Showdown Thread!

I'm confused, does this mean there is no longer a parking lot party closing weekend? or is this something different?

ya i dunno bout the parking lot thing anymore....it mite still go on.....i was confused to cuz i was told the crash fund money was used for the parking lot party, but than there was a seperate party for that....so im dumb i guess

Oh damn, I thought you went back to Great Falls because your vehicle wasnt in Neihart when we passed through.

This how much snow my mom has at her house in Great Falls, nothing compared to what Showdown has been getting.

Damn, I wish I was there today. 14" overnight and 24" this week so far. On top of the 3' we got last week. All these numbers are from the lodge so that means up higher there is even more snow. One day last week when 9" was reported overnight, there was closer to 16" on top based off the fact that the chair clearance on the unloading ramps is supposed to be 18" and the chairs were barely missing the top of the snow before they got raked off.

Sooo deep today. One of the best days i've ever had at showdown. Bluebird all morning too. Worth being "sick" from school for sure.

Today was sick, the near 6' of snow we got really filled everything in. The triple chair cliff is nonexistant, Glory Hole was straightlined by myself, Kyle, and others, the trees are ridiculous, and its not supposed to quit snowing anytime soon.

Its dumping big wet flakes in Great Falls right now, up to a foot possible tonight at Showdown with a chance of snow everyday. Should be a killer closing weekend.

from what ive herd saturday is the last day of snow.. but who knows.. its definitely a bummer that showdown is closing this weekend... where was this snow in january and february!!

Ya, I just rechecked the weather and it looks like >=80% chance of precip through Saturday night and 39 and sunny on Sunday. It will be a fun day. Friday and Saturday should be deep though.

i hope saturday is a sick pow day then sunday a nice sunny spring skiing park day (and hopefully the park will be groomed). that would be my ideal perfect closing weekend.

u guys are killing me with all these snow reports. makin me jeolous. i was originally planning on going up to moonlight tomorow and killin it there in the park and stuff. even know there getting some pretty wet snow and alot of it i guess. wet and fresh. haha. but catie informed me i could ride with her, this is all depending on weather if we are to leave tonight or tomorow. if we leave tonight im not sure what im going to do or if i even am going to go. but anyways showdown guys, coming to shred, its going to be a powder day for sure, so help me god. moms got a new house and is moving in its set in stone. figured i go and help her move a few things.

hopefuly i will see most of u guys tomorow. be expecting me tomorow... hopefully.

I was up at showdown yesterday.. The snow is melting fast but we still managed to get a little jibtastic around the cat shed.... handycam edit coming soon ( if i can make my internet work better)

Should be a solid opening Friday, especially after this last storm boosting the snowpack to 53" Its been skiing Great since Halloween. I skied Dynamite this weekend and got a face shot every turn and didnt even see a rock other than the cliff band on top which I packed out a lip on top of for opening day.

Sick weekend! I hyper extended my knee so i took the day off but it was a good one. There is so much snow, Showdown is in 3rd place for the nation for total snowfall this season. Also, I heard some fairly reputable rumors that there is a lot more budget and cat time available for the park this year. Im a little skeptical but we will see with time.

We hiked up and built a little jump today, there is probably close to a foot of new snow and I think there is a chance for more snow tonight.

Cool 3-55 gallon welded barrel jib got set up today in the park, unfortunately i have no photos of it. I would give it a 5.5 on a scale of 1-7 with potential for that number to increase once everything gets dialed. Showdown is definitely stepping up their park this year compared to anything they have previously built.

That event sounded sick, one of the kids from the freestyle team up here, Dylan Hill went over and did it. It sounded super fun and he got to rip some bumps . Sounds like a good idea for a contest

Nice man, ya it was a good time, nothing to crazy just chill and relaxed and fun. I wrecked myself pretty good during the bumps off the jump. The big air was pretty sick, like 40-45 ft.
