What do YOU think about the military?

i have been looking into the military for years, i just grew to understand from different forums and videos and articles that the guard and reserve were not nearly as well trained our equipped as the full time army or marines i cant give you a single web page that shows that there funding and training isnt good enough to be combat ready.

well its really hard to become a navy seal, entire classes of 200 of the toughest people in the navy will wash out. so if the hilary clinton becomes president and says that nave seals will have to include women. If they lower their standards enough to pass women through buds, then pretty much every dude in the country could do it. Even fucking you could do it. So how could you be proud to be a navy seal then?

im not sexist, im a realist

movies like ji jane are fun to imagine, and american tv announcers have fun saying that the williams sisters are good enough to take on the men in tennis, but its all fucking bullshit. dont be that fucking stupid

Man why can't people type out explanations that actually EXPLAIN what they are thinking/saying more often? If people actually did this, such as this response, there would be much less bickering.

well ya in those aspects its quite reasonable, he was just talking about how you said women were a disgrace in general. they make up a large part of the military in all fields

combat ready isnt that important in this war by the way, if america traded all of its weapon technology with the iraqis weapons technology (besides nuclear weapons) they would fuck us up overnight

not true, thats why we have so much training dedicated to wapons technology. my friends dad is a pilot who trains ally countries to fly better because their pilots are on a totally different level than ours.

the best pilots in the world are israeli and british. imo, i have seen pilots from both countries do insane things. they may not have the f-22 or f-35 but they are damn good.

It has it's perks

But I really don't like the whole military attitude or way of doing things. A lot of it is very hyprocritcal. My service commitment is really small and easy but still, I can't wait to be completely out in about 7 years.

i say fuck the military and everyone who is involved in it. Its just a bunch of selfish bastards who want shit a certain way and will kill to get it that way instead of talk, check the other perspective of the enemy, or just chill the fuck out. Even fucking Iran wants to talk with us, but we wont' have it.... noooo we want sanctions placed on them cause they got some nuclear shit. ooo waiit who has thousands of WMD's... O yeaaaa the USA. If anything we should be sanctioned by the countries of the world who are fed up with our shit

Ohhhhh shit, that was stupid. You do realize that the soldiers who aren't making the plays are 'involved in the military' right? Get ready to be destroyed.

What a fucking idiot, do you watch the news or do you get your education from NS? Irani president described their nuclear program as "a train without brakes or a reverse gear". We aren't talking to them because they are refusing. You should be informed before acting like a gigantic asshole.

Ya thats one of the biggest reasons why there isn't one. By the way why does everyone refer to the possibility of getting drafted? There is no draft.

and, just like you, I full heartedly imagine that every single soldier who volunteered did it out of greed and corruption. No fucking way did they do it in hopes that they'd be used to keep us safe and protect our freedom.

Fool.

ummm maybe if you had read any major newspaper today you would see that Condaleeza Rice is refusing to talk with Iran. And they actually DO want to talk, read the news mothafucka

She's refusing because of the threatening remarks the Irani president made, thanks I understand and that came on first yesterday not today.

una mas cosa, the military should be in Darfur not fucking Iraq. There is freakin genocide going on and we aren't doing shit about it... plus the genocide has been goin down longer than the Iraq war. So why is it we have never ever ever gave a shit about Africa? just a question

It's called Somalia.

And everyone was pissed when we went there just like when we went to Iraq. There was genocide in Iraq for years before we went in but most people don't think thats our business either.

woord up homies, good discussion for sure, we all got our opinions and prolly are gona keep em, IM out. burn a spliff for peace

you know what Fuck you, Im tired of you stupid Damn Hippy Liberals, bitchin about how the government sucks, you know what, i hope one of your fuckin candidates does win so we can see how fucked up the government would be without republicans, I mean your right Bush did Fuck up BIG time, but that doesnt mean that the Republicans are to blame, and another thing, serving in the military isnt half as bad as it was before, we are owning ass over there, and if you got a problem go tell Gore cause i dont want to hear it

Well, as a stupid Damn Hippy Liberal, I for one agree with you. I dont think it would have mattered much who was in office at the time to be honest. Gore and Bush probably would have done the same. That being said, Gore probably would have handled it better once we were in there. I'd like to think we'd have it better resolved. But you're right.

I think the real reason for Iraq being what it is right now is not attributable to any political side. I think our country has let Iraq become what it is now because of the rivalry between dems and republicans. Its this inner-government battle thats made us so indecisive and faulty. We spend extraordinary amounts of time and money placing blame on this or trying to wrest control from the other side... we need to be focusing this effort on our nations real problems, namely Iraq. Our country has gotten so god-damned polarized that our government is beginning to be impeded. Get it together, neither side should be right or wrong. The right thing to do now is to forget party boundaries for once and just work on a solution.

True, but I must disagree with your piece about Gore. He and Clinton were both very hesitant to take any sort of action during their time in office.

While that's true, if they had been faced with 9/11, I'm sure they would have acted accordingly (whatever that meant in their eyes).

ok then i ask u in all ur research when u found out that guard and reserve troops are funded by activite duty military during traing while we got to basic training in the same flight as active duty i was one of 3 guard members that werent active duty in my flight then i went to technical trainging school with again active duty funded by active duty for the same duration as active duty....so where in all this was i under trained or under funded?

becuase 9 11 hadnt happened yet i could compile a list of quotes from the early 90s to just before 9 11 with gore, bill and Hillary Clinton...all stating the belief of iraq to posses WMDs...so no in office they didnt have a reason to but as said above with either in office its very likely we would be in the same situation but im not here to play what ifs

you are probably the most ignorant person in this thread just because of this reply. please, see your wait out of it. Thank you.
