Surface Noise.

Thanks for the advice, but unfortunately buying new skis at any price is not really an option right now. The only shop near me in jersey suggested I trade them in for a "discount" on a new pair of skis and bindings. Guess ill wait two weeks till I'm up at jay for a second opinion.

On a positive note I love your skis, everything I expected and more in pow and crud an surprisingly good on hard pack. I have gone surface and I won't go back

Absolutely loving my One Times! I get so many weird looks and questions about the skis rocker. Somebody the other day said, "Hey man i think your skis broken" reply, "If this is broken i need to break all my skis" Thanks a bunch for the great prices and cutting edge technology!

5 minutes with a gummy stone is barely a detune just saying. I tend to do my edges on the belt sander now but it used to take me hours before i gave up and went for the lazy option.

Talked with Skyler at Surface and all I have to say is customer service at Surface is amazing. One of my no times' edge peeled out on the tip and tail and I sent him some pictures he got back to me promptly with great news. I was nervous about buying a smaller companies product but after talking with them I experienced first hand that Surface is a great company of people that stand behind their products. I'm from the midwest and I am the only person riding surfaces at my home mtn. Can't wait to get my skis back so I can rep such a sick company. Seriously stoked on Surface! Thanks guys!

Not sure of this specific case but if you crash dead on in to anything hard (rock/tree/stump/rail) that can happen to any ski.

yeah i was wondering to see if anyone else has hast this happen. I didn't think of trees, rock, stump, rail, i just thought he was like scraping them on like a linex-ed truck or something (which i have stupidly done and peeled back my topsheets a little bit but not that much)

will causwell be coming out with any black or khaki gear. I really like the stuff out now but i would rather go a little bit more neutral colors +black and khaki go with basically anything. i would buy khaki causwell pants in a heartbeat, also you should make them am more tapered/carrot or whatever cut.

You're argument sucks. The dude really didn't say what happened so It could be anything. Surface hate is old news. Don't knock till you've tried.

I actually know the person who did this. He's not a great skier and doesn't ski particularly fast or hard, but he had a gnarly crash and definitely banged some rocks.

SERIOUSLY??? You never thought it might have been a rock? Despite the fact that the review you took that picture from explains that the owner did that damage by hitting a rock at 40mph? The he went on to say that he liked them so much he immediately bought another pair. Pay attention and get your facts right before you publicly denounce someone's product.

Sorry to quote all these pictures, but I too know the person that had this happen. A lot of this actually happened in Chile, as we were both there with Evolve Chile.

Most if not all, of that damage happen in Chile where the coverage was horrible. Rocks were everywhere, and at one point he tomahawked pretty bad and went through a field of rocks. Thats what I remember, Zack can say otherwise, but i'm pretty sure thats were most of it happened.

No ski could have survived that week of skiing, as i remember having to fix and epoxy roughly 6 core shots ranging from 1 inch long up to 4 inches long.

I didnt mean to hate on surface. This post was to direct people to a review praising surface. I realize my posts were poorly worded. I am pretty uneducated as to ski damadhe also as i have not done too much damage to my skis before. Im sorry if my posts came off as hate. I am actually interested in purchasing surface sometime in the future.

Just picked up my New Life's from UPS during my lunch break today. Just need to wait for my new brakes to come in before I can get them mounted up and then off to the mountains next week.

Just snatched a killer deal on last years no times, hopefully I'll like em. How subtle is the tip and tail early rise? Do they have somewhat of a rockered feel?

joystick is owned by surface, as for the ski im pretty positive its its own ski, and not just a different top sheet on a surface model, and yes they are park skis. and @pow the joystick these are probably a bit tall, i would pick up some blanks and in a year or two when your taller get the joystick these.

when do you guys finally start selling your products in europe more ? i think lots of people would be stoked on buying surface in the austrian/swiss/german area !

Tell this to your favorite shop, not to Surface. The shop has to have justification to begin conversations with Surface, usually not the other way around.

Next Time's are cool little skis for sure. They are a medium flex. Not overly stiff and not noodles. They are extremely light.

I would check out the Double Times from last season 11/12 --- we have some great deals on them at our website now.

Click HERE to see what we have left from last season.

I currently have a pair of double times from two years ago. They are beginning to get to the point where its time for a new ski. I have been looking at what you guys have on clearance from last year and have been thinking about a pair of new life's. I ski about a 50/50 park to all mountain split. I have read that these skis do pretty well all over, especially for being a big powder ski. I do like the wider feel of the double times in the park and I am wanting to try something with some rocker, but i was wondering if these skis would feel to big and cumbersome in the park?

I ride my one life's all over, it's really stiff, which makes it carve surprisingly well. They are also surprisingly light for a ski with those dimensions. I would definitely recommend them!

I would go with the One Life. Up until Christmas, I was skiing on Live Life 2's which was the precursor to the One Life. I used them everywhere and they were super fun. I just got New Life's and am just waiting to get them mounted. I wouldn't use them for park. They are absolutely massive (I got the 194's, but all lengths are 151/121/151) and I think they would just be too awkward for park.

Thanks man! The reason that I was thinking of the new life was because I can get last years in a 182 for 300 but the only have 189 one life's left. I am 5 11 so would they still feel super long with the rocker?

Couple things

1. Looking at the no time in 182. Would appreciate if someone could chime in on how flexy and what the tip/tail rocker is.

2. Buying from canada directing from the https://shop.freeskibrands.com/index.php?c=3

website. It estimated shipping at $60, anyone in canada buy directly from surface, want to let me know if they got dinged with extra border fees when the ski arrived at their house. I bought skis used last from the states, paid $50 for shipping then another $60 at my door. Looking to not repeat that.

Thanks

I have a lot of friends that ride surface and they love them. Like 3 of my friends ride the double time and they think they are the greatest things in the world. One thing I have heard is that binding rip out of the ski very easy. It's happened to 2 of my friends and it appeared to be a defect in the mounting plate. I guess you guys don't warranty binding rip outs, is there a reason behind this?

I just ordered New Life's from the Surface site (I live in Saskatchewan) and didn't get dinged with any extra charges. I payed 299 for the skis and 59 for shipping. I can't imagine it changing with any other skis.

Really want a pair of watch lifes or green lifes but i think im gonna have to settle for double times because im poor as dick. They seem pretty comparable besides the width and maybe the double times being a tiny bit softer.

Can anyone confirm this? I would get the double times from 10/11 if that makes a difference. The blue and khaki colored ones
