Ask me for longboard Advice!

got a ly drop carve a couple weeks ago (Fiberglass), stock with Bear 852 Trucks, Abec 7 bearings and 70mm Mini Zombie Hawgs Wheels, if i were to get any new wheels, bearings or bushings, what would you recommend? im 5'11 170lbs and just will just love cruising around carving out of hills till i get better

I am 6 foot 180lbs and need a smaller sized longboard (portability is key: not like penny board sized as my balance is not the greatest, but not a huge board that will be a pain to bring into class and keep in my dorm room) that i can cruise around my college campus from class to class on. Many of the walkways that i will be riding on are brick and stone surfaced, so it wont always be the smoothest ride. Any advice you could give me regarding what type of setup to purchase would be extremely appreciated. Thanks bro

First off, what is your price range. As that will be the indicator of what kind of board. You will llikely want Caliber 50 trucks (very good trucks and not expensive), and i would suggest any wheel with a hardness (durometer) of around 78a or softer (higher the durometer value, the harder the wheel) if you are going to be strictly cruising, as these wheels will be soft and will take form to the surfaces you are riding on best. Good brands for a good price include Abec 11, Cult, Seismic, and Earthwing makes some good wheels. Get Bones Reds bearings as they are inexpensive and there aren't major cons to them as they aren't pricey. Fill me in on the price range for the board, as this setup so far will cost about $110. I would suggest having an additional $100 for the deck and you will have a fantastic setup.

I would say get this deck:

It is a great deck, and is priced low for how well it performs. I would suggest getting a real all purpose shaped board instead of a flexy pintail just incase you decide that you want to start trying downhill and potentially sliding if you are interested. And even if you don't, that board will be great for your size and weight as it won't flex very much, if any at all.
