Why ford kicks chevys ass.

The new fords are fucking dope. Ive got a 2000 f150 and its actually pretty easy to work on.

Fuck Toyotas, way to overpriced and they look stupid

Im down with chevys though too, but damn, Ford is actually coming up with some dope designs like that picture

I disagree. GM in general has better cars than Ford.

Cadillac pwns, buick semi-pwns, GMC has unreal trucks and Chevy has the Camaro. nuff said

Doing nothing with wrench.

Yeah thats pretty much true. But thats just because American cars have a bad rep.

Alot of Chevys cars are actually pretty solid. In terms of GM as a whole, I can only speak for Cadillac. They make some sexy ass cars and the CTS is probably the most amazing luxury car (at that price point) you will ever drive.

Yeah, I know. I was just being an ass cause I really like Ford and don't understand all the hate directed towards them cause me, my dad, and my mom have never had any problems with our Fords. My mom has a Toyota Land Cruiser now though because the old Explorer wasn't quite big enough anymore and it was a bday gift of sorts from my dad.

Fuck fords and theres is no such thing as an 8.1 powerstroke.

Chevy Duramax/Allison is where its at. Destroys all import trucks and DIESEL is where its at. Im currently making 502 HP and 1079 TQ in my 2007 2500. Next to duramax its the 12v cummins. Mercedes diesels are the shit too.

Even after shipping and tariff costs, foreign cars are still better for the money.

If you could buy those cars there it would be an even sicker deal.

Some people like trucks, including myself. Nothing rides better on the way to the ski hill than a big duramax. Just Cruise.
and that is coming from someone who owns a Subaru forester and a toyota corolla to save on gas.

I will admit that management sucked ass along with the vehicles, and they are definitely part of the reason for GM's bankruptcy, but in no way was it just because of management. Toyota does better than GM in every vehicle area besides trucks, but Toyota has t made a huge effort to expand their truck line. The simple reason for these imports being bought is because of quality and reliability. Not once have I heard of a Toyota that broke down a lot or an unreliable Toyota. You get what you pay for. GM vehicles are just absolute crap. So I will place part if the blame on management, but at the same time I'm going to place even more blame on the quality of vehicles. Why would anyone spend $30,000 on a car that will break down and last half as long as the Japanese car for $5,000 less that will last as much as a car should? American cars are overpriced and shitty. It's as simple as that. GM will never improve. If the government and the dumbfucking American public continue to pump money into their walletts, when will they ever wake up and realize their lies and shit vehicles just won't cut it?

Why does Toyota recall so many of their vehicles then? I've seen GM and other domestic vehicles last longer than Toyotas and other cars and not have anything wrong with them. It all depends on how you take care of your fucking car. Saying that all GM vehicles are complete shit is just fucking ignorance. I could say the exact same thing about Toyotas not being reliable.

There are some recalls with Toyotas, but once they are fixed, they are fixed under Toyotas expense. I do see old Chevys around town, and the person either had it in the shop all the time or got lucky and ended up with a good vehicle somehow. Example. We drove a 1997 Suburban. The Suburban was in the shop every other month. Luckily the vehicle was still under warranty. The catalitic converter went, the engine overheated doing basic highway driving at fucking night, it wasn't even hot, and it routinely decided to break down. Oh, and all of those major breakdowns occured when the vehicle was less than three years old. After that it would routinely break down and the battery died a lot. Our friend's Chevy sucked for a few years, but once they decided to put a whole new engine in, it worked perfectly. The only issue our 1994 Toyota camry has had is a cracked radiator, but that's because my twelve year old brother is a dumbshit. The car had sat in our garage for about two years, and we had to jump it to start it back up. it's in the driveway idling and my little brother decides to rev it up to 5,000 RPM, and pshhhhhhhh, there goes the radiator. We have never had any issues with the Toyotas we have owned. My friend's Mom replaced her Suburban with a 4Runner because she knew that Toyotas were more reliable and higher quality. My other friends Dad currently owns a 2003 2500 Chevy Silverado and he owned a Tundra before. He says he regrets ever buying a Chevy vehicle. 300,000 miles and his Tundra never had an issue. 100,000 and the Chevy has spent tons of time in the shop. Toyotas never break down, so you CANNOT say that Toyotas are not reliable, that's more ignorant than me calling all GM vehicles complete shit.

i have a ford V10 in my motor home

/claim

it hauls ass haha makes me fall all over the place when i'm walking around in the motor home while moving

It takes one thread on NS to bring alllll the hicks out.

Toyota makes their Tundra in a plant in Texas, they employ almost 2,000 AMERICAN workers. So keep on supporting America big guy.

I'm a Chevy man myself though. Nothin' better.

lets all jump on the hate gm bandwagon!

being someone that drives a gm and a yota, as far reliability goes, my 89 safari's been in the family for the last 20 000 k and before that she was sittin in a lot under the weather for a year and a half, new alternator and was good to go, i can get 700k to a tank and its about 80 bucks to fill. shes sittin around 314ks now and still running as good as ever, dont have to do much to it other than pour oil in it sometimes...

the 86 yota trucks great aswell, only issue is the starter, no biggie, inefficient 4 banger engine and with a heavy box goes for worse mileage than the gm(4L engine), but not by much, had to do the head gasket once but other than that its an unreal off roading vehicle, with 389ks on it not having any problems what so ever.

so with all the flaming in this thread id think its safe to assume people just hate on gm cause of their whole financial situation. and by the way, preventative maintenance goes a loooonnnngg way in the life of a vehicle, fact of the matter is, any vehicle of any make will do the trick from a to b if you treat it right and actually check the oil once in a while instead of just assuming that it will go forever without TLC.

ps also drive an 96 e350 cube van for work, reliable and surprisingly good on fuel ( can be better than the yote sometimes)

old trucks were built better, end thread/

I never said Toyotas were unreliable. BTW my family has driven GM vehicles for years. We currently have an 01 Suburban, 01 Sierra, 98 S10, and an 08 Canyon. In the past weve had a 99 Silverado, 91 S10 and a 99 S10. Absolutely no problems with either of them. So YOU sir cannot say GM vehicles suck. It goes both ways bud.

Word, hit the nail right on the head. And Sierra, this argument can honestly go on forever, so can we just agree they are both good brands?

this is rediculous, we have had 3 jeeps, i know a ton of people with jeeps, noone i know has ever had any major issues with their jeep.

the only bad jeep thing is the door wiring and cooling fluid tanks are sorta janky.

AHAHAHA Heeps are terrible.

I really don't want to list every reason and argument, but they're not even "tough" vehicles anymore. Compass? Liberty? Grand Cherokee? They're all suburbanized, automatic, and pointless. Even the Wrangler looks like shit now.

On the topic of full-sized trucks (and all cars, since diesels are more efficient, more reliable, and more powerful):

diesel>>>gasoline

Toyota Tundras are terrible for that reason. They do not come in diesel.

As for Power Stroke vs Duramax, I prefer the latter, but that's just me.
