Stevens Pass 2011-2012

everyone come to snoqualmie. Sick park, lots of jumps, no spring pass. inb4 cobracommander shits on snoqualmie
 
Too bad the snow level is going to be 3500ish feet this week, so Stevens can bask in snow, and Snoqualmie can rejoice in rain. At least all that thuggin polyurethane will pay dividends.
 
Hmmm, good point. Too bad alpy has a high-speed quad that funnels in to a double chair, and the only terrain really worth skiing is accessible from the double chair, and everybody and their grandma in the greater Seattle area knows that.
 
Dang my grandma thought alpental was some sort of tribal leader! My buddy Daves Grandma thought it was some sort of new toothpaste! We're not very hip though.

And i don't mind the lift lines at alpy, A very few number of people hit cliffs there so the landings stay fresh nearly all day. I like waiting there thinking of what i might do, hyping myself up. The glass is half full here.

You guys need to stop whining. Dont buy the spring pass, get the 12-13 pass for the same price as last year and ride into the spring. Everyone is hating, this is a big step for Stevens to extend the season for the first time ever. Alpental hasn't done Cinco de Mayo in years. They are always closed because it is not cost effective to operate. It is not easy for Ski areas to survive in Washington.
 
Except it's not the same prices as last year. The returning passholder price during the April-May sale is the same as what I paid as a FIRST TIME passholder last October. They've gone up ~$150 across the board. There just seems to be a general effort to make more money going on right now. I'm wondering if it isn't for expansion of some kind. Or it could be that that money is going to cover another month of operation next season. Hopefully the latter.

Fortunately, I will be eligible for a college pass come fall, so I can buy a spring pass and a college pass and still pay less than buying a season pass during this sale. Spring pass is a good deal, but they needed to warn us. The season passes were advertised as just that, and now we find out that it isn't even true anymore. It's kind of strange that my season pass could have gotten me ~150 days, but not another 9 at the end of the season...

I don't like that I have to buy another pass to keep riding my same mountain. I'm gonna have to cheat on stevens and get my spring pass to crystal.

So nice yesterday. Nobody up there, shin deep on groomers, knee-thigh everywhere else. Couldn't even find my own tracks it was snowing so hard.
 
We should have our own on "closing" weekend. Would be so much fun if we got a ton of people to do it.

This weekend is starting to look like an awesome one, high of 41 on saturday and 48 on sunday. Should make for some epic park skiing. Ill be up both days. Should be allot and allot of fun. Gaper day sunday?
 
I will be in jeans and a flannel and whatever other crazy shit I can find. You should show up mounted on a pony.
 
Great success was had on gaper day, even though hardly anyone was up. Park jumps are ridiculous right now. Wish there were a few more rails though. But for real, that two set next to showtime is way too much fun.
