Hunting

I love hunting. I squirrel hunt almost every day and deer hunt a lot also. It is pretty boring but it pays off when you actually get something good. Hunting with a bow is mad fun too. Got my first squirrel with a bow last saturday.

Alright I'll concede that point that it isn't all about the killing. But why not find an activity that gives the same satisfaction up until the point of death. Maybe paintball, or even airsoft.

Because that does not result in food. It's violence for the sake of violence, not killing for food and for satisfaction. It's a worse principle.

Fuck you ns, my whole reply just vanished when i hit reply.

Now, my 2 cents. Number one deer is yummy as fuck. So is duck, and any fish other than catfish.

Number 2, hunting is legit, as long as you are gonna eat what you kill. Go catch some fishies, go kill some bambi, or duck, or whatever. But eat what you kill. Its fucked when people go out to kill some deer just to put its head on the wall, or hang some bear pelt on the wall or use it as a rug. That shits just unnecessary and ridiculous, and its fucked up that people get that much of a thrill outta killing something, and then claiming the shit out of it.

Number three. For fucks sake when you hunt, dont cheat. Im not talking about going out there with nothing but a knife and a loin cloth and jumping outta trees on deer. But honestly, quit with the electronic fish finder bullshit, or spraying yourself so you smell like a horny female deer looking for a screw. At that point your making it so damn easy, its not even fun anymore.

Go out there and sit in a tree stand all day, or in a boat all day, and wait for whatever critter your trying to kill.

No, you don't get it. The act of shooting something isn't where the enjoyment comes from. The enjoyment comes from shooting the deer, and then all the hard work and patience paying off with a great meal of venison. If I wanted to shot someone, I would go be a mercenary in Africa. Paintball is fun, but you can only do it so much.

last summer i was working on a few wells in one of those fenced in pay to hunt type places, and as cool as it was to see huge deer up close, thats bullshit and takes all the sport out if it

there were deer sitting 20 feet off of the two track we were driving down, not the least bit alarmed by our presence

yeah wtf is that shit? cool you can drive a fucking car up to a deer and shoot it at point black. wow, so much skill dude....

lol.

did it ever occur to you that this also controls the EXTREMELY HIGH deer population in some states. you are a fucking idiot man. back in the day, you would be one sorry ass mother fucker afraid to kill an animal to feed your family. And my dad is a DEC officer and he says that alot of people that live around here (upstate ny) hunt soley for feeding their family. As opposed to buying 30 or 40 dollars of meat each week, you buy a gun, license, and some bullets and get it that way. dam your ignorant.

If you live near or on campus you have to check them with the coppers, and the process to get it out of their cabinet to go hunting is such a bitch and so much of a pain it isn't worth it.

ah. we arent allowed to have handguns in the dorms/on campus, but you are allowed to check rifles at the desk. you just cant bring ammo in, or the guns up in your room.

I can't even have my paintball gun with me. Granted, my paintball gun looks like an MP5 with a silencer, BUT, still.... it has a fucking hopper on it. And they won't even let me keep that in my room.

Eminem ruined it for everyone. Shooting people with paintball guns from his car. THAT FUCKER!

I brought mine with me last year and was almost arrested when I left the building to go paintballing with my stuff.

Crock pot is the best way. Cook it all day, sometimes you can cook it two days. The meat falls to pieces, is really moist and juicy.

I have always known hunting as a part of my life. My dad, who's been hunting since he was a kid, goes to bed anywhere from 9-10 every night to get up anywhere from 3 to 5 the next morning to hunt just about anything thats legal. He will chase ducks, geese, woodcock, pheasants, grouse, turkeys, deer, and even elk on his yearly trip to montana.

Also, my dad isn't limited to one weapon. He practices archery daily, shoots rifles and shotguns and even uses traditional black powder. In my house, beef from a cow is a rarity and we have 3 freezers full of game. We've had guns around the house for as long as I remember, and so toy guns never really meant much to me. "never point any gun at someone in case its loaded" sounds stupid, but it makes sense and when other kids shot eachother with cap guns, I was always a little apart. You just learn to respect them from use.

However, my parents are both registerred democrats and we live in Rhode Island, not exactly a hot-spot for hunting. If there is one thing that pisses me off about the stereotype of hunting, it is the "disneyfied" image that is broadcasted to liberal americans. Hunters are often the most outspoken conservationists, not just the beer drinking buddies who go into the woods to blow anything that moves into smithereens.

This past weekend, I got my first woodcock in vermont and it was lot of fun. Of course, it was my dad who filled the limit, but it nice to tour the swamp with him.

I just talked to someone who goes bear hunting, bear hunting is not chill. Bears are sweet. Hunting anything thats not endangered that your gunna eat is fine. People hunting bears makes me fusterated

How did this turn into a moral debate? Hunting sucks ass because it's boring as hell. Wild game is delicious, and guns are fun. Now shaddup, all of yous.

My dad and brother hunt, along with a lot of other members of my extended family. i have nothing really against it morality wise, as long as you keep and utilize most of the animal. Personally though, hunting is just not for me. For some reason i just can't bring myself to kill another living thing, and i especially wouldn't be able to gut the animal. i feel like the only time i could do it, is if i was dependent on hunting for survival, besides that i just can't take any satisfaction from killing for fun.

My brother did try taking me hunting once however and i had the time of my life. i decided before had that siting in a tree stand was going to be boring as fuck, so i went out and bought facepaint, army outfits for both of us, walkie talkies, a bottle of liquor, and an eighth of weed, and we pretty much spent 4 hours army crawling though the woods, playing hunters.
