That was the status quo of the day. To be fair you cannot judge these men on today's standards but of contemporary standards. After all in a thousand year people are going think we're crazy for playing football, much like we think the Romans were crazy for having gladiators. But by today's standards they were fantastic businessmen who were ruthless to competitors and their workers. Regardless of the money they donated that is how they will be judged.
 
At the end of ww1 Germany's economy fell apart and was a great place to invest. After the atrocities of ww1 no one ever thought that there would ever be a major war again. Do you really think socialist Germany moreover nationalist hitler would let an American mess with germanys industrial might during the war. The allies at the time only heard rumors of concentration camps do you really think they knew what chemicals were used in executions and where they came from. They were not bombed because other industries such as guns ball bearing ect had higher priorities than a pesticide plant.

Ig farben did not produce zyklon b it only held the patent and did not produce zyklon b. Do you think hitler after killing 10 million people would give a shit about a patent

Ig invested in a company that held the patent for zykon b an industrial cleaner in the 1930, the company did not manufacture zyklon b it the patent was leased to two manufactures one being testa. Ig did not invest in producing zyklon b, the company they invested which they did not have a majority share collected royalties on the product. So basicly Ig got a check at the end of the month nothing more
