Snoqualmie/Alpental Thread

i loved the pipe yesterday, middle was a little bumpy but it was nice.

anyone go to oakley rising? jw if they gave out free goggles like last year

Jea that was my buddy Tyler, I will post up the pics once I get them from him...he was taking pics off of the reflection of the goggles for a project, he got one really good one of someone in a white/blue jacket???

Anyways I will post them up soon.

tonight was super fun. more rails put in such as the billboard rail, kink rail, big kindof up rail i guess and up top they put a flat step down to other flat box o and plus a new jump up top. pretty small though. anyways, who was that up tonight doing the hand drags on the toll bridge. those were sick

good day today conditions were nice. whoever popped their shoulder today and messed it up good luck to you dude hope its better

so would some one like to explain the idea to me of a street style lip to flat rails. Do they really want people to not spin on? or is it just because Luke and whatever other skier on the terrain park crew have no back bone to stand up to the boarders? Skiers are not pussies like boarders, we like gaps to the rail, we also know that there is more to life then lip slides and back side board slides.

hey dude, don't hate on luke and bo, theyre nice guys that kill rails, its just that snoqualmie park crew operates on the skateboard style philosophy, so rails should be like you find them in urban (and with little to no jump-in)

Things were pretty decent up there today.

They finally have a man-sized rail selection set up, which makes for a bit more fun. I love the tower rail up top and the propane tank below the quarter.

Shout outs to Billy and Sushiman for shredding the gnar oh so tastily.

I think I am going to have to agree with this a bit too. Just for the fact that you end up landing 1/2 way down the rail, and it's not as fun/impossible to spin on. It makes the rails seem really short. I'm all for skateboard elements put into the park, but for launching onto flat rails, skiing and snowboarding is different. We want to spin on and gap to them. If they want to do that with some rails for some reason, then maybe they could add 2 smaller lines. 1 with urban take offs, and 1 for spinning on and gapping to the rails. Just have half of them one way, and half the other. Then everyone's happy.

I like the new added bigger rails and stuff though. Now if they just beef up those take offs and move them a bit back, some shit could get thrown down.

The snow was really hard today too. I kept getting owned on that little 2 box train at the top. It was bad. It should be nice if the sun comes out though.

i dont get why you guys have to constantly criticize the fuckin snoqualmie park.

cant you just have fun with whats fuckin offered to you? jesus i can go in the snoqualmie park and have the funnest day ever on anything they have set up seriously why do you guys over analyze and care so much just go have fun

fuck

Because it could be better? It is really cool how there are no good rail's in WA for skiers. Stevens Rails are small, and Snoqualmies are decent length but need to have gaps to them, Street style rails are cool and all but they are pretty lame when it comes to flat rails (maybe one or two but not the whole park). The billboard rail could be dope as fuck if it had a nice 8-10ft gap up to it. but instead it is the equivalent to a 10ft flat rail with a drop on the end.

What's park...?

Tim, another friend and I hiked Pineapple to the top down to Great Scott's Bowl on Saturday, was untouched.

Good News

the two flat big rails at the bottom of the park are now normal gap style take offs, no longer urban style.

also a step up jump was put made after the 2nd jump next to the pipe. its is about 40 feet. but you cannot get enough speed to clear, in today's snow conditions. even if u skip jump 1 and 2

sweet. gaps to rails. amazing. unbelievable. absolutely incredible.

Ladies and Gentlemen the grand state of Washington has a full sized and well set up rail in it.

this is totally from a photographers perspective. I have no plans on hitting either.

WHY? Why do they put up the good stuff when I leave for spring break? I have been looking for a huge step up all year. GRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Have fun on that guys.

uhhhh good question, thats just eyeing it so im not sure anyways, its big enough that even if you just gain as much speed of the 1st and 2nd jump rollers and try to go as fast as you can, you will still come out a little short, like 10+more feet. but the snow was slow that day, so im not sure

but definitely as big as the 2nd jump.. and pretty sure its 1.5 times as big

besides the conditions being fuckin hard and icy today the setup is great. altho the step up is hard to clear unless you straight from top of 1 jump
