Snoqualmie/Alpental Thread

Kevin, did you get busted on Weds? I was hoping your boy would be cool seeing how you have paid your dues up there. That guy is always a terd. I helped him pull his car out of a ditch last year and the very next day I forgot my pass and he was like who are you, I cant let you up... I wanted to go get my shovel and bury his car after that.

Park at central was nice today, that bottom jump in the big line continues to be $$$$$$$.

Pipe has been cut since I was there last, and much nicer to ride.

The quarter after the pipe is also up, and that thing is monsterous. A bit scary as well, I don't want to land flat or deck out, as both are painful options.

There are couple of new jibs skiers left on the upper section, being a liftpole rail and a that odd stationwagon jib. Good to see new features in though.

Park crew was out a couple times, cleaning up lips and generally making life better on the features. Props to them for doing their jobs so well.

Dude, there is much to be grateful for, and while there may be a problem or two here and there, overall it is a pretty damn good park that will not hold you back if you want to go big or scare yourself, but still allows for fun to be had.

Much better park than many areas and resorts.

well then ill just save you all dumbasses the trouble of finding out anyways.... I do work for park crew! TA DAH! so the only gums that are flapping are that of your moms vag duuuuuuuude. ok i think i made my point. unless the structure is horribly unfixable it will go up, the only thing fucked is wood planks.. aka the stairs, aka new planks and screws however we have 4 or five huge events in the next few weeks so just hold on your panties until march and get your mind blown.

i looked at your pictures and remember seeing you around, on the park crew.

im excited to see whats going to be up soon!

My comment wasn't directed to you whatsoever.

I'm talking about all these little kids who just run around talking shit on everyone and everything because it's the cool thing to do.

I'm tired of people trying to act like snoqualmie doesn't have the best park in the state, because they definitely do. No other mountain can even come close to comapring in creativity and amount of features, so again, if you all think snoqualmie is so shitty, then just leave. It makes the lines shorter for the rest of us.

We had quite the crew rolling around today. Good stuff, lots of fun was had, and much destruction was wrecked upon the helpless features of Central.

I was thinking about it, but I am more hungover than I anticipated and would be a danger on the road.

The quarter at the bottom of the pipe was super fun today, but the landings on the big line never melted.

I am also placing an order for a another huge dump, as I miss pow skiing and am tired of the park.

hey if anyone is going up today, tuesday and has a extra seat, please let me know. ill help split the gas money too

wtf is up with all that shit over on holiday chair? Why dont they set up a 3 jib line over next to the pipe where there usually is a box, rail and table. And theres absolutely nothing at west right now...

it keeps the newbs out of the park and out of the way, I support it. Hopefully they'll put something good over onthe right side of the lower park, who knows.

damn that second jump is HUGE! i tried hitting it once after hitting the first... big mistake. i cased it hard. i don't see how anybody could hit both of those jumps, but i saw some guy do it.

the pipe was pretty nice as well, a little icy, but it warmed up as the day went on.

the troll bridge is built up so much now! you need a lot of speed.

a nice warm day.

yea they need a little bit of fine tuning....

about the toll bridge (and this is totally a claim) it was really sick today, and if you carry enough speed you can shifty over it and tap the top... which by the way is the coolest feeling ever... until you over shoot and land on the flat.

Yeah, and this isn't a claim either, but you can also hand drag it really good now, and film it from the lift. But I'm just saying, not a claim.

But yeah, I actually was happier with the park. I went Wednesday and it was pretty nice. The rails and shit are nice and lifted from the ground. The flat-gap-down box setup at the bottom is really nice. I really want to see a rail setup like that. The jump was good, just a little flat of a landing, but speed was fine after just airing the first jump. The toll bridge is just awesome now. There is like a 2ft drop off of it to the landing and its really high. You actually don't need that much speed to hit the sides right now because the take off is so poppy. I found that out the hard way airing over the whole thing and making a divit in the landing with my face. But deffinetly fun.

I guess all I can say is that it'd be cool if they were able to make some more jumps, instead of just hitting 2 per run. (to someone on the park crew) Are you guys gonna try and make any jumps in the top half of the park? That step-up was pretty nice last year.

the third jump is always super fun.

When the second jump gets built up top, it will be the shit. I love the stepover style jumps.

since the last time i was up there, but its been like 3 weeks because of the pass being closed and school and other stuff.

i have a request, some more rails would be great. maybe some with kinks? personally im getting real tired of all the boxes.

has anybody hit the station wagon thing? im confused at how to hit it, the way way its set up.

That second jump will murder someone if they don't move the takeoff back. That takeoff looks like some of the ones from Teddybear Crisis in Sweden, and the landings there were 80-90 feet away. But hey, it is fun to handplant over.

What is up with the Alpental snow report? There is no way they got 17" in the past 24, and 34" in the last 48. It is sunny on the pass!

Good. But unless you hit it in the morning, the way the mountain faces makes the right wall get in the shade early on, and gets icy quick. But it's nice to have it back.

park was clean today. tons of gaper little kids but w/e. 2nd jump you needed to straightline to clear but it felt good, kinda like a huge stepdown really.

^ you really dont need that much speed... its such a big jump for the little distance you need to cover. but it is certianly big

idk i had to straightline from top and skip first jump to clear it but im not a huge guy so....

were u up there today? ^

^ ya ya there was a big group, then there were like a few groups of less skiers like 2-3-4. i was with 1 skier and a boarder. you?

I was there... but had to leave around 1ish because I cracked one of my bindings. I saw some dude dressed in all brown throw a backflip off the first jump. I saw the group of skiers, one of which had invaders so small they looked like snowblades on him. I have to say, even though I was there by myself, I had a ton of fun...

After a while, it got so warm, falling on the jumps felt like falling on powder!

hahahahaha the kid on invaders that are super short is deffinatly koble.. was he in blue jacket with white oakley stretch pants?

i bet i know who that group of ten was. T.S.A

I had fun up there yesterday. I couldn't get the speed needed for the second jump, so I played on the quarter at the bottom of the pipe. You can it it on the furthest right side when it goes down as a step over to the landing on the back, it is pretty fun.

Who's hitting up the limo jam on Wednesday?

i will hopefully be there... but i have soccer tryouts and getting there would be super hard afterwards.

but i know the rest of tsa will be there

looks sick but i dont think i would wanna try anything besides just doing a normal grind/slide. it would be mad painfull to screw of on a 270 on or switch ups
