SLVSH Grandvalira 2024

Noah is from Spain ??

I am not sure what the average size of a male is in Spain though ?

DobbydaChris is from Scotland, I'm currently there visiting family, everyone is shorter. Don't know about Noah though

Noah is Andorran and while I respect he's trying to win if you're gonna be all about style then you should throw in some cool lines to show it off. Hes skiing one of the more non comps compy

I understand some of the sympathy for noah. but when its very single set? and nearly every set against him results in a letter? brochacho truly sacrificed everything for the safety slide and now seems to be unable to do anything without it. struggling to do switch to switch on a 10ft down rail as a "pro" is embarrassing

I get why people are defending Noah but, c’mon. It’s not really in the spirit of the game to spam a trick that most people can’t do. This will probably drastically change SLVSH going forward, everyone will just have one freakish trick they can pull out of the bag to rack letters.

There needs to be some kind of rule against repeating tricks. Can’t call the same grab more than 2-3 times per game, idk. But this isn’t good for SLVSH.

"Its not in the spirit!!! We need more rules! More rules is in the spirit of SLVSH!!!"

LOL fuck off, you kids have the worst fucking ideas.

100%. Like i hate bringing up the "spirit of the games" or whatever, but you are absolutely right when you say it is against it.

It just makes it fun for nobody and there needs to be a rule about repeating tricks. We even used to do have rules against it 15 years ago when we were playing slush in our little parks, because this exact thing would always happen. Someone doesn't have 4s on down? all of the sudden it's just different variations of 4s on until they're knocked out. People would just quit because it's so lame.

Also, maybe unpopular opinion here, but I really see no difference between what he is doing here and spin to win. They are both just doing tricks that you know other people can't do, with the only purpose being to win. Sure, maybe a safety slide is steezy, but you can't seriously be arguing anyone on earth does safety slides every hit for the steeze. It's because he knows he wins.

Noah is a sick skier btw, but it is pretty lame how he's winning. Both things can be true at once.

I feel like everyone should do the tricks they want, they‘re competing - we‘re just watching.

For me personally it get‘s boring seeing a safety slide every round, i would love to see some variety and different tricks.

Can‘t force anyone to do anything though, just hope we get a match up with a bigger variety of tricks so these rounds are more enjoyable to watch

I will remember SLVSH Grandvalira 24 as the cup where noah made all the little zoomies cry and shit themselves out of fear of a safety grab

tbh there wasnt a single switch tail butter executed that whole game in my opinion. but sick game regardless nico looked so smooth and ryan just wouldnt back down

I'm pretty sure Noah is born in Spain lives in Andorra, ya? Which Spain and Andorra are super similar and I know Noah is a local dog there and is how henny get there.

Yoooo they deleted the entire ass slvsh thread. Then someone made a thread about the slvsh thread getting deleted and that got deleted too

Nico and Ryan was probably the heaviest back n forth game so far. Both those guys have crazy spin and rail control. Mind blowing how good Nico is as one of the best pipe skiers in the world

Insane that there were enough pissy shits angry that a skier can do tricks other skiers can't that they deleted the thread, comments are turned off on Youtube, and one of the creators of Slvsh said he doesn't feel like continuing making videos.

People need to give their heads a shake and stop being whiny turds.

On another note, QF 2 was insane. One of the best.

Did anyone catch the Ryan look-back in the middle of a lip 4 continuing 2 when the game is tied at 4 letters? Boss shit hahahaha

Close game today. Not my favourite skiing in this one compared to the kadi vs ian one but still had me very worried when max almost lost the game a couple times. I was kinda confused what happened with the 7 tail tap. IF anyone knows what happened there do u mind explaining to me? Thanks

Yeah that confused the hell outta me, I think he was trying to explain why he didn't give Ben the letter

He was saying Benjamin Carlund's counted because the hand down didn't have weight behind it, since it was more of a swipe, so green meaning good.

Max's was red meaning bad because he didn't cork it I believe.

oh ok that makes a lot more sense with both of theirs. Crazy set though, superhuman stuff

Wow max giving almost all of his letters on inverted axis 450/630’s onto rails. make sure you all get angry about it like you did with Noah

Came here to mention the same thing

kinda went the same way with the tap calls on the horseshoe as well.

Was a fun game to watch though. Max really driving the nail in the coffin at the end.

kinda interesting that "to switch" did not matter on that safety slide to switch. didn't affect the outcome I guess

I watched it back, benjamin never specified which direction out, I think adding to switch was just an editing mistake

another crazy game. Wanted kadi to win but seb was going off. sw6 f2 is insane and even though akdi got swept it was still insane skiing from both of them. Semis w/ ryan vs noah and max vs seb are also gonna be some incredibly stacked games

actually crazy that they both put down sw 6 p2 lol. seb is such a machine, his game vs max is gonna be so crazy

This counts as a nosebutter?

Thos revert things sholdn't be counted as nosebutter. It's not a nosebutter if your tails are in the ground.

yet another insane game. Noah def got the sw2 back2 grab it hard to see but its def there. I noticed two mistakes on the fwd/sw in the editing but both guys did what the other one called so thats fine i guess. REally close game too i love how when ryan made his comeback he still went for a hard trick instead of playing it safe with some easy trick noah wouldnt land. I personally wanted ryan to win cause hes awesome but I'm kinda happy for noah too. Assuming max wins his semi, it should make for a very interesting final considering both max and noah have extremely different styles. Overall loved watching that one though.

If people are still butthurt about noah at this point youre just a child. him lacing the switch 6 and lip 4 was pretty sick. Ryan even showed you can get the land holding and its not impossible for everyone besides Noah. Noah explained it, this is slvsh cup and you play to your strengths. tho Ryan definitely could have called another right spin and won.

couldnt agree more. Ryan is a g for trying something that would be easier for noah than unnat spins.

Super bummed about Ryan going out. Really wanted him to win this cup and get some good exposure.

On the other hand hyped that Noah won on two crazy redemption letters, proving that the dumbasses saying he has "no tech" are just ignorant.

the noah haters are dead silent after this one

brother he still only did safety slides. I'm honestly not even mad about that anymore, but the annoying thing this time is when it was tied on 4 letters and Ryan decided to be a g and not finish noah off by doing a sw right trick that he knew he wouldn't be able to do. then soon as the set is switched and the roles are reversed noah immediately called that 4 land holding. props to noah for winning on revenge, but still lame of him.

was hoping ryan would win, but Noah put up a really good game. personally thought giving it to Ryan for the 2on holding was soft he came off pretty early but ref was pretty consistent with early off calls after that.

man thats 3 sick skiers down via safety slide. At least this one was a fun game, Ryan laced the safety and Noah laced the 6. just kind of bothered me how Ryan could've put him away with a right trick but made it easier by going left :/ is what it is

Did he land on his fingers or am I tripping??? This was from todays game.

He's basically doing a backslide and grabbing the other ski- he lands and slides all his weight on the back foot. It's wild how consistently he's able to do these. Everyone who's been hating does not grasp the subtlety.
