Saga Cookbook 2013-2014

Yeah I am a little concerned for the drawstrings in both my tripplestack hoodie and OG Logo jacket. They have the plastic stopper things, but no knots and trying knots in such a wide piece of drawstring is going to be hard to make them look nice.

i guess the bottom line is that ski season is short. when i order gear for the season, i want to get a season out of it.

yeah. and what im saying is start the process a month earlier.

there's no reason why you can't get shit together a month sooner so that the last shipments are going out on time for the ski season. derp.

I dont think you understand the undertaking that is designing from the ground up an entire line of outerwear in different colors, materials and styles. I have seen else where Saga post how their designers are already thinking about the 14/15 and 15/16 lines. How much earlier do you want them to fucking work? Jesus.

I am pretty sure the factory they use makes other products, you cant just show up to a manufacturing plant and go hey we need 10000 items in 30 different configurations. Its a massive underrtaking, and getting most of it out in October is pretty damn good. You are super butthurt here over not having your new gear for a few weeks of the season, you still have like, the rest of your life to wear this gear. West cost is about 3 weeks, maybe 4 into their season if you happen to live near A-basin, and the east coast started last weekend if you want to pay 50 dollars and drive to the middle of nowhere for a single trail. Relax. Assuming that you didnt burn your old gear in a fire at the end of last season, I think youll be alright.

We would love to be able to start the shipping process sooner. But to do so would mean it would have to be released from our factories which means paying for it a month earlier. It is pretty difficult to pay the large sum that we owe to the factories in the summer time when our sales aren't as strong as they are in the winter. This is the real reason we start shipping when we do. It's heavily determined by when we can collect enough money to pay the balances. If anyone thinks we aren't doing everything possible to get the products out the door and into the customers hands as fast as possible they are surely mistaken.

This ... Regret it every year. Gears good quality and not overpriced ... Not worth the frustration of waiting for months past "will ship by this date" dates, and chasing up orders.

To saga:Would be the monarch pants in xxl similar to the fit of last years Anomie in XL or still a little bit slimmer?

The fit of the Monarch pants are based off the fit of the 11/12 slims. A xxl monarch pant will be similar in bagginess to the xl anomies but still a different fit.

actually im really just butthurt that i paid for something months ago and am still waiting for it without really knowing when itll be shipped. i like to know the plan. i dont just want to be on standby indefinitely until someone feels like getting back to me.

and secondly, im butthurt that i wont really know the fit and feel of their gear until i get the few items i've ordered, since i was hoping to order some more. but im certainly not going to order a second batch if i never get the first.

so i guess that makes me doubly butthurt.

I can assure you this is not the case. We have had everyone working 10+ hours a day since October 14th shipping packages and answering customer service inquiries among the many other tasks you need to do everyday to operate a functioning business.

i had XL anomie saga pants from 2 years ago, just bough xl anomie pants and was wondering if its the same fit/size as 2 years ago? or did you change it because of the new xxl

They are a little smaller. Hardly noticeable. A lot of our team that has always worn XL anomies are still wearing XL anomies this year. The XXL was created to give a pant with a bigger waist. There isn't much different in the leg length or circumference.

i honestly don't understand why other companies can get all their shit out on time and you guys cant. Just like other people this delay has really screwed me and my brother over since we both start skiing 3 times a week next week and still have yet to receive our gear. Not a big deal for myself but my brother who has grown a shit ton no longer fits in his gear from last year so now he most likely have to buy some gear so that he can still ski until he actually receives his stuff that we pre ordered back in June. If you honestly think that your putting enough work to satisfy your customers and continue to run a functioning company i believe your wrong since you guys have no grown into a much larger company that should be able to handle this shit and should be able to get your gear designed, made and shipped before people start skiing.

It's actually pretty easy. It's a relatively small company with a ton of orders. Guys like Oakley, Burton, The North Face are huge companies and usually work with the same manufactures, but because they're bigger and have a ton of money and have huge order numbers from the manufactures they're first in line, while smaller companies, like Saga, First Drop, Trew have to wait in line. But here's the difference, Saga usually sells out of almost all of their stock before the summer, while other companies don't. Sometimes Saga sells out of stuff during pre-order ( debate that's already happened in this thread). The have a huge demand for their stuff (think about the amount of Saga stuff you see in the park, it's a ton). While Saga isn't quite selling like the big boys (they have "brand power" that markets to non-skiers and the more casual skiers/snowboarders), they are certainly selling the most of the smaller companies, which does make it hard. Not to mention, I'd be at least half of their sales happen during pre-sale times, imagine if Oakley had half of their shit go out the door at once...now imagine if Oakley was saw only 25 guys (trying to compare is kinda hard, but I think the point is made). They have to get a shit load of product out the door right now, and that takes time.

^A lot of what you said is true. We've said it before and we will continue saying it, these are not excuses, they are the actual facts about why things take a little longer.

There aren't really any other brands that sell the amount of inventory direct to customer AND warehouse and ship it all like we do. It may not be the best method as we continue to grow but right now it allows us to maintain a very close relationship with our fans and keep prices down. We hire on several new people for this time of the year alone that voluntarily work for just some free gear. If we moved to a separate warehousing and distribution service we would have to pay for the service and that would drive the cost of our products up across the board. When you have as small of a line as we do you need to be very mindful of the cost and quality of every individual item. If one product line fails it can just about ruin the entire year financially.

So yes it does suck that some people haven't received their packages yet but there are also a lot who have. It just seems that the one who haven't are always the most vocal about it online. Which is fine. We love the ability to talk directly to our fans and hear the questions, comments and concerns. The most important thing to remember is that we are definitely not sitting around playing grab ass over here. Every single person including our seasonal employees has been working 10+ hours a day since the inventory came in.

When are the gloves planning to come into stock? My stuff hasn't shipped yet because I had gloves in my order and I emailed you guys and you just said that was the reason why my stuff hadn't shipped yet.

got my monarch pants, hoorah. They came with a "Saga shoelace"? is there supposed to be some functionality for this, i.e- a easy tie belt or something? or is it for something else I'm not figuring out?

Thanks!

You do sound butthurt, sounds like all that can be done has been done and you need to just relax. There are literally only seven resorts open in the US and there is still nothing sick to shred. Even if you do live in one of these places and you can shred you still need to chill out, feel lucky you get a new suit every year.

which size anomie? im 5 ft 7" M or L? looking for a baggy fit - anyone who has a L and is around my height could you post a picture? thx

SAGA: I preordered 2 hoodies during the 1st day of the preorder and still have not received anything. I live in Canada, when do you expect to have the canadian preorders shipped? Thanks!

I'm the same height. Jacket? Large is super baggy. I'm down sizing to mediums for the not so thug/rat look. Same for pants.Good luck.

TRADE ME YOUR KHAKI PANTS

just bought the last pair of these, they are size L. if you have khaki anomies or monarch pants I will pay for your shipping to trade. if you want these pants, go buy some khaki anomies from backcountry and send em to me!

a really want to get a pair of fatigue pants in concrete. but theyre fucking sold out. how does something sell out like that. I am sad. today is a sad day. If anyone wants like a pair of IOX brand new in the box I'll be willing to give you them :))

I keep having a gateway security issue with my credit card, so I'm being denied.

Can I call you guys to place an order?

Hey Saga,

I got my OG Logo Jacket in the other day and its great, but what do you recommend layering with it? I already have plenty of base layers including one of yours, but it seems like to take it out in temps less than 30 I am going to need a pretty good mid layer. Is something like a northface fleece the right kind of thing or am I way off the mark here?

Perhaps I should have read this thread before ordering.

Switzerland gets real cold real quick and i need my pants.

I hear there have been issues with the Canadian pre-orders crossing the borders first, how about european orders? I ordered just now.. last years order went smooth for me, can i expect this from my current order? i am just asking when my order will be shipped, i think this is adequate after dropping damn near 400 bucks in your business (awesome one at that). hope you guys are able to reply, im getting scared now that i see so many people complaining about the orders not shipping...

i know i asked a similar question but how is this years XL anomie JACKET sizing compared to my XL Gold Coast from a few years ago? any help would be appreciated

Slimmer and slightly less long. However the materials are different so the 13/14 Anomie "hangs" a lot more than previous years did. If you are really tall and needed the xl gold coast then you should go with the XXL anomie this year. But if the XL Gold Coast was big on you or fit pretty good then go for XL anomie from 13/14

Soooooo I just got my "pre-order" today, and all it was was the gloves I ordered! The receipt sheet just has the other three things crossed off. I looked back at my conformation emails and my gloves were definitely the same order number as my other stuff that I didn't get. So apparently that other stuff I pre-ordered is still sitting around somewhere and hasn't shipped yet. Whats going on?? Where is my other stuff??

To get an exact answer you should email contact@sagaouterwear.com. But if I were to speculate that while we were waiting for the gloves to come in to ship your order fully we sold out of some of the other items. So instead of not shipping anything we just shipped the gloves and will ship the rest when its restocked. Again I don't know for certain if this is what happened but its a possibility. You should email our customer service.
