With rail jam season starting this Saturday at Avon Day, I think it's time to start this. There are some big plans for this season in the works at Sundown, so let's discuss here (instead of last years thread...)

BTW, here's the list of the upcoming rail jams Sundown is putting on:

Avon Day - 9/25 @12pm

Suburban Sports / Meatheads - 10/2

Sun and Ski, Avon, ct - 10/9

Outdoor Sports - 11/6

Colorado Ski Shop - 11/13

Simsbury Celebrates - 11/27 @ 4pm

heard plans for a halfpipe, 70 foot step over and expansion on the backside with a new high speed quad. CAN ANYONE CONFIRM THIS?!?!?!

The 18ft "single barrel" (it's more of a really thin flat rail) and the rainbow box will be there, as far as how it's gonna be set-up will be decided either Friday night or Saturday morning. I'll be there Friday night to help begin the set-up so I'll have updates up on my FB page once I know more, and if I remember I'll update here too.

yes, snow will be trucked in from the ISCC via the Ski Sundown Dump Truck, there should be PLENTY of snow.

i cant ski in the jams so i'll be filming a lot and making edits, dont know for sure if ill be there but i definately plan on going

It is free at pine point school on the soccer field this weekend. There is also something with meat heads the next week end and another jam the next

pm'd but, The Avon Day Jam is being held at the soccer field in between Pine Grove and Thompson Brook schools in Avon (we're usually on the Thompson Brook side). There is no cost, it starts at noon, but you're welcome to come early. Also, remember to bring your helmets and if your under 18 you have to have a waiver signed by your parents (you can have your parents sign it there or download this one and bring it with you signed: http://skisundown.com/documents/release-agreement.pdf ).

thanks flash.

that's all acurate.

DC and Sartorious will be helping out with some prizes.

this session has a wierd format becuase its part of teh town's festival. so there will be points in the day where i have to have you guys stop for a while here and there so we can have awesomeness like the robotics demonstration and gymnastics shows. oh yea, the star spangled banner and all that fun.

10/2 is Suburban Sports in Berlin. Rail Jam / Movie Premier / coupons for the up coming season. should be good.

Probably the same as Avon Day (rainbow box) maybe the new 20ft flat bar if there's enough snow.

going to move equipment around for Suburban Sports W/ meats starting pretty soon. this should allow us to focus on getting more snow to the spot.

left the 20 foot narrow rail and the rainbow box on the trailor from avon day. feel like that'll work fine.

remember, this one is on pavement. i've got carpeting and hopefully plenty of snow.

https://newschoolers.com/ns/forums/readthread/thread_id/565793/page/2/motherfucker.... does this kid have a chance at being compensated and how much are we talking, can the mountain be affected in any way by this dumbass?

On a day pass it has an agreement on the back saying about how if you get hurt you can't hold ski sundown responsible, however you don't have to sign anything for a day pass so it could be held against them. However I believe you have to sign an agreement for a season pass. so if he had a season pass he probably can't win. I feel bad for him but going after someone else when it was your fault is just sickening.

So.. what you're saying is if you sign something saying you can't sue if you get hurt, you can still sue if you get hurt...nahh

Simply purchasing the pass means you've accepted the agreement, but there are loop holes through that, the kid was a minor, his parent bought it for him, trust me this trial is more complicated than anyone on this site thinks, Law is such a complicated thing, If I had to put money on this, I bet the kid will walk away with a couple extra bones in his pocket, I wonder how much of a hit Sundown can take?

What kind of loopholes are you talking about? I'm not questioning your credibility, I just want to know more about what could be held against sundown.

^^^^PLEASE DON'T DO THAT HERE - THAT'S WHAT THE OTHER THREAD IS FOR - let's keep this one positive about the upcoming season and events, please!

I don't have any credibility in civil law, I'm a CJ major so I know criminal law, civil law is not my forte so take what I say with a grain of salt. In a court of law a lot of things would surpise you. The fact that the child was a minor and didn't purchase the ticket may disregard the liability agreement, also the minor may not have know about the liability agreement on the back of the pass which could null the agreement, there are a ton of possibilities, it's all up to the jury. I don't know all the details and I don't know what the liability agreement on sundowns tickets are so like I said before take what I say with a grain of salt.

^Sorry, didn't see that, forget what I just said, btw what time does the rail jam at suburban start, and at what time are they showing the film?

Rail Jam starts at noon (like Frenchy said), Move starts after the rail jam - I believe they're shooting for 4, but I'm not positive on that. Last year they tried showing halfway through the rail jam, they might try that again cause it gives us time to fix everything up, but it was kinda hard to get everyone to stop hitting the feature and go watch the movie...

Jarrod wont answer any of the questions. he cant talk about the case at all and neither can anyone else that works at the resort. we all hope this wont effect sundown alot and if everything goes the way we want to hopefully not at all.

just keep supporting jarrod, bob and sundown. because that is all we can do now

Not specifically about the case, just wondering if things like this are serious or have there been a few in the past similar

I am interested in this too, But like flashkick said let's keep it about the ski season in here. So please pm me.

As quoted by Fluff in the other thread "Sundown won it's case" so there's you're answer to you're earlier question.

And, there's no snow to affect right now...but rain means more water to make snow with, so right now, rain is good. Once the temps drop, then the rain can stop...hmm, that should be a shirt or something...

That stock gets added every day multiple times a day - especially now that it's colder and hockey season has started, I wouldn't worry about it at all, not too mention, we don't have another scheduled rail jam till Wilton in like 2 weeks, and some of that snow comes from down there, so there's plenty of time for it to come back.
