STOWE 10/11

hearing my room mate and my friend talk about their day literally put me in quite the bad mood. theyre going again friday. i have a 7:30 and 10:30 finals saturday....

as far as i know the gondola side will be opening saturday. once that happens we (meaning parks) get snowmaking priority. After that N Slope should be up within two weeks or less.

more features! what happened to the upper ones? It was fun today, but kinda weak with only the three features. those are gonna get mad overrun tomorow. gonna be packed.

Attention: I will be closing the 5th Ave rail park on Monday 13th to change out/around the features, there will be no park that day, sorry to put you out but you will have fresh features on Tuesday!

It is true that we will be blowing for the park on N Slope but we do have a little warm up on Sunday but after that it's on, Park for X-Mas ya'll!

"We received 2-3" of snow today before precipitation changed over to sleet and rain. It was a good morning to take advantage of Stowe's high-speed lifts and 7:30 opening to get in a lot of skiing/riding before the unfavorable weather arrived."

Haha yes I know what Stowe says it was like, but what was it really like? I don't see them saying "It was a terrible morning with winds up to 50 mph and rain all afternoon. The rails were all lopsided and visibility was piss poor"

So I'm goiung to close the 5th Ave rail park on Tuesday, not today, still a little rainy and don't want it to freeze up into icy decks and takeoffs. Sorry, but it's the best thing to do in this case.

The rails will hopefully be open today, the rails are not leaning but conditions a bit soft I would say.

It was kind of nice up there before it turned to sleet. Couldn't see much up top but the snow was soft and nice. Now its a sloppy mess, at least in the village

yo kurt, can we expect jumps on north slope by the end of the weekend, like sunday or monday?

i have no afflifiation with the stowe parks staff, but i would imagine the answer is no. yes we did recieve three feet of snow last week, but the inch of rain on sunday into sunday night did not help anything. this new snow this week and the low temperatures should allow for snowmaking and hopefully soon we will be able to hit some jumps. but in the meantime enjoy being out on the hill instead of drinking contaminated water because oil companies come into your village, deplete the land of all its resources, become filthy rich, while the rest of the community lives in poverty and is forced to deal with the social and environmental impacts of the oil production.

boy that got negative real fast. and yes i will be driving my gasoline powered car to stowe this weekend, maybe a few times, from burlington, on skis made from primarily petroleum based products. and what will i do about it? enjoy every second im out there.
but honestly, where did that mini rant come from haha?

yea they were pushing some shit around, looked like down box into the flat down set as an A-frame kinda up down deal. then they were working on an unidentified feature

three new features:Mellow Urban style box to slight up down to down with le donkey
The guns are blastin for N Slope.

along with the Fifth Avenue Terrain Park (3 features) & the Midway Terrain Park, which opens today with 5 features- This is what the stowes website says.... wheres midway?

fair. nigeria is a pretty fucked up place. what kind of society works by having the kids support their parents, thus causing parents to have as many kids as they want, increasing the population of their country waaaaay faster than any other country.

I'm looking at x-mas day to open N Slope, new area and lots of snow to move plus more rail setups = a little more time to build it right. Maybe sooner, MAYBE if things go well but plan on x-mas, my gift to you.

North Slope park looks like it's going to be absolutely AMAZING! sick work kurt, cant wait to see the finished product

someone post pics when its all set to go! i'm not gonna be back until mid january....i wanna see whats set up.
