I know there are only like 10 people on here who ski Showdown but I figured with opening day tomorrow a thread couldnt hurt. They will be opening tomorrow with all lifts running and most of the runs open with 100% natural snow. I am pretty sure they are the first in the state to open without snowmaking. They are only reporting a 10-15" base but I have been skiing up there since November 22nd and havent hit a rock yet. The entire mountain has a bomber base thanks to an early season dump and a week of warm weather plus lots of people have been hiking it and the cats have been packing where they can. With a foot of snow in the forecast Friday night Saturday and Sunday should be really good. If youre a park rat don't bother coming. I dont remember having terrain park features on opening weekend in a long time especially with a base so thin but you never know. Also some friends and I maintain a blog site that will have some pictorial updates of whats going down. www.sd406.blogspot.com and www.shodownmontana.com for the lowdowns
