The Stoked Thread

I still suck, but im getting a bit better since i haven't been skiing much this year... Here's some tricks i filmed. I don't have any of my flatground stuff on tape but i'll get some new stuff soon.

Nice moves, it seems like your getting used to it. I use to be able to do abut half of what you did there, but that was when I used a skateboard about 10 years ago. I often think about buying one nowadays, but I'm afraid I like rollin too much right now to devote anytime to skateboard. Plus my ankles are lame as it is now.

Oh yeah I'm stoked on ordering my 2008 surf fishing pass for Delaware. This year we will be driving the beast right onto the beach. This summer is gonna be wonderful. Anybody selling a used surfboard????

I would love to pick up a kit from grain surfboards in maine, they are all wood and you can build them yourself if you want. Even the kits still cost like 500-600 bucks though, plus then I'd have to find time to make a surfboard.

thats a nice one.

too bad im still learning so theres no way id even be able to make one.

between climbing gear, a surfboard and possibly a kayak, this is going to be an expensive summer. well worth it of course

Search out a used kayak if you can, I'm seeing em for like half the price of new and a lot of times with a skirt and possibly paddle included.

I haven't bought climbing gear in a while, but I don't trad so I'm not out buying all the little crack fillers for safety. We mostly top rope it around here.

yeah ill be buying a used one from EMS sometime in the next couple of months or so.

all i need for climbing gear is a crash pad (which ive already found) and a pair of shoes. we used to top rope all of the time but i no longer hang out with that crew so now im stuck bouldering.

this is gonna be an expensive summer for sure. right now on the lineup I'm looking at getting

a tacoma

a dirt jump/street bike

an AT setup

and 3 seasons passes.

stoked on new stuff, not stoked on being broke.

That bottom one gets me goin for sure. mmmmmmmm Jay.

I came home from that road trip to maine and I swear I was the only car in town with road salt all over the damn place.

Stoked to go kayak fishing after work today, even if it is raining.

Oh here's some more pics from that road trip to jay and the loaf.

Try skiing ^ that in a bunny suit with goggles on.

JD, you're on.

I got in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now all I have to do is come up with an extremely large sum of money, fast. Chances of doing this are slim to none. But there is still a slight hope.

Chantal, that's awesome, should be wicked for you. And isn't is usually pretty easy to get a large line of credit once you're a doctorate program? Or is that just Med/Dental school.

Haha YES I FUCKIN ROCK!!!

Just got a rush job out to a major client. Totally took the reins on this deal and handled everything superb without my bosses help-not that he would have been much help to me. But the client just sent me an email thanking me profusely and telling me that I basically saved his ass and he'd like to take me out for lunch and a drink. Sometimes it does pay off

+one season pass, another pair of alpine skis, a telephoto lens, and whatever stuff I break biking (hopefully part of the bike). Ghuddamn.

Either I can spend the money I'll earn on a car and guarantee myself the ability to ski next year, or I can spend the money on a trip to Turkey for a month. I'm 50/50 as of now...

I FINALLY RAN MY HALF MARATHON!!!!!!

And... I did AWESOME, considering my knee and ankle are so fucked up. Out of 3000+ people, I got second in my age division (18-24) and eleventh overall. HELL YES. I wasn't expecting to run it in less than an hour and 45 minutes, but I was really hoping for an hour and a half. I ran it in 1:24:15!!!!!! I have nooo idea how I ran so well, especially since I didn't sleep the night before, but I was really pissed off about a bunch of things going into the race, so maybe that drove me.

My company is sooo stoked right now. They want me to continue competing all summer, but I have my knee and ankle surgeries planned and stuff... So now, the big question is: do I continue to run and make a bunch of extra dough that I can use to pay off medical bills and student loans; or do I get the surgeries done now, avoid risking further damage to my leg, and do physical therapy for the next eight to ten months?

Oh yeah, and New Mexico was amazing! It's good to be home, and Ninja is getting HUGE. He's leash and house trained now, but I need to teach him sit and stay, haha. I seriously love this dog so much. He just makes everything better.

Sara that's fucking awesome! Make the decision you think is right and don't regret it.

I'm stoked because today was a POW day and it was super good. I shot a few pictures too.

so jealous, all we've gotten lately is..... rain rain with a side of rain, and a blue bird day here and there, it forbids attempts to actually plan when to go skiing, fortunately i'm still stoked on skiing usually at this point my body is so beat up from the season that i'm just like mehhhhh fuck it, but not this year

Sam, that looks SOOOOOO fun! I want to go!

So I've definitely made my decision. The major downfall about delaying the surgeries is that I'll miss a whole year of skiing.... fucking LAME.

I met with my sponsors today. I had a full physical and checkup on EVERYTHING: MRIs on my knee and ankle (which meant I had to take out all of my piercings, including my nipples... ouch), pelvic exam, bloodwork, everything. They paid for it all. Well, I told them I wasn't sure that I wanted to delay my surgeries, and they said that if I did, they would pay for my surgeries. Do you realize what that means?!!?!?

YEAHHHHHH! So free ankle surgery, AND I get an extra $30,000 from my settlement for the car accident because that's what State Farm is factoring in for the knee surgery. WOOHOO, I can pay off my student loans and have a tiny bit of extra money for school. I'm so stoked, and I'm definitely running for the rest of the summer. They want to pay me more than $2000 per race now, so I won't even have to work this summer if I don't want to (I will, though).

So fucking stoked right now.

Belleayre had their retro/gaper day today. It was sick, tons of fun. I was really stoked to see a lot of the local kids come out to participate, despite an ugly gloomy day. They certainly brightened up the kill with their gear!

Fuck me, I havent gone skiing in two weeks, those pictures look great.

Way to go Sara! And Patty, backflips are fun.

Good news for me too - I have money! Actual money! Like not in debt kinda money! Woooo!!

Stoked on Magic Hat's spring ale - hIPA

from the site: Endowed with a crisp nose of tropical fruit and mint, hIPA begins and ends with big hop bites. Unlike its sister sip Blind Faith, a more malt-balanced IPA, medium-bodied hIPA presents only a hint of malts on the palate. Dry-hopped twice for ultimate quenchability, it’s an ideal accompaniment for spring chores, vernal leisure, and life’s re-emergence upon a blooming land.

It's yum.

First time sleeping in a car this weekend. stoked on that. met some dope brits who gave us beer, a spaghetti and meat ball diner, let us warm up in their RV, and some sweet heated wine/cider combo. goes to your head so fast.

Haha, I'll never forget the first time I slept in my car. I left for Moab at 5:30 in the evening to go biking for two weeks, so my car was stuffed with shit. I ended up stopping in a parking lot in Provo 300 yards from the interstate and sleeping in the front seat for three hours. It got COLD that night! Then to cap it off the lame cops in Price gave me a $130 speeding ticket.

im am Stoked on Claudia Bouvier. basically one of the coolest people i've ever met. super chill and actually throws down on jumps, by far the most underrated girl skier out there. but yeah, skied with her for a weekend a couple weeks ago.

woo!

i justed finished up my research paper and now im heading longboarding woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

ps Particle - "Launchpad" is one fucking groovy, get-down-and-bob-yo-head song!

A couple of my friends camped out at Fenway last night and just got tickets for the ring ceremony/game today. I'm stoked for them
