Since theres a Subaru owners thread, why not make one for Volkswagen owners/fans
Post a pic of your VW or what model you've got

I search barred it and couldn't find anything like this
GO!

I literally have the same car as the op, same style, color, wheels, etc. Just no roof rack. 5 speed. Selling it soon but the roscoe has treated me well.

My one complaint is that on the highway at highway speeds it rides at a really high rpm, like at 75 mph around 3400 rpm. so annoying

both of those are mine

literally pisses me off so much you dont even understand. Like hwen they built the car, they really couldnt throw a 6 gear in or re work the ratio? So fucking annoying. It definatly kills gas mpg's also because mine is pretty shit for a car this small and with a engine so small. You have no idea how happy i am to get a new car in the near future.

For all the vw experts out there

with 102,000 miles on it, just got a new timing belt, front exhaust pipe, wter pump, new tires. Minimal scratches on it, no dents scrapes, etc. 5 speed. Its on kbb for 4500. You think i could get 4000 out of it, trunk latch is broken, small rip in drivers floor mat, and center armrest doesnt close well

im tinting the turn signals soon but im saving up money to try and get window tint before i do anything else cuz theres no tint right now

i got an 05 passat wagon. its got 4motion and rips through snow

stock picture cause im too lazy to go outside and take one

here's the official two cents for this volkswagen thread so anyone posting below doesn't embarass themselves

any vw newer than 1998 that isn't a mk4 R32 is junk

any vw without a VR6 is junk

blacking out/murdering your car is junk.

mk5 is garbage.

mk6 is just as garbage, but the heavier type of garbage that sinks to the bottom of the garbage pile

and lastly going 110 is junk.. go faster

that should be about all for that. and i'll leave this here... its what volkswagen used to make, real cars.

hahahaha, thats pure gold. Everytime i see any car prior to mk4 roll into the shop it is pure fucking gold. My god old vw's are pure rust buckets

now you went full retard

you posted a mk2 with a vr6- I hope you realize that VW didnt introduce a vr until mk3's- so the photo you posted is of a slammed POS vr swap that cant do anything except sit in parking lots for photo shoots

MK5 and MK6 are the best handling, fastest gtis of all time- the 2.0t motor is a fucking beast and DSG is an awesome transmission

and finally the VR6- quite possibly the worst motor of all time. All of that displacement and all its good for is a little noise and blowing up if you plan on running anything over a few pounds of boost- cant modify the block to any major extent due to the fact that the damn cylinder wall are so close together

you claim a mk3 isnt junk yet its universally known as the worst generation of vws of all time, heavy, look like shit, and they didn't offer the simplicity of a mk1 or mk2 of maintenance

and Mk4 R32 is a slow, severely overweight, severely overpriced piece of garbage, that understeers thru every corner conceivable

in conclusion kill yourself

i dont normally reply to threads where people reply to what i say but when i do, its for a really good reason.

first of all, i know i posted a picture of a swapped mk2 hatch. you know why, because they are sick. you wanna know why else, because boosted vr's in cars that way a little of 2000 lbs are scary as fuck. don't say anything about a boosted car until you drive one. and by the way, the vr6 came around in the corrado first, well before the mk3 hit the market here. and it was in the b3 passats before that too.

secondly, mk5 and mk6 golfs and jettas are ugly. same with the gti. They look like hondas. with all the electronics attached it literally seperates you from the driving experience, so everything you say about their speed and handling is attributed to electronics that reduce your shitty driving mistakes and compensate for the vagina between your legs.. you are also telling me that a tiny 2 liter engine with a busted ass K04 sized turbo is a "beast"? and that automatic transmissions are "awesome"?? it's almost ridiculous to argue you with you at this point since i can already tell you've never worked on an engine in your life.

The vr6 engine is the cornerstone of engineering. 177 hp motors that weigh something close to 400 pounds, that you can cram in a car as big as a old rabbit are awesome! and what bull shit are you talking about boost? did you buddy throw a turbonetics kit on his slammed mk3 and blow it up. wanna know why? well first up his dumbass probably never even bothered to upgrade the essential parts of an engine to accomodate mild levels of boost. and he probably scraped his oil pan and threw a rod bearing. or he probably never even put a head spacer in to adjust compression that a boosted car is more suited to. As far as "modifying" the engine block? are you talking about boring them out? i've seen OBD 2 vr6's bored to 3.2 successfully and run successfully. but why do anything to that block besides always check the oil anyway? after doing the timing chain, replacing the guides, and doing basic head maintenance the engine is good for the rest of it's life.

no one says mk3's are the worst generation of all time. it was a transitionary period for volkswagen into the modern market, and the kinks in their electronics are easily repaired with a Bentley manual and a little patience. as far as simplicity goes, have you ever bothered to look at a wiring harness for your precious 2.0t fsi engines? a tad complicated in my opinion. you can break a vr6 down into 3 basic chains, and wire from there. and rust is only an issue for people who don't maintain their cars. it's unfortunate we let retards drive, but it happens, and there is no way to stop it.

lastly, the mk4 r32 was the coolest thing ever. yes it was overpriced, and still sells used WAY overpriced, but that's because a majority of the remaining R's are in the same condition they were bought in, meticulously maintained by enthusiasts who knew the power that a 24 valve 3.2 liter vr6 made when boosted, and the advantages of owning an AWD weapon with the same wheelbase as the legendary Audi coupe quattro.

at the end of all this, i'm not really sure why i typed all this. i guess i don't understand why people want to suck VW's dick because they put plaid seats in a car, or the headlights look like the ugly child of an asian, but with a little education, maybe you will realize that if you know what you're talking about before you talk, and don't end your reply with "kill yourself", people might take you seriously when you talk about things you actually now about.

i still just can't believe you said automatic transmissions are "awesome". haha smh

please just stop- I beg you

You talk about "real handling" and having a connected driving experience- maybe in a 16v mk2- but as soon as you swap a vr6 you are totally front loading a car already known for plowing thru turns and understeering like a motherfucker- now you add boost- more weight, and good old torque steer to now send you into that ditch even faster

"Don't say anything about a boosted car until you drive one"- not really sure how to respond to that- how much boost are we talking here- like 18 lbs in an R32 or 32 lbs in my Evo or maybe 36 psi through a 68mm monster supra(which is now a 78mm with 1300 hp)- is that enough boost-

Never worked on a engine in my life- yet again Im gonna go with kill yourself

and the legendary R32- severly underpowered- Haldex is an absolute piece of shit, severly overweight, and et again good old VW understeer- same wheelbase as the quattro coupe- awesome- except it doesnt use quattro as quattro is all mechanical diffs and 50/50 torque split all the time- and the coupe also has the greatest audi motor of all time the 5 cyl turbo- good for over 500 wheel on a stock block-

and I said DSG transmissions are awesome- I dont know about you but Id rather go fast than have the always sacred 3rd pedal

i have an 03 jetta tdi wagon. it has very little power and is only 2 wheel drive but it gets crazy gas mileage and i can drive it most days in the snow with snow tires

my parents just got a '12 jetta tdi as well in stick that's so much nicer. the difference in cars is ridiculous and having it in manual saves so much gas mileage. in the '03 automatic driving at 75 mph spins at around 3200 rpm whereas in the stick at 75 mph it's 2000

This doesn't apply to auto transmissions any more. If anything they usually have an even longer final gear than the sticks now and can usually match them for economy.

haha this is priceless. Vw fanboys are comedy gold. Do go on, tell me how awesome r32's are.

On a side note, we got 13 golf R's a few weeks back, not really a fan.

haha fo sho...vw fanboys are the boston sports fan of the car world. Its like talking to a brick wall. Nothing is as good as a vw. hahaha lmao. I drive a vw, 2003 jetta idk which mk whatever that is. Thing fucking sucks. Its a 5 speed for the haters also. Needs a 6 drives at absurdly high rpm's. like 3300 at 70 mph. All the vw's people shit there pants over stanced and stuff are so fucking dumb. I always lol at vw's that are stanced when i see them around. B

BRB losing all function to look cool to only other vw owners.

EPA tests for standards are done @55mph, because they're 20 years behind where the max speed limit was 55.

Cars have to be designed to be most efficient to pass these tests at 55. No more EPA emissions tests, or up them to 65mph, and we would have much more efficient cars.

yeah, all 13 we got were pre sold. we actually had 16 potential buyers but were only given 13.

They went back to a BPY style 2.0 turbo motor, which was an awful motor. Come to think of it, all the 2.0 turbo motors have some pretty horrible common issues. I would never buy a 2.0t for the long term. One of my friends at work right now is replacing camshafts on one because of a common wear issue. They consume insane amounts of oil and VW can not figure out why, they have revised a PCV system related recall 4 separate times trying to reduce oil consumption in BPY's with no luck. Its such a common problem there is a procedure you have to follow as per VW when a BPY comes in for oil consumption issues, if you stray from the procedure VW will not pay us for any repairs. Not to mention all the timing belt tensioner issues with the BPY, coil plug issues, high pressure fuel rail issues, cracking camshafts for no real reason, AC compressors that cave in and dump metal fillings into your ac system. All in All, a very scary car to own long term.
