TJ Schiller no longer on armada?

all i know is all his sponsors changed cuz hes no longer sponsored by anon and he got sponsored by monster and i hope he doesnt get dropped by armada cuz hes almost the face of armada

C/P right from ARMADA Skis on Facebook:

TJ SCHILLER HAS LEFT ARMADA

As it relates to TJ, he
has stepped away as a member of the Armada team and has moved on to sign
another endorsement deal. TJ has been, and was, an integral part of the
Armada family over the past 4 years and we wish him nothing but the best.
Please let me take a moment to dispel the myths that may be floating
around. Armada did not drop TJ and TJ did not drop Armada because of his
injury, or because we were on bad terms; nothing could be further from the
truth. This was a business decision for TJ and we will continue to
applaud his achievements in the future. As a company, Armada will move
forward in its efforts to provide skiers the world over with superior equipment
and will continue to develop its current team of skiers.

Noooo TJ. I can't imagine TJ with any other company, armada is TJ and TJ is armada

This is shitty. Damn. TJ and armada was the perfect combo!
I'm with everyone who isn't happy with coreupt. So they're started by some randoms who suddenly have HUGE support from some BMW rich guy, then they steal all the top athletes without even making any product yet or proving their love of skiing in any way. Purely a business idea trying to take advantage of "core" skiers. Not going to work on me. I really get bad vibes from that company, like maybe they're corrupt... Companies can't just start with the biggest names in skiing, something is definitely fishy...

Is it me or does this thread sounds like a FRANCE VS USA ? Stop bitching about it because a new company "steal" some of the best riders out there.. This is what skiing needs: New brand, outside investors, more money.. That's a great thing the Coreupt came out.

And for god sake, give them a chance.. You sound like 12 years old kevins whose been taken his gift away.

GROW UP.

I actually don't give a shit whether they are made or owned in France. Pretty much every big company is from somewhere in europe other than K2. Got no problems with them. They are proven, and they had to work to build their teams.
Sorry that I happened to think that TJ was a good fit for the personality that Armada represents.
It was Coreupt themselves that used the whole "stealing" riders thing as their main marketing scheme. Hence the Candide commercial where they kidnap him.
And TJ wasn't from the US anyways. He is from BC in Canada, and grew up riding one of my home mountains in BC.

I'm totally with ya on this one man

For me, Armada was TJ and I thought it was a perfect match, his personality, and Armada's "rebelious" image went hand in hand. I'm not really happy about coreupt taking all the riders, its not because they're french, just cause TJ's my favourate skier and Armada was one of my favorite brands.

Everyone that bitched against COREUPT in this thread will probably regret it during this winter as it will be a mainstream compagny just like Armada or Salomon.

Candide is SICK

TJ is SICK

CoreUPT has to be sick then. And this huge investment before even selling skis means that they do believe in the sport.

Isn't Coreupt part owned and then manufactured by Dynastar.

I saw one that said "Made by Dynastar" down the side like the Prada skis do.

Thats why they have so much backing.

And why does anyone care whos sponsored by what company? They're still the same rider.

I hope he moves to Kneisl or Kaestle.

Its different, the riders didn't get taken, they started the company, its their company. Corupt is not a rider owned company from what I've heard.

yea, they like put halfpipe into the olympics, dont support coreupt, they not core, whatever the fuck 'core' means, core is a made up word by dumb kids on the internet, why the fuck wouldnt you start your business with the dopest pros and upandcomers, fuck, if i had the money, i would!! the whole bullshit about them just being a dynastar ski or watev with diff topsheet is bullshit, loads of brands outsource production/use existing molds (armada). they use origional flex platterns i read in an interview, also that theyd be using their own molds in the second year. the whole 'they got loads of money we dont like them is such bullshit, its so fucking ironic. if you started a company, wouldnt you want it to be dope and have the highest chance of success especially in a competetive/tough industry like skiing? how would they stand the best chance? get investors so they wont be scraping for pennies in the early stages? i guess you could argue they should modify their marketing strategy because of stupid kids on the internet that made up this word called 'core', oh wait, they did, how ironic!!

Maybe they could do the whole 'rider owned' thing armada did (they had outside investors too, like coreupt), that was quite smart or 'core' haha. the guys that are heading up coreupt, they are stoked on skiing too, just like the guys that started armada.

if your gonna be core, then dont be like skiing needs more exposure, it should be in the olympics. If your into the whole being 'core' thing you wouldnt give a shit and just ski, atleast, thats the only way i could ever use the word 'core', like if i HAD to use the word. shit i typed loads.

TJ is the man regardless

damm hope this isnt true. armada would miss tj but theyd be fine without him too their a big company now.

who gives a shit seriously.....why are there 4 pages of a dude not riding on a type of skis......

guys it just has to be not true. I am sure as some others said he hasn't filled out the bio. He is too good for surface skis. The only other skis companys that are big enough to get him to switch is salomon. But he wouldn't do that

on the subject of corrupt i mean coreupt did any one else notice that gus kenworthy who is on coreupt's team was riding trouble makers in the camp of champion's edits leading me to believe they are in fact the same ski as dynastars

There are so many uneducated and illiterate kids in this thread.

IF YOU WANT TO KNOW THE FULL STORY OF COREupt THEN PM ME.

But it is simple, Coreupt are their own brand, they have an investor (like Armada did at the start) and it is rider run apart from the finances. But the riders call the shots, design the graphics and basically call the shots. All the Investor wants is a positive cash return...
This season they will be using Dynastars molds, and only their molds. All of the materials (cores, edges, laminates, fibregalss and all the other necessaries) are bought by Coreupt and the skis are pressed to their requirements of flex pop and sidecut. Next year they will have their own factory, molds, presses and such.
The issue was the small time between getting their investor agreed and trying to get some skis made for publicity. It really is that simple, and it was how Armada was started as well.
The poaching image is clearly what they are going for and they are doing a fantastic job of exposing their company to the masses, look at all the threads and length of threads about them... Even if you aren't buying them this season you are talking about them and that is the first step in taking over a market.

hopefully TJ will shine within coreupt, and a team as strong as theirs is hardly going to let people down now is it?
everyone grow up and become intrigued and less angry about the situation.

why are indie companies somehow undeserving of big-name pros? thats a totally retarded thing to say. ARMADA got tanner when they wre just a tiny company, and tom wallisch (who is now a BIG NAME PRO stop calling him an up-and-comer, people) got signed to amplid, a tiny snowboard company

I don't think they are undeserving but if a big name skier signs with a small hard goods sponsor, their other sponsors have to flip the rest of the bill to keep them traveling and in ads. I might be wrong about established skiers as they might have enough popularity to keep the coverage going. I am not against smaller companies but they have to be careful with their budgets. One bad year and they are out of business. Where does that leave the athletes?

^wow at first I thought you two were the same person you guys have pretty much the same DP's
had me soo confused for a second

That's the problem dude. You can't just pay money and name your brand with "core" in the title to suddenly intrigue the masses. It'll take time. If the skis are good and the vibes are good, people will learn to like Coreupt. If not, too bad.

Ok call me crazy but what if he went to LINE...I know that Sammy was really close to getting with LINE when his first Salomon contract was up and Eric is really the only pro pro on their team so i bet they could hook it up fat for TJ. Dude i'd shit my pants if he rode LINE...only for the simple fact that i'm obsessed with LINE. Tj is cool and all but i just love LINE and to see someone reppin that at major comps like TJ would be sick.

hey, I have my own little opinion on this one, I think it's because TJ didn't get a pro-model. I also think he should go to ninthward, because thats just a fucking dope company with great skis and get his own pro-model!

I agree. If TJ went to Line that would be dope. They could use his personality and style. I think it would be a great fit. IMO.

Peace.

I think it would be safe to assume, in your own defense, you do not have any experience working in this industry. This is a job. People get paid to do what you read about.

We can't live like minimalists just because it's "core" or of a commitment to a certain company. We all love to ski, but we have to feed our families and think about the rest of our lives. Making around $24,000 every year, or less for athletes, is simply not enough. You ever been to a mountain town? You don't know until you've done it. Do you know how many reps can't even afford their own houses at 35 years old - living with three or four roommates? They're in sales and still can hardly survive. Now think about being an athlete who gets mostly product and puts their body on the line everyday w/ NO health insurance..

TJ got a better deal and he wants to be able to get paid a better wage for his work. Trust me, it's not as much as almost everyone thinks.

I hope this response doesn't piss you, or anyone else, off too much. This idea is important for everyone to understand.

armada loses one of their biggest players but they still have Tanner, Julien, Jacob, JP, Anthony and Phill i think they will do just fine withought him Its dope Tj Finally gets his own Promodell...... So sick
