If you have eaten anything outside of a head of lettuce and cabbage then you are a hypocrite.

And that is sick dude. Deer is so tasty.

I have a fair amount of friends who hunt. Personally, I hate hunting, but I never grew up around it, so it's just how I was raised. Sounds like a good day though.

Gayest sport ever. How badass do you feel when you sneak up on an animal and shoot it when it can't defend itself? Rowdy shit dude.

I live in the North Maine wilderness. I go hunting almost every week.

This is a picture of my brother's moose with my dad and grandfather from 2 years ago, 995 pounds gutted, we got 700 pounds of meat.

This is a picture of my moose that I shot last year, 550 pounds gutted, ~200 pounds of meat.

Moose meat is thee best! :)

Hunting is not a sport to everyone. To most it is a way of life. We eat about 50% wild game in our house. Its the most healthy protein you can get. Plus i imagine a wild animal got to live a hell of a better life, than some livestock raised in a pen.

100% wrong.

in fact the animals die a lot worse in nature rather than getting killed by a hunter.

imagine starving of old age vs a quick death.

hunters constitute for 6% of natural animal deaths.

just went open season of white tail deer for blackpowder. we could have shot a doe. she was standing in front of us about 30 feet away. would have been my first deer kill ever. but we dont have a doe tag because we arnt quebec citizen. Only bucks.... :( next time

Yep, I have elk, deer, antelope, halibut, and salmon in my freezer. Other than hamburger and bacon I dont think I bought any other meat from the store this past year.

Bullshit. I acknowledge that animals are meat and meat can be consumed by man. What I don't agree with is hunters getting a sick thrill from killing an animal just minding his own business worried about his actual predators. Like a bear or some other animal higher on the food chain. Not some mind-blowing metal lightening bolt searing through his heart at any moment of the day.

Hunters don't you dare give me this bullshit, "I'm feeding my family, I eat what I kill" I don't give a shit. You're still killing another animal mainly because you get a fucking adrenaline rush by putting a bullet between a living creature's eyes. If you're a poor ass hill-billy living out in the country off the land, sure, do your business. But when you can just hop down to the local mini-mart and pick up a couple of steaks yet you choose to gather up the boys and shoot some shit, that's where things go sour for me.

We have evolved past the need to go out and hunt for our meals. We have animals bred solely for us to eat. While you may that think that method isn't humane, hell even I don't sometimes, it's still all the animal has ever known.

Meh I think it's more humane to kill an animal out in the wild where it is free and living off the range than breed an animal just to be killed. If you think the adrenaline rush of killing the animal is the best part for most hunters you are mistaken. For me its about getting out in the wild, waking up early, walking up in the hills/forrest, watching/stalking, then going for the kill. I go days without getting anything, its a waiting game really and not for everyone.

I, go deer hunting cause I personally feel deer meat tastes better than the cow you get at the grocery store and it is generally much leaner. Tastes better too.

ok seriously though,

most hunter are killing to feed there family and mostly all respectable ones eat what they kill so im giving you that and its not bullshit . sure we get a thrill but like a said before you get a thrill from fucking your hand. And bears? really? do you think if hunters werent around all these animals would get eaten by bears? thats what all the deer in the state of WA are scarred of ? bears?
also i think if a majority of the people killed there own food we'd be better off as a country in not taking so much stuff for granite

You have no fucking clue what you're talking about. Many hunters don't hunt for the "adrenaline rush" Many do it because it rewards patience and they get to consume what they have hunted. It's not unlike fishing in that sense. The "rush" doesn't come from killing the animal, it comes from the satisfaction that your hard work has paid off. And just so you know, we are on top of the fucking food chain. You know why? Because we have tools. Look at how we evolved. Our eyes are on the front of our head, not the sides. We are predators that have evolved to use tools to facilitate in killing our prey.

And why would someone go down to the mini-mart and buy food that is A) Not environmentally sound B) Inhumanely treated and killed and C) Less healthy for you?

I kill, maybe one or max TWO deer a season. It is all you need to supply good venison steaks and other things for a couple months if you store it properly.
