Snow Watch 06/07

its happened again. david c. threw 1620, unnatural this time though. to celebrate he got a large milkshake at alpen and didnt finish it.
 
where is the picture of lynching el nino? i swear it was like a mexican boy or something...

i just heard a severe snow warning in the mtns on the weather....i dont know how you guys are doin, but i'm at home and we need snow so bad.
 
Yeah, we're going to get a lot of snow and then rain all over the place, snow levels up to 6000 on Thursday for most WA ski areas. However...

Snow level - 500-1000 feet, Heavy Snow and local accumulations likely. FRIDAY BITCHES!!!
 
I'm seriously considering just bringing two changes of gear and just sleeping in the car up at Stevens thursday night. Such a great storm moving in, its going to be a goooooooood weekend.
 
back X-mas of 98 (the really big snow year) my family was driving back from Pullman on I90 and we stop at the McDonalds at Ellensburg after hearing that the pass was closed for avalanch blasting for a few hours. then a guy comes and says that the pass is open agian so we start driving, soon we hit heavy trafic that really is not moving and it is just dumping out side, me and my brother built a snowman, and then cars start moving again but slowly then after about 4-6 hours after we left Ellensburg (now aroung 8 or 9 pm) we get to the spot where the state patrol is turning people around. so we need to head back to ellensburg but the road back is cloased to, the only place available is Cle Elem. and so we drive around thinking we will be spending the night in the car. since all the churches that were letting people sleep inthem were already full, and then we go to safeway to try and get some food but safeway is sold out, then we find out the School complex is letting people sleep inside of it, (Elementry, middle and Highschool buildings are all conected) So there are about 5,000 or more people who got trapped between Ellensburg and the pass who are staying in this School over night.
 
Wow, super windy up there at stevens. The demo day must suck. Only 2 lifts are open. Last hour (9am hour) gusts over 70. shit
 
It was some gnarly shit. My one run on Hogs was epic, the daisy runs were ok with some little drops off that big rock and some others under the chair.
 
i bet some of those wind drifts were starting to get deep. of course itll expose some of that ice, but seek out those lee slopes and itll be delicious. Curious to see what will happen tomorrow night with that next storm.
 
snoqualmie was closed today as well, watching the planes flying over work on final to sea-tac, they were almost at a 45 degree angle with the crosswind! Would NOT have been a good day to fly or ski.
 
is it gonna be windy the whole day or just start to get really windy in the evening and night tomorrow?
 
that would have been so damn freaky. at least the pilot had enough sense to give up that first attempt.

but the weather right now, brings a tear to the eye. so beautiful
 
that snowfall forecast map is cool. its all purple and shit. its great to have serious finals during one of the biggest storms, just fantanstic. oh and bronchitis
