Surface Noise.

haha, i have the skis that "snap in no time" and they still haven't snapped, im sure they will be fine.

Will the Lab 001 skis be available in a 190+ length next year? I would love to get my hands on a pair but they're just to short with the amount of rocker they have.

The SKDY No Times had thinner core profiles for sure. Some guys had issues with them and some didn't. I think if you are a smaller/lighter skier and not a complete beater that lands on your back all the time you will be fine. If you have broken other skis in the past I would recommend getting and updated No Time or Double Time from 11/12 or 12/13

Hope that helps!

Nick McNutt has been hanging in Jackson this week for the Powder Magazine Test. Check out he and Lil Wayne riding the LAB 001's in the park. Fun is the key word HERE!

my ski that you guys made broke :-( loved it while i had it but alas, it must be retired and the other one shall be made into a shot ski.

RIP ;-(

Saturdays sale isn't a pro sale... Just a really good sale. We plan to move through a bunch of stuff for super good prices. Come on by!!

i was dissapointed i snapped a brand new pair of nine lives after skiing on them 4 times. wasent doing anything crazy just landed slightly back seat. and then the edges basicly came off..

any plans coming down under? I don't think you have a dealer here and being able to demo some skis (especially the lab 001) would be sweet

got my new lifes mounted today and the amount of rocker tip/tail is slightly different on each ski which makes the center measurement off by a few millimeters. Anyone else experience this? Im not worried cuz it doesn't touch the snow anyway just thought it was strange.

same happened to my double times pictured above, landed a little back seat and snap! I had only ridden mine 8-9 days. Snapped cores seem to be a common thing with Surfaces

Does anyone have experience ordering Surface from their Freeski site? I ordered a pair of skis two weeks ago, and still haven't received them.

I'm not the type to bash a brand on an internet forum, but this thread seems like the best way to get in touch with them. I've e-mailed rob@freeskibrands.com, mike@freeskibrands.com, info@freeskibrands.com, and sent a message via the "contact us" section of their website. Maybe I'm being impatient, but two weeks seems like a long time to wait, and the radio silence on their end is a little strange.

I could have ordered the same skis for less money and free shipping via The House, and I'm positive they would have been here by now. I'm a big supporter of independant companies so I wanted to order directly from the source, but I'm regretting it now.

Anyone have any advice? Am I not e-mailing the right people? Anyone have a similar (or different) experience?

I just re-read that post and realized how much of a whiny bitch I sound like. I'm not trying to be an asshole, I'm just hoping to get some kind of a response from at Surface and/or gauge the amount of time it usually takes for their product to ship.

Andrew - looks like they deliver tomorrow. Check your email my man. Sorry for the delay. Those skis were on backorder. Thanks much!!

are you guys having the same "New life's" for next season im seriously considering buying them

probably this fall when i get money.

how do the New life's ride being symmetrical?

should i mount them center?

or is it possible to mount them a bit back from center?

im only charging tight glades, moguls and cliffs

do you think the New life's are for me?

Alright, that video of the LAB 001's in the park looked insane but it brought a few questions to mind. With the deep dish rocker wouldn't carving be extremely hard as you'd have to get right over on your edges before it even started to turn? Also would hitting rails and all be extremely damaging to the base as all of the grinding would just be on the wax base? But apart from that i'd love to give those skis a throw around in the park and butter off and on to absolutely everything.

We are making the New Life's for sure. Its one of our most popular skis. They are definitely meant to be mounted right in the center but we do see some dudes mounting their New Life's 2-4cm back from center and are stoked.

Another thing, the New Life's are pretty stiff. You may want to look into the Live Life as well. They are much for versatile and a little friendlier.

Hope that helped.

You are right on all fronts. The LAB 001 are a little tricky to carve on groomers but not as bad as you'd think. Just run them on edge a little more than a normal ski.

And yes, hitting rails on LAB's would definitely jack up the bases. They are definitely a powder specific ski and not intended for rails but sometimes you can't help yourself!!

That looks like soo much fun. Available in a 191 next year? Maybe make it a little softer? Pretty please?? 191 lab 001 but barely stiffer than my line anthems would be my dream ski!

thank you!

i differently do need a stiff fat ski

the new life's are on my top five choices for new skis for sure!

I'm assuming there's no chance of getting hold of a pair of 183 one times, I want a bit more of an all mountain ski so....

Yo, have you tried contacting us directly, not here on Newschooler? I am sure you will get much better service by calling the office (801) 733-2655 or emailing info@surfaceskis.com or warranty@surfaceskis.com

I am certain you will get a response back immediately by handling it properly.

Thanks.

Say word, and does everything have extruded bases again or are some models getting sintered next year?
