I'm 6'2" and I can safety slide. Most people just don't try /practice safety slides because they're too busy adding another sw'up or 180 to their combo.

Its important to note this but, the fact that its now just another competition has made it a poor move instead of what would have been considered normal before. I still think its more about getting people slightly outside the comfort zone instead of burying them with something they have no chance at doing. Obviously its the tasteful way to play but now this seems like any other spin to win get people on things they cant do comp. Not much different from xgames etc.

The other one didn't get deleted. Nobody cared and it got bumped down to page 2 or 3.

Isn't that the point of a forum.... everyone gets an opinion. You cant just delete stuff because you don't like what people are saying. That's a new level of control and insecurity this isn't meant to be twitter 2020 era. As for SLVSH removing comments that is kinda a bitch move its not like they have to read them and kind of just validates haters opinions.

GGs. I will say, as difficult as the LH safety appears to be, its just not a cool trick to watch over and over. It is validating to see Noah land the big spins on / off (he deserves to be in), but his games are boring no doubt.

His summer setup combos/edits were crazy and translate very well over to the rails at Grandvalira.

Also people be ripping on Noah but hopefully they realize others have been out for blood too. Seb realizing Max can't really 3 swap on flat rails and Max throwing corks knowing Seb isn't totally comfy at it, totally cut throat imo

Yea I think Woodsy gave it to Seb because he gave Max two really loose tricks, proper reffing imo, then seb threw that loose sw 6 too kinda made up for it

agreed. Woodsy let a couple of max's calls slide but those werent as bad. I personally dont think it makes sense for a couple iffy calls to add up and give back to the other guy but at the end of the day its up to the ref and none of us are the ref so it dont rly matter ?

It's an insanely technical trick and also high risk too, you could probably fuck yourself up if you get it wrong, not like doing a safety slide. I'd let him off personally too.

Leniency on defence makes the game a lot fairer, imo.

Incredibly unsurprised, even with trans people on World Cup podiums and with NS-backed content around them.
 
So I did some math:

in the 3 games noah has played:

-noah set ~70% of the time

-noah failed ~60% of opponents sets

-noah set ~73% safetyslides

-noah gave ~73% of letters by safetyslide or hand drag (100% for first two games)

There is no denying that noah is a dope skier and a super influential person in the community.

But, noah clearly is not a good fit for the SLVSH cup format. He obviously has some tech in the bag (disaster 6), but he can’t keep up with the kids.

Noah is playing like he needs the cash, which is fair I guess, but i think that joss and SLVSH need to listen to the community.

Hating on noah is dumb, but he shouldn’t be in SLVSH cup. Imagine if another skier set 74% backslides, and for two games in a row, got all 5 letter against their opponent with them.

just my opinions, and my math could be off.

respect to noah, joss, and the rest of the SLVSH crew, but please listen to what the community has to say.
 
Tbh anyone could do this for any rider, I love Max Moffat was my pick to win it all, but how many letters does he get on people for bio 6, and cork 6 prob a lot.

It's becoming a lot more common in skateboarding to not use the word. There has been a big increase in trans skaters over the last few years which probably plays into to culture shift.

I'm aware that two words that sound the same can have different meanings. Or that someone can say it without intending any kind of harm. But it's also easy to say transition instead.

Refs have been pretty loose on a lot of calls, maybe attempting to appease the idiots who keep complaining about people winning on "niche tricks", or maybe just to engineer a longer game so the videos are at least 10 minutes.
 
I think its hilarious that noah is just baked out of his mind calling safety slides over and over cause hes to high to call anything else. There was one point where ryan called a set, noah didnt hear a word he said, then dapped ryan up and made a sound akin to a dog being throwing up.
 
"Inspired" by Noah's safety slides, I attempted a LH safety slide for the first time ever. Needless to say, that if you're above 6', this trick isn't meant for you.

Two broken ribs. I blame Slvsh.
