Ask me for longboard Advice!

expensive bearings are really only worth it if you're racing. otherwise, the speed difference isn't really worth the price. i usually roll with abec 5's or 7's but i have used 9's and 11's.

well thats just an off deck POS, off whheels, trucks, and bearings. I would highly advise you to stay away from it.

Get a supermodel topmount with caliber 50's, 81a abec 11 flashbacks and however much you feel like spending on bearings

If you're gonna be tech sliding then theyre the best. dont get them and put them on your s9 pintail to showoff your Mayd syick standies.

thanks. i have a perfect setup for cruising already, so i was considering putting together a dedicated sliding/tech board an putting these on it. I've looked at a bunch of reviews and i think I'm going to pick them up when i get some money

Don't use them for DH. They're tech sliding wheels, made for boards like the Landyachtz Loco series, Earthwing Drifter, or Comet Shred Series. You will die if you use Slide A's or any other tech slide wheel for DH.

i wouldn't really use them for DH. i don't have hills big enough to top 35, so i was looking at them for a easy wheel to slide with. my town sucks. i would probably also get a different set of wheels too, if i did decide to do DH or just cruise. cruising with 101a would suck

I just got my Bustin Maestro with paris trucks. Ive ridden it probably 15 times so far and not that hard each time and now the trucks are squeaking really bad, How do i fix this problem?

take your hangar off, put soap shavings in your pivot cup, put hangar back in, apply downward pressure and wiggle it like a madman for about 2 minutes.

dooo notttt get a dregs. dregs snap from normal riding. they just blow.

also, riding style is needed

So i have been boarding for a little over a year now and have noticed that there is a slight amount of wiggle room with my pivot cups on my oldest pair of trucks (gullwing chargers). What will the benefit be of buying new pivot cups, how much and what kind of cups would be good, and how will i know when it is time to replace them?

well you're always gonna have some wiggle room unless you have precisions. But your cups do sound worn especially since gullwing uses a really thin, low cut cup design. The benefits are added response, stability, quieter, and all around more comfortable. Id recommend replacing them with some Khiros, hardness depending on your weight, and riding style theyre very cheap btw. Id replace them whenever you start to actually NOTICE the wiggle room in your daily riding

what do you mean by style... And i wont be doing really tough things with it, ill just be crusin around places and small carves

looking for a longboard for carving and possibly learning to slide this was my current plan: loaded vangaurd, holey trucks bones reds and abec 11 78a flashbacks ? weight 70 kgs and 183cm

harder pivot cups will be more aggressive but more restrictive and uncomfortable for racing n such.

Get soft ones

if you are planning on sliding and want a loaded go with the dervish, the concave profile is much better and Drop throughs slide easier. Get 81a flashbacks as well.

not set on loaded just as a first glance, pretty set on trucks and flashbacks, reds but what other deck would you recommend ?

I've been wanting to build myself a little shlongboard, something about the penny nickel size. i had a good idea for a press. have a flat piece of base wood on the bottom, all of the veneer and stuff the decks made out of, then some more flat large pieces of wood on top to distribute the weight. then jack up a car that isn't used much, slide all the stuff under a wheel, drop the car back down, and use the weight of the car to press the veneer together. do u think that would work well?

well just for reference, a Shlongboard is a skate deck that has the nose/tail drilled out for trucks.

anyway, suprisingly, a cars weight is not enough to press a board due to the only force on the wood really is the force coming from the shocks and struts.

i get the whole picture and stuff but honestly, ive never just cruised and stuff. Plus i like indie, and wear helmets(;

Not necessarily, too much pressure will force too much glue out and there for not have a good bond. You do need quite a bit, for a basic press you can use 3 or more car jacks depending on the length of the deck you want to press. Example:520181.jpeg

You can also use air and run hoses under neath the lower part of the press and raise it to the stationary top portion.

thats an interesting pic. I'm just cheap and looking for something like that pic. been surfin the fish for a little looking at building stuff

true but short skate decks require alot less presure then longboard decks, depending on the deck of course.

when i press freeride decks I put as much force on them as i can.

whats a good cruiser/commuter board for not that much money? im going to college next year and would like something to get me between classes and around town. nothing serious

if you get one of these, DONT get kahuna creation wheels. And be prepared to look douchey as hell (theyre rasta)
