haha I was, the rail jam was so bad that we all decided to ski down croyle. I got into a huge fight with one of Boyd's cronies over it but the ski patrol let me do it because it was impossible to get hurt.

Ive got a meeting with ian the marketing guy next saturday. My friend is really good with coding and computers so he asked josh boyd at open house if we could help with marketing and he said he would be fine but he would have to ask ian.

I know nothing about park, but if me and my friend get the job, then we will keep the website updated 3x as much as it is rn. One of my ideas is making a snapchat account because a lot of places have that. Also the twitter gets used like once a month. I never actually got a meeting last year. I want go keep the general public out of the dark as to whats happening, especially in the preseason with snowmaking. Lots of terrible rumors spread.

I will say that if they ever need me to get out the shovel then i will do it within reasonable hours.

damn, I hope you get it because they really do need some help in that regard. Communication has been shit since the old gm who used to put out gm notes every few days during the season. It's looking like I'll be at bmbw for at least dec and most on jan

I talked to josh boyd, here is the deal. They hired somebody over the summer who just graduated from Akron and he is gonna help ian with marketing. Therefore, i obviously cannot work in marketing if they just hired somebody full time. I had a nice talk with Josh. He seems like a nice guy so idk why everybody hates him. We started talking about peak resorts and stuff. I asked him about snowmaking and he said that if I wanted to then i could help the crew out on a friday night for a few hours if i wanted to which is awesome. Sorry that I cant help with the communication issues, but i will be in rentals at bw. I may switch to lifts since josh said they "cross train" a lot.

The employee was impressed with my enthusiasm and knowledge of skis and said he would strongly suggest that I think about working there. Apparently every Saturday we gather in the basement and talk about the industry for 3 hours which sounds interesting. I decided to not work there since it is too long of a drive to make 3 times a week. I am just going to work rentals at bw since it is easy and right near my house.
 
Ive been talking to the new marketing guy on instagram for a few days and he seems awesome. He said he is gonna do a vlog every few days in the season

Yea seven springs had good temps this weekend too.
 
take this with a grain of salt but the new marketing guy told me that they are getting new rail features in the mail next week and that "the park guys are pumped about this year so I am not over hyping anything about this." He didn't even know what a 270 off was, he called it a 360 so he may not understand what good features are, but he is going to drastically improve the social media relations and said he will be doing giveaways and stuff. He roasts ian when I talk to him its really funny.
 
I went to Brandywine today to turn in some paperwork and none of the snow gun padded covers are up, they are stacked into massive piles. The snow cats were just chilling on the concrete under the deck and they weren't even on the tracks. I saw a truck drive in with around 30 of those yellow lift line dividers.

haha I hear a version of this every year. I'm pretty sure the park crew is an absolute skeleton of what it was when I was in high school. Don't get me wrong, I'll still be around bmbw on and off this year but I've given up having any sort of expectations for them.

My parents are screwing me again. Last year they told me no more park. This year they tell me to go get a job. I go get one. I tell them im working 20 hours a week. They tell me its too much time and that i cant work. I already owe them $400 cause i got new skis and goggles. I literally cant even with them. I hope i can get my supervisor to give me less hours but i doubt that will happen.

Seven springs is getting some really nice snowmaking temps the next 5 days. I can almost guarantee they will have something open on black froday. Most likely a rail jam but you never know.
 
My predictions for midwest resorts near us, holiday valley and seven springs, and maybe pknpk will be open by december 3rd. Mad river has a chance of opening then too if they make snow this weekend (which i doubt it cause its peak resorts). Bmbw is hopeless and will be lucky to open december 10th. They will probably be lucky to open by christmas again. So basically nothing out of the ordinary lol. My first turns will either be at mad river or in colorado which would be really sad.

For the last 3 years straight, my first turns have been in Colorado/Utah. It's really a bummer when you can't warm up your legs at all before going out west, but it definitely happens. Keep an eye on Springs, last 2 years they've done something over Thanksgiving but I don't hear anything about it this year.

For once I'm not very fixated on opening dates, as I'm a captive prisoner until finals wrap up on the 15th

Im going on the 10th cause its my birthday and a lot more stuff will be open. I will have enough birthday money to afford it. Plus it won't be icy af from the rain.
 
I went to Brandywine today because I had to quit my job. There were some pretty big new features, from a distance I think I saw a giant donkey dick tube and a triple waterfall. Don't quote me on that cause Josh was hanging out over there so I didn't want to go anywhere near him. I went to mills right after and it is a giant disaster. Apparently the whole lodge flooded and the entire thing is under reconstruction inside. I ran into the operations manager for mills and talked with him. He said that they will have the lodge ready in time for opening, even if they have to "work around the clock". To me, it made me seem like they are in no rush to open at all. Looks like all of our pre-Christmas skiing will be at Mad River Mountain.
 
Looks like the weather is gonna start turning the right way for snowmaking by the end of next week. I'd love to not have to miss another whole December of skiing this year!
 
Some people think they will be able to crunch enough out to open the 11th. I hope so but I think they will open the 16th. I have my money for mad river on the 11th. Its included on the pass this year which is nice.

This weather keeps getting better and better for us. I think alpine has a good shot at Sunday the 11th, 60%. Mad River i have at 80%. Bmbw i have my money on the 16th. Hopefully this lake effect hammers us.
 
Holy shit, I get out of school for the semester on the 15th. It would be miraculous if bmbw could open by then.

Also, I thought I broke my toe a couple days ago, but it is just very sprained. Ski season is saved!

I think they can open mills by the 17th.
 
Snow trails announced they are projected to open on sunday. They are having discounted lift tickets. Pressure is on for the local resorts.

I can't even go considering I've invested so much in my trip out west in a few weeks. But I always love it because you know Josh Boyd feels the heat

I talked to the pr guy and he said they are all opening next weekend. Mad river is still debatable since I haven't talked to them and they have the best weather.
 
Peak resorts did it again. Mad river isn't opening until they have 100% of terrain covered and a full park installed. They claim it will be all worth it for us. I call bs and say they didn't train the employees or something.

yea they will forsure be open by then. Rumor is that they are trying to open alpine on sunday. I think it is very possible based on the lake effect coming in and the snowmaking temps forecasted.

Don't worry about it. It is super hard to explain my reasoning with predcting things but i am 99% sure they will be open next week. Really it depens on temperatures. At 10 degrees they can make 4-5x more snow per minute as at say 27 or 28.
 
Bm will easily have enough snow to open sunday but they are waiting to open the full resort i think. Rumor on the street is that on saturday night they are announcing that alpine will open sunday since they are getting over a foot of natural snow.
 
Oh hell yeah. This is the motivation I need to get through these last 4 days of school. Also I saw those new rails they were working on. They do look nice
