Should be exactly the same, SOME nikon versions may be a tiny bit heavier, as they have a built in focus motor(this wont work with your gh2 so it doesn't matter). They're both adaptable to the gh2 but the nikon version is adaptable to basically any crop afaik.

So basically it doesn't matter, if you're using canon as well get the canon, if you're using nikon as well get the nikon, if you're using neither just get whatever's cheapest including the price of an adapter.
 
You can adjust the aperture of the Nikon version without using an electronic connection, which for GH2/3 is key

thats what i was wondering but would it be worth the switch when i will still have the t2i as a back up or would it be wise to just set the tokina to f/4 throw a variable nd filter on it and change the shutter speed a little
 
thats what i was thinking but my summer project it to completly switch over my tamron and tokina over to nikon and get the gh2 but not in that order thanks for all the help also anything else i would need for the set up like a differnt mic with audio gain control on the mic and not in the camera like the rode vmp or another mic of the sorts
 
Do most people (with canon dslrs) just plugin their mics straight into the camera with magic lantern? Or do you use other audio recorders or preamps or something?

I'm going for a simple, clean design. Influenced by the 4BI9/Level 1 and Nordica Logo's which I think is pretty clear. I don't mind if it's a bit of a played design because in the UK we're about 5 years behind the rest of the world trends wise anyway haha.

I wouldn't have use that graffiti style, also I still think brumski is a fucking horrible name. apart from that it's good
 
Well I have this block one as well, but personally I prefer the graffiti version, and the name ain't changing unfortunately ;P.

Are there add ons like after effects for imovie 11? I'm doing a school project and dont have the $$ for any expensive programs and im terrible at torrenting...

how much better is the rode ntg1 over the rode videomic pro? also is it worth upgrading mics when you add another camera or just get another regular rode videomic
 
I made one once, never used it a whole lot though

the hardest part seems to be keeping vibrations down
 
I believe it is standard to use at least 5. Any less could be a danger to you and the woodland creatures below. One time my camera accidentally fell and collided with a nearby moose. I was lucky to escape with my life.

I'm debating right now on whether I should buy a Nikon 14-24mm or a 16-35mm. Kind of leaning towards the 14-24mm because it's a faster lens.

Also, not sure if I should bring my tripod with me to Thailand, I'm either bringing mine or buying a smaller compact one. Not bringing one isn't really a option because I want to do some long exposure panoramas in Singapore/Kuala Lumpur/anywhere else I can. I was able to fit my tripod into the backpack I'm bringing but I'm still unsure of whether it makes sense to bring the bigger one.

Any advice/thoughts you guys have would be cool, especially if you've been backpacking before.

The 14-24 is fucking legendary, I wish canon had one.

That said, it lacks filter rings (If I remember correctly) and it will be one expensive specialty lens (I assume you have a range of other lenses to take over from 24 on though so shouldn't be an issue)
 
I've used the 14-24 quite a bit before and love it. I've also heard great things about the 16-35 but haven't really used it. The perks of the 16-35 would be that it can accept regular filters and is much lighter, but that being said its kinda slow. I shoot all 1.4 and 1.2 primes so its a bit of a difference haha.
 
I really don't like it in the lest. The memory is awesome and the visual of your/other's photostream(s) is much better but viewing a single photo is awful. I feel like compression of photos has changed or something along those lines, a few of my pictures look like trash but still look fine when I open them in photoshop.
 
If i put a 52mm filter on a fd lens with a 58mm thread using a step down ring on my gh2 I shouldn't have any problems with vignetting should I.

Also what density nd filter would you recommend for skiing.
 
i mean step down rings are like a dollar so try it out. with a gh2 and a lens over 20mm you'll probably be ok
 
I think the photostream is so much better. You can really tell they took a page from tumblr's book and made it a way more image-centric flow.

with that said, it's slow as shit and takes way too long. Hopefully they'll work out some kinks and get it up to speed.
 
anyone know how to mix 1080 footage and 720 in adobe premiere pro cs6 i know people have done it but i dont so if anyone does know i would love to hear it
 
ahh thank you very much just saved many shoots from being in 720@60 when they clearly need to be in 1080@24 or @30
 
Evan, you can probably answer this, who makes a cpl with markings on the outside of the filter to tell how much polarization is happening without ttl support?
 
soo i need new camera bag that will support two dslr bodys 5 to 6 lenses 2 mics and small exrats like filters and such also one that easily carrys a tripod and glidecam my budget is somewhere around 200 though i would like to stay under that any help is appreciated
 
Is it frowned upon to re-use clips for a new video if they were recently used in another one? I mean if they're your clips, of course. My predicament is that I recently made a longboarding documentary, and now I'm making a solo edit of one of the kids I featured in it. I want to use some clips from the documentary for his solo. Is that frowned upon?
 
I wouldn't say it's frowned upon, but If people have seen something before, it's not going to be as impressive the 2nd time, so if it's only being shown to people who didn't see the documentary, then it wouldn't matter at all, although unlikely, you get my point, that's just the way I look at it.
