STOWE 10/11

i agree. extend north slope for more rails, the more you can get in one run the better. halfpipe rails were usually a waste except for a few spring runs

The reason we could not have a longer park on N Slope was that trail came acrosss the bottom under the Lookout lift, so in order to have a longer park I would have to switch side of the trail.

Which I did.

The park will be on skiers right from crossover down to the base of the Lookout lift and yes I will put in more rail set ups, we also get a little bonus shot under the triple lift that heads to the base of the triple.

As far as the stuff after the pipe, I will be making that a small to medium park to provide a better stepping stone for progression between our small park and N Slope, you will not see thoes small jumps and stuff off the sides of the N Slope park anymore.

We'll start snowmaking for that park here in the next week or so as long as the weather is favorable.

Enjoy!

Oh yea, I will be putting stuff in on 5th Ave at the top of the triple lift the later part of this week, I hope for Friday.

1st trick rail jam is on Sat Dec 4th.

that was my thought but after careful consideration and thought while standing on North Slope and after looking at Kurt's diagram, I think it's going to work nicely.

The lift tower won't be an issue, I can design around it and still keep a good flow, there's tons of room on that side of the trail, plus since I won't be putting in as many rails below the pipe that gives me more to plant on N Slope.

I'll be creating a sketch up of 5th Ave set up for 1st trick here today or tommorrow and post it.

So the set up on Friday will look like this...

30' flat box from the upper set up, just a good standard feature.

New 30' kick rail

And I'm going to make one big set up out for our flat down rail and a down rail but set it up as up to flat to down, should make for some fun!!!

Just have to get thru the warm rain on Wednesday but I'll be planting on Thursday to open on Friday, enjoy!!!

mind blown...splat*

that lip is money, someone is gonna try a lincoln or w.e it would be off it. Up flat down looks tight

applause.

is that setup going to stay there after the rail jam? and are the flat up flat/downrail getting taken out?

Nope, 5th Ave is a rail park that will stay for the season, I will change it up from time to time, might pull stuff once we get ready to build N Slope, but other stuff will go in it's place fo sho!

The upper rails on Ridgeview will get pulled tho, I fought to keep them up but lost that battle, but you'll have new stuff to play with soon enough.

The entrance to the N Slope park is about 40 ft down from crossover so don't worry bout that, plus it's hard to keep thoes who don't belong out, you guys the park rats need to school the gapers but in a nice friendly "stay the hell out" kind of way.

So awesome. The UP - FLAT - DOWN is going to be sick! I see lots of disaster spins coming!
Very nice Google SketchUp work too Kurt.

guys the jam is open to anyone. It's just like last trick.
Stowe Mountain Resort unveils a small park to kick off the park season and opens it for a free flowing jam session for both riders and free-skiers. No registration required, great music and toss-outs.
Come slay.

today was far better than incredible. not much base below the 5% water content 20 inches, but we managed........
