Anyone camping/wanna camp at Mountain Jam? Might be able to get a cheap 3 day + car camping pass but none of my friends wanna join

I know I talked about going solo being fun haha and I'm sure I could hang with neighbors but 3 days alone might be different

How cheap we talking???? I bought a thursday only but me and benedetto would camp the 3 days if the price was right for a pass!

Yeah thats an onion article. it was posted last night. Pretty funny, but you know some people will take it the wrong way

for sure. I have already seen people discussing it as truth on FB

WHAT?!?!?!? YOU MEAN ITS NOT REAL?

JKJK

I've been joking about that concept for 3 or 4 years. Think it's funny that the onion wrote something about that as well as festivals in general.

Went to Mysteryland during memorial day weekend which was a blast, my only complaint was that unlike bisco or Hudson which I went to in the past, it was strictly electronic but Gramatik played on sat and Dillon Francis surprisingly killed it on the main stage. If you like electronic music they hit every genre really well and their was a lot of diversity in that scene. I like him regardless and i've seen him a bunch but his new shit is fire live.

Really wanna make it to Bisco but I have a real job now and I cant get the time off :/. Im gonna make it out to Electric Adventure for a day to see Pretty Lights if anyone else is going and trying to get hammered and gamble after.

How was Mountain Jam for those who went?

I went thursday night solo and had a blast! Great music and great vibes. I felt at home at mountain jam! Also, compared to the last festival I went to (ML) everything was fairly priced.

Then, on Saturday benedetto and I hiked the hunter Mtn fire tower and found an optimal viewing spot to see rebelution. Shit was a great time! Ben has the pictures on his phone and will share. We almost bought saturday tix but they were wayyyyy too pricey. The spot we found to watch for free was well worth it though!

Awesome time hanging out up there. Buying a 100 dollar day ticket is overrated.

This is dope, did you just hike hunter or is their a trail? I would totally do this next year but was the music loud enough?

We hiked a trail up the backside that goes to the summit and a fire tower. There are multiple ways up to the summit (4010') and to the top of the ski hill (3200'). It's popular for backpackers too with lean tos and plenty of spots to camp.

I forgot to mention the music. We were able to hear the music pretty good. It made it better that we had a band in mind we were trying to see. Knowing the songs helps because the words aren't always clear from up there. It would not be a way to see a band you haven't seen before. Camping up there and seeing a show from that view spot would be sick as fuck at night. moe. from up there with the lights would have been crazy. People at the fire tower mentioned people hanging out at the summit and listening so we're not the only ones who thought of it. But the spot at the top of the ski hill we found over looking the bottom was tits.

I was just watching a Mister F set from Disc Jam last year on YouTube and this caught my eye. This check is festival battle ready and holding skis on her back pack What in the actual fuck? Please come forward and explain, thanks in advance.

wow that's awesome guys. I ended up not going cause I only would've been able to get one cheap ticket so no one wanted to join me. Rebelution was actually the main reason I wanted to go Saturday but I agree that $100+ is way too much for 1 day. so sick you guys were able to see the stage and hear enough

It was extra hard paying the $100 plus fees knowing this festival is next weekend and only 80 beans. Come through.. Saugerties, NY is chill af

Thats real cool, im gonna look into that for next year...

Totally woulda camped and saw PL there last summer if i knew that was a thing. His light show and speakers would be sick from up there

If you do that again next year I'm down to join you. Fucking over mountain jam. Wasn't going to go back but went for the day this year to see RRE and moe. had a good time but that fest is kind of meh.

Would rather not go in and camp in the woods.

And mister F are my boys, love those guys. Don't really see them play much anymore though. Just been out of the loop. Glad to see them expanding their touring base.

Figured this would be the best place to post this. If any of you were at Sasquatch this year, more specifically the Odesza show and got a photo or video of me crowd-surfing a giant inflatable turtle from the back to the front, it would be greatly appreciated if you could post it up somewhere. My friends and I were a little too fucked up to remember to take pictures haha.

So pumped to go to this festival this summer. Looks like the best festival in Ontario by far and a cheaper, and better lineup than Osheaga. I am fucking stoked.

Definitely man I've been checking them out on YouTube. Tons of bands on the line up I'm excited to jam to for the first time. We were considering doing Saturday night at disc jam since they added one night camping for 60 but going to wait for next weekend. If twiddle was Saturday that would have sealed the deal. If you haven't checked out electron before that is going to be a fun set!

That's awesome man! Where was this festival? I'm so happy that in Austria there is a good Techno scene evolving right now, but I'm still waiting for Koze and Tale of Us.

Pretty pissed I cant go to that anymore. Ive been wanting to see widespread for a while now. Umphreys killed it at the waterfront in Burlington last summer.

It was near Lincoln, which is close to Manchester. Tale of us were fantastic as usual but I've seen them do better. They were playing at 7pm so it was still very bright out, which didn't really go with their deep dark techno. Jackmaster was on after, between them and Koze and it didn't quite fit. He was playing his usual upbeat techno and disco n shit which is great, but it should have been him to get things going, tale of us to take it down deep once the sun set then Koze to pick up from them and go where he took it. It started off really dark and industrial then went more melodic and synthy, and he ended the festival with a Sufjan Stevens track haha. The visuals of the festival were unreal too, will post some photos when I'm not on mobile.

Sounds good! Yes I can imagine Tale of Us playing more in the 2-4AM area, but either way that's cool. Yes post some pictures please.

I don't know any of those DJ's but found out that I highly dig techno at the last festival I went too (Mysteryland) so that sounds awesome.

On a another note, I'm listening to Lespecial at my desk at work right now and its great. Excited for Cosmic next week

I remember Richie Hawtin the most. We were at that set and thought, "this is exactly what the doctor ordered." Changed my whole perspective on EDM. I don't know the rest of the dj's because there was a techno tent and we just checked it out a lot. I'll for sure check out those dj's. We did miss Adam Beyer which everyone said was amazing

1000th reply! Getting stoked for Bisco I'm ditching grassroots in Tberg for it(I've gone since I was a little mid). Hopefully I'm not dissapointed

Mammoth Fest this weekend was pretty rad. First night was a free Whitewater Ramble show, which was basically all the locals (aka i knew everyone). They rocked some bluegrass Dead covers, Althea was the best. The 2nd night got evacuated because of lighting striking near the venue so Grensky Bluegrass was delayed an hour and there was zero security, so I walked straight through the back bar with a friend and got to see em for free. Since it was stormy an hour earlier, all the Denverites had left, so again it was all my friends. They cracked down on security the last night so we just listened to Tedeski Trucks Band from a swingset next to the stage.

If you're questioning going to a festival, FUCKING GO! You'll have the time of your life as shown by me:

We were at Cosmic Alignment this weekend in Saugerties and that was a great time. The smaller fest always have great vibes and everybody is instantly friends. It was my first time seeing Lespecial and consider the source. Both awesome and I can't wait to see again. Space Jesus and Cosmal were fun. All the music was jamming and chill as fuck! And I may have a new found interest in art...

Not necessarily a festival but I'll be at CoSM this weekend for the summer solstice gathering and I'm too excited

nice! please tell us how that was! Ben and I were thinking of heading there for their monthly full moon gathering but were not sure what to expect. We got to see Alex and Alyson Grey a few months ago for a live podcast taping and I really want to check that place out.
