STOWE 10/11

Took first true woods runs this morning and didn't hit much. Broke trail out to the bench found about 40ish inches of base, 8-10 of fluff with a few thin spots. Pretty freaking fun!

word. i hit it up yesterday. is the bench the same as the kitchen table. right side off gondy? if so i smashed that up yesterday. best woods i found though were where they had the stupid downhill racecourse setup between the trails. didnt hit anything and a good 15 inches of pow for some reason

Working on the pipe, prolly have it later part of next week along with a sm - med park below it... and a few rails/jibs. Tyro starts after that and after a day off. Once the pipe and Tyro are done, I'm going back in to N Slope to re-work that s.o.b.

did the pipe have to be done first for USASA or somfin? i feel like the pipe isnt as important as the big park here on the east coast nd most ppl would agree it gets alot more use. Just out of curiosity no disrespect meant.

conditions were great today but it isnt snowing as much as before. alot of stuff is open and northslope has been fun. as for regular skiing on a not lots of fresh snow day i cant imagine it being that great but its stowe, youll stay entertained.

owen we should meet up this weekend and shred

yea word il be with ian wax ,adin ,will follis ,and george... whats your number

pm me if ya dont wanna say it here

its been dumping small flakes and have got at least 6" since this morning. Its a little heavier snow but skis well. lunch time special was cold face shots

just north slope for now but there is tons of fake snow whales on tyro and standard, so I would say those will be up by the end of the month. on a related note it is fucking DUMPING up here right now, pow day tomorrow! Who's goin?

this weekend was pretty tight. jumps are fun and the woods are getting ski-able. can anybody in the stowe area give a weather update as of now? snow or sleet? i guess as long as its not rain its just solidifying the base.

Elevation dependent snow that piled up in some places and flocks of Tourists. They were shaping the pipe yesterday, and still making piles on Tyro. Woods are skiing good but not as good as the mountains without lifts.

The heavy snow bands heading north look sexy. Hope the mixed stuff stays south.

FYI ya'll, Tyro will be closed Sat 22nd thru Wed 26th, do not duck the rope or come in from the sides, I don't want to kill anyone with my snowcat and skiing chewed up cat tracks is really not very fun at all.

Kurt, do you have another fancy 3d diagram for Tyro, whatchya buildin?
North slope has been wicked fun. My only suggestions if you care to hear them are that, even on a good speed day, the only way to hold enough speed for the second two jumps on the right is to try to take as much speed as you can into the first jump, not pop, and drift it far right. The transition from first to second is also pretty darned quick. Other than that though, awesome park! Thanks!

this, which is kinda shitty considering the whole park is already built. I usually hit the first and last, or straight air the first and hit the last 2. stoked for tyro...

I shall be up there tomorrow.....if anyone sees me shout it. striped line hoody, black pants, blue crowbars, afterbangs.

Yup, I am closing the pipe thurs 27 to install some stuff down there. please don't poach, I wouldn't enjoy it if I squished someone with the cat and neither would you.

Tyro's sick, I had some speed issues but I think that was more to do with my skis than the jumps. Kurt- I didn't get the chance to tell you this when I was riding but I speed check at least 3 times on my way into the kick rail at the beginning... and since you can't get the speed for the first jump from that rail unless you're hibbs... I think you should move that rail uphill a few feet and drop the angle on it a bit, the takeoff onto the rail was kind of flat anyway.

Aside from that, maybe bring the jump for the cannon back a few feet too so you can carry more speed into it while still having time to grip it.

Everything else was primo!

haha and sugarbush was supposed to be "the place to be" this year ..... ahahah
wicked big, wicked fun dood. Although I feel like nursing a sore body is going to be much more common this year.
P.S. I am selling EP Pro's from last season if anyone is interested. One mount and one very small edge compact (no effect on ski's performance). 250 takes em, Burlington area.

Please don't change any gaps. they are awesome. i know three requires a shitload of speed, but i would say cater the rails to the jumps.
i don't think i have ever been so excited to hit jumps at stowe. this is my third season here, and this is hands down the best.
not only that, the size and quality of tyro is probably unchallenged right now on the east coast, and sick even by west coast standards.

PLEASE KURT! do whatever it takes to keep the jumps at their current size!

Tyro is perfect, dont change a thing. the take offs are real poppy but really gradual, and the landings are real long and steap. do anything possible to maintain tyro!

tyro was sick today. overshot the second jump though by about 30 or 40 feet. landed crazy far down and felt like simon dumont. banger. i feel like i may have traveled 90 feet in the air fuckin insane. stepup was sick if you had the speed for it. def diggin the rainbow setup and cannon. skied wit jdila today on a visit from PA. good shit. End of the day I got down a nice cork 7, but didnt get that on film. got another alright one though. droppin that shit in like 20 once vimeo uploads, but here it is from facebook.http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=10150375923335276&comments&notif_t=video_comment

Right on, glad you like it, deff gotta be on your game, I have a little more room in between the 1st and 2nd jump so you mind your speed. I think the new snow yesterday was affecting speed, during testing on tues you could hit the kick rail into the 1st jump no prob, we'll se how it goes for a few days with any diff snow conditions.
