Surface Noise.

Two weeks ago I ripped my Look Px 12 Jib heel piece from my right 2009 Greenlife. Filled the holes and redrilled 2 cm forward. That sunday I ripped the heel piece of the left ski, same deal moved forward 2 cm and back on the slope. Today the right heel piece ripped when I was going for a 270 out. Any possible way I can get some aid?

As Long as you didn't abuse the skis or hit rails or even void the warranty in any way. You should be able to get a new pair,

Surface will probably need you to complete a warranty inquiry and send the skis to them or send pictures to them.

yeah... he 270'd out of a jump.

Honestly guy - props to Surface if they cover it. Odds aren't looking in your favor though

Guy two above, once a ski touches snow that void the warranty, I bought them from the ns Surface rep so I was hoping to get some help.

And 45's, i doubt anything will happen

Seriously, why does everyone always jump down the throats of people who are not happy with their Surface skis?

Whats the verdict on one times, kind of want a pair, need new park skis. I'm 5'10, 140, strong skier, I prefer rails and smaller jumps, dicking around, etc. Durability isn't really an issue, my rossi's are on their 3rd season.

Double times are stiff but kill it All over the park. An then there are no time which have much more flex and I would say are superior on rails

Um, I am not sure... I know Freeskier Mag shot Banks talking about some skis but I am not sure they will run it anywhere because we don't pay them to.

Yeah, I caught the interview with Banks on the Freeskier YouTube channel. It was worthless like all of the "coverage" this year. It felt too much like tmz.com for me to get into any of their interviews. Sorry. I was hoping there would be something like last year when ImageBrew stopped by and dropped a killer little edit about the Lab, etc. I'll keep my fingers crossed for something soon.

FELLAS!

We have 2 pairs of Anthony B Double Time 160's left here at the shop. We would like to move them out of here today. If you call the shop at 801-733-4195 you can cop a pair for $149.95 + shipping.

Surface,

I recently acquired a pair of your Walk Frees and now whenever I go touring I end up at the summit before the rest of the group without breaking a sweat, forcing me to travel further into the mountains to compensate and thereby wander farther from the car. Because my backcountry excursions are generally more secluded, the amount of time I spend on skis has compromised my college GPA.

The durability and design of the ski also gives me too much confidence in dropping large cliffs and skiing risky lines due to their shape and aggressive flex, and as a result I am constantly putting my life in more danger due to an increase in general radicalness.

Surface's effect on my college education and potential physical health is unacceptable, and though the quality of my life has increased tenfold since using your product, I demand a recompense of all your company's assets, including Rob.

P.S. if you don't comply I'll continue saying nasty things about you over the internet

Whats up guys at Surface! Hows life??? I have a few thing I wanna say to you guys. First off I have a little issue about a pair of skis I purchased last season. I bought a pair of No Times from you guys and after riding them for less than 20 days they snapped. I was coming off a down rail and just landed too far forward I guess.

I was really surprised when this happened because up to that point I had really loved those skis. Have you guys ever seen the bottom of a ski snap like that? I ended up being forced to ride a pair of 2001 Rossi Scratchs for the rest of he season. I tried to contact you guys about it but I felt like I got shutdown at every turn. I am aware there really isn't such a thing as a ski warranty, but I expected some response or condolences from you guys. I really wanted you guys to give me a reason to buy another pair of your skis but I didn't get it.

I ended up deciding I could try a pair of your guy's pow skis, so I grabbed a pair of Anthony B New Life's and so far they seem great. I hope they hold up. I really like the skis you put out but my past experience with your company has told me to take my business elsewhere, but I don't want to do that!

Please convince me that you guys are as cool of a company as I think you are, and that you really are willing to help out and support your customer base. If you can do that, you've got a lifetime customer.

That blows!! I'm not pretending to know really anything about running a ski company, or even just handling the warranties, but it would seem nearly impossible to ever really please the masses. If your ski ever touches a rail, the warranty is voided. It just seems ridiculous to sell park skis (this goes for all companies) but then say that you can't use them in the park. This is why, I'm sure, that Surface has introduced the Blanks program. Because in all fairness, park skiing causes failures. Okay, I'm down from my soapbox.

The Blanks are definitely sidewall construction. The 2mm mini cap is just that, a little tiny 2mm roll over on the top sheet before it turns to sidewall. It helps with top sheet chipping.

2mm is barely noticeable on the skis.

Hope that helped.

Definitely did the right thing. They will get back to you for sure. I will personally double check on it in the morning. Thanks!

You are 100% correct. Its tough for ski brands for sure.

We have been doing a lot of research to see how other ski brands comparable to Surface handle their warranties. Despite what a few people say on this website, we are right inline with other brands like Line and Armada.

Rail damage and abuse always void the warranty. Its a tough one too because park skiing is progressing like crazy but all ski companies, including Surface, would all go out of business if we warrantied every park ski that came back to us. We have to evaluate each warranty case individually and do our best to be fair.

Obviously when we tell a customer no, they are pissed and come directly to this website to yell and scream about what a shitty customer service they got which in most cases, it was user error i.e. kids landing on their back, slamming into rails and boxes and urban features etc.

A good example is a dude that skis for Surface, John Ware... he very rarely snaps a pair of skis. As a matter of fact, he only snapped one pair this season. No offense to any of you (me included), but John goes harder than most of us combined. Its because he skis well and actually lands on his feet. He's learned to crash properly.

And you are completely correct about the Blanks.. its exactly why we launched the program. Plain and simple, we are genuinely trying to make it easier on park skiers to stay on the snow after broken skis.

The Blanks are $250.00 and hands down the cheapest ski on the market... and we are selling them as singles too in case you break only one ski.

Thats it.

Do guys have any plans in the future of maybe releasing the double time as a blank as well for those who like a wider ski but are on a tight budget? Also just as a general statement i bought a pair of double times a few weeks ago and with the 5 days i have on them they are my favorite skis in my quiver by far. They're a bit stiff but i love them to death. I am also thinking about swapping my moments for a set of new lifes for a pretty much an all surface quiver.

Reading our minds on the Blanks things ;)

The New Life's are sick man.. I am sure you will love them and we'd love to have you on them (even the boys at Moment are cool cats too)

Thanks for the cool post!

I second the double time blanks. One time blanks woulb be cool too.

I just thought of a pretty cool idea imo. Blanks across the board. But then no one would buy the regular skis you say? Solution: make it a club. For example, each series has a blank ski that everyone qualifys for, so for example if you buy the no time blank then you are in the club for the time series. You would have to had bought the no time blank to qualify for the dub time blank, and qualify for the dub time blank to qualify for the one time blank etc. You can also get into other series' club by certain qualifications made in other series. That would be so sick

Sorry for spelling and stuff, i'm on mobile

Hey Jon,

I appreciate you coming here to NS to get help on a warranty issue but your post is inaccurate and another example of this forum posting negative remarks without warrant. I responded to your initial email on the 15th within 14 hours and we exchanged an additional two emails before you came here and posted we hadn't got back to you. We sincerely appreciate your support and honestly I'm trying to help you out but felt I needed to correct the in inaccuracies in this thread. Please get back to me via email and I'll help you out. Thanks much. -Rob
