SAGA+LDC+TREW+FD read up

i think this is a cool idea. however, you shouldnt be aloud to keep the suits. i would be very jealous. send them back or something and they could do like a follow up. maybe even perform some tests on waterproofness/breathability or something.

3 for 4. Damn you are one lucky dude. Good luck with FD.
Good idea I really look forward to the information you gather about all the coats it will really help consumers and companies next year.

i cant think of reasons why or why not he should keep them. not keeping them seems like its a lot more professional and hes doing it strictly for a review and not 4 pieces of outerwear, but keeping them would be cool hahah so i dunno.

holy crap. Perfect job for this dude man, he'll ski them hard and put each suit to the test for sure. Too bad that after his season each suit will only have 1/4 of a season of abuse to it unless he splits the suits up among his friends so we can see what a season of hard abuse does. Killer idea for independent ski outerwear companies comparison

yeah, its a super good idea, but this is FD's first season so its a tad unfair in the sense that some other companies have had chances to fix previous errors and mistakes from the past. Also, i bet sometimes shit happens to gear that isn't the companies fault and wouldn't happen if the customer had chosen the exact same model of jacket but just a different one. Trying to say that, even though gear is or isn't reliable i'd still be happy buying some gear that has been known to have a few mistakes, as long as i knew the company had my back. ex) i heard tons of good reviews about saga's customer service. so i wouldnt worry if a heard about a couple mishaps with their jackets cause i know they're legit

I couldn't help myself from just giving a little disbelieving chuckle when i saw all the companies who are "in"... but i guess that just goes to show how legit some could be

great! i think its still fair to include FD considering they claim to have seen a problem with the outerwear industry and are out to fix it. i think this is great, and will be in touch with these various companies.

the suits weather i keep them or not, i dont care either way. this isnt something where you go out of your way to keep your shit mint, they are going to be some rough stuff goin down. i feel like given this opurtunity i/we have to bust em up a little.

since ninthward just dropped hint of some outerwear maybe they want to get involved with this too.

as far as a timetable. i would love to loan these suits out to people i would make up a diary for each suit. i have idea of tests to do prior to loaning them out and when i get them back. this probably wouldnt be completed this winter, i think the suits have to make it to mt hood and whistler as well.

as far as big companies getting in on this. i think we should keep it to the little guys for now. the big names dont really need any kind of extra exposure. but if oakley or spyder stepped up and sent me a suit i probably wouldnt let it sit around.

and like has been mentioned, not just the consumer but the company could have a lot to learn.

after a little research i found that trew offers only a 3 layer option, i was under the asumption that they had a 2 layer it would be tough to fairly compare a 3 layer and 2layer. we can figure something out.

Are you fuckin serious, did that just really happen?? I was gonna come and tell you how much of a fuckin idiot you are but you sir just won epicly haha wow so sick props for the epic win!

It worked, so you got owned... to the OP, you are a fucking genius, such a good idea man. Good luck!

Wow, this is great customer service from some really core companies

At first it seemed like a well written plea for new gear, but this is something that should definitely be done considering how generic and short the reviews from freeskier are, hopefully yours are much better

I can not believe everyone is down with this.

Just going to throw this out there. Can I call DIBS on a suit if you get rid of them.(Don't care what condition its in)

You said you want to test in Whistler..
I'm a big mountain rider and do a lot of hike and ride,
Just received my Saga suit, but if you want help reviewing legitimately,
Hit me up.

this thread is just ripe with jealousy.
it does not matter if he gets to keep the suits himself. If this never happened you would not have gotten a suit out of it. If it does, you won't get a suit out of it. The only difference is that if it does happen you will be a better informed customer in the future. If it does not, then you will just be where you are now.
stop bitching about fair this and fair that, I think this is a great thing for both customers and the companies involved.
I would say just rate whatever they send you, if you get a 3L suit, review it. Don't take the price difference into consideration when your reviewing it. People can then take the reviews for how the gear performed, and knowing the price make their own decision.

Awesome idea! I can see why most of your are all jealous, i am too a little, but this is benefiting all of us! Thank you, and thank you SAGA, LDC, TREW, (and maby FD??) for simply agreeing to his task

Great idea. I would keep the testing to one man, because then it is the same abuse and someone who can truly compare each suit. I'm excited to hear the verdict a few months from now.

This is a really sick idea. I wanna see some in-depth reviews of all of these, not just a couple sentences like you usually see.

this is awesome. i'm so glad saga, trew and LD stepped up. gives me some hope in the industry when they do legit stuff like this. this is what newschoolers has needed. one or a few people testing every suit with unbiasly and for real. this kid has nothing to gain if he rates sage over trew, or LD over saga. he's just gonna give us an honest review of every suit and sigure out what is best for what. maybe one suit is better for park cause it doesnt get rail stains as bad and has more burly material, or maybe one suit is better in the BC cause its warmer and more waterproof. point is we need rewiews like this. hope this will be stickied in gear talk when the testing is done so many people in the future can look at it and not have to look though a million threads about saga, or trew, ect... to find out how well the gear holds up..

props to the companies for stepping up and props to the OP for being professional about it and having a genuis idea.

holy shit man.. congrats on this working i hope you really step up and give this your best effort. im lookin forward to see what comes out of this.

yes same after last year i was still worried but there deffinetly better i think and they help you out way more, crist you get an e-mail back from them in hours..
