SAGA+LDC+TREW+FD read up

This is simply incredible. Smuggs I trust that the work you put into these diaries and reviews are going to be worth more than the cost of the suits. Props to the companies for letting this go down. Once again the freeskiing community is the best community I know.

I like it. However, smuggs may need some assistance. Basically a full on NS outerwear use-and-abuse review guide. Obviously this idea originated with smuggs, so he should be in charge, but why not add some other NS'ers to the crew and get more companies involved? We could have a a variety of talented skiers that would all take their outwear to the limits in various ways eg. urban, big mountain, mountaineering, park, etc. Like smuggs said, we all know that Freeskier gear reviews are a bunch of BS, so have a comprehensive guide by and for NS would be real sick. There is serious potential for a huge and awesome project here.

FD opted out because they sold out of their suits :(

i have been talking with a few nsers about trying each suit for an extended period of time. to help the process, because obviously i dont do urban rails and park laps. i have slid one urban rail in my entire life and that was a wooden bridge on grass.

anyone know how to purchase a website url?

You can buy a site url from most good hosting companies. GoDaddy comes to mind. I'm sure you can find some others by googling for domain purchasing. It should only be a couple of bucks for the domain name, but you will also have to host a site somewhere. You might be able to find a place that does this for free (google free web hosting), but you will get better support if you go with a paid hosting plan. Some places give discounts for purchasing a domain name and hosting with them. You might want to look into software like Wordpress that will let you set it up like a blog.

goddamnit considering that have the kids on here ski in jibbeirsh hoodies you might as well add them to your list but that would sound like a waste of a jibberish

You sir are my hero. I can't believe that Saga, Trew, and LDC are going through with it! It just proves that they are beyond legit.

yea max, i bet if that bridge is still there, there would be a chunk missing from it where hennie caught an edge on his brand new skis and ate alot of poop.

yea i often dont capitalize letters and miss grammar points in internet forums, rest assured, the emails these guys got were most professional.

Responded to Jon by email. Great idea, glad to see this kind of creativity coming from the ski community.
We are in as well, but we are completely SOLD OUT of outerwear so maybe count us in next year!

OP your so smart! you could really care less about "writing reviews" you just want free shit from all these companys! wish i thought of it.

I'll give you some Saga pants I used for quite some time last season and I bet it comes in second only to this year's Saga gear.

Great idea btw, I like the support you're getting. Get after it!

This is absolutely amazing. This could never happen in the snowboard industry or any other sport for that matter. I love skiing.

Really awesome idea, you never see any good reviews of outerwear besides "looks mad dope!". Also incredibly legit of these companies to step up and give away their product, when they are selling out every season as it is.

so awesome. my threads. can't wait to find out the verdict later on. this will actually help me decide on what suit to get next year.

This just goes to show that these companies are either:

A.) Very confident in their product, which is pretty reasonable.

B.) Very confident that even if their product is proven to be the worst, low-quality, gear known to man, people on NS will still buy it.

Stoked to see how this goes, great to see companies man up and stand by their product, especially when the gear gets abused - this can only be positive for their brands.

I can't wait to see the reviews on these. I have always been loyal to Orage, you should try to get them in on it if you could.

holy epic win! this is exactly the reason i love skiing. Somebody comes up with a legit idea, companies take notice and dont just shrug it off then you have something really good come out of it.

Dear Saga,

I am incredibly impressed. I didn't think anyone would actually get in on this and send him a free suit to test. Major props on being the first to step out on a limb and send this kid a suit so he can test it out and inform the rest of NS. This is by far the coolest thing I have ever seen on NS. I will need new pants next season, so congratulations, you have won me over. I will be buying a pair.

And to the OP: Props for actually wanting to give back to the skiing community, and not just wanting to get in on some free outerwear. So good on you. I'm just disappointed I didn't get this idea first. On that note, want to send me the outerwear when you're done with it?

jokes.

Anyways, same goes for Trew, LDC, and First Drop. I personally have already ordered a jacket from first drop, and could not be more stoked to be on board with them based off of the customer service I have seen so far. It's sick that companies like this are willing to get on board with a legit unbiased test. The ski industry is so tight.

Props to you smuggs for steppin up to the plate, as well as all these great companies. Its nice to see someone that truly cares about the customer experience

In my mind here are some stuff that could really help this.

1} film it. Doesn't have to be good quality or even an edit. Just show us what you are doing.

2} At the end, don't pronounce a winner. Don't compare. Say this suit did well/ok/poorly and tell us why. If you declare a winner it may not be good for the losing companies, business wise.

3} Do similar tests for each suit.

All suggestions, good Luck and Mad props to all the companies participating

great idea im stoked to see the reviews and what these companies can do to improve on them. props to the OP and saga ldc and trew for stepping up this is going to help so many people out in the future

I'm pretty sure Trew will own this.

and I doubted this in the beginning cuz I assumed you were some 15 year old who thought he could score free outerwear.

I'm looking forward to how this plays out!

If that's the one in New Hampshire then i have a friend who went there. . .anyway.

HOLY SHIT!

This is awesome, smuggs is a legend.

Wow, mad props to Smuggs as well as Saga, LDC, Trew and FD.
I really love stuff like this, makes you feel how great the skiing community is; its not just a one way industry where companies provide the product and mindless sheep buy into it, skiing's increasingly becoming "open source" if you will, with everyone being involved in progressing the sport and supporting each other.
I gotta admit I am a bit jealous that I didn't come up with this first, but then again I don't think I would've done justice to the project and Smuggs looks like the perfect guy to do it. I'm really looking forward to the reviews buddy, do a good job for all us NSer's eh?

I wont let anyone down, this is bigger than just me now.

tried to get on board with some ski companies, but i have not heard back from any that i have sent requests to anyone has any hook ups put in a good word for us

fpus

on3p

etc

Great idea, stoked to see the support of these companies. Although bright & baggy isn't my style, I would consider picking up a suit in the future.

For all the jealous 15-year-olds, I am confident that smuggs will abuse the shit out of these things. I've seen some of his TRs; they're gnarly.

Good work smuggs.
