i bought the land rover, my parents just covered insurance till it broke. Now I get to borrow my moms old honda pilot. It’s the family car (for me and then my sister) now that she got a MDX. It’s kinda fun lol. It’s got paddle shifters and a sports mode, that revs higher. I gotta black out the trim and what not to match the rest of the car. But i’ve got a roof rack and bike rack on it rn. I get like 30mpg on the highway too.

After months of Achilles tendinitis I have now developed plantar fasciitis in the same foot. I’m going to cut my fucking leg off I swear

Ha don’t you love that nice little connection?

how so? I'm not sure how this one is going to play out on my end because it seems like many of the things that are done to rehabilitate plantar fasciitis are not good for a compromised Achilles, and vice versa. It feels like a catch-22 to have both at once

I don’t know what you mean by how so?

I have Achilles tendinitis that flairs up sometimes and Achilles issues that sometimes manifests into plantar fasciitis or vice versa. It’s due to the tightness and pulling in the greater connected heel area.

I also get extensor tendinitis in my big toe on one foot. Feet are so interconnected. It is for sure where my body breaks down

was just wondering how exactly your foot was messed up. Sounds like a very similar situation though. For some reason I hadn't considered that the achilles and plantaris tendon could affect eachother. Does it bother you skiing when it flares up?

No not really. My foot is largely supported with my footbeds and a tight fit. Only thing is the Achilles if I try to butter too hard. Thin liner that means the shell pressures against that bone. Ski boot is actually great for my issues.

This was pretty rampant in Utah as well. My mom started a small business travel company just before the pandemic hit and it was almost impossble for the little guys to get relief. She was finally able too......only 2 years later, and is now currently waiting on the IRS to refund small business for the mishap, only the IRS is just now catching onto how many people scammed the system is putting a stop on payments until 2024.

Ski resorts and ski companies too.....and influencers/outdoor personalities/pro skiers. The Mountain Gazette had a great issue about this topic during the season that got scrubbed off into somewhere.

idk but everytime i see a vemno posted on someones social media or on a car i just think they are an entitled piece of shit. give me money for no reason at all??

Now i gotta wait to borrow some or go to a friends so I can play. Might be able to fix it tomorrow hopefully. Fuck. I just want to play

Work rant:

I watched my main equipment operator and good friend pass away unexpectedly right in front of my eyes on the job in June. My assistant manager’s last day was Friday. My two teammates / employees that helped take the most weight off my shoulders are both gone. And my board of directors seems to think that all is fine and the work will still get done. Meanwhile I cant manage all aspects of the business in a timely fashion and it’s stressing me TF out. All these people see is two people not on payroll anymore, and respond with things like “everyone is replaceable, things will work out in time.”

I’ve been preaching to the board that the businesses that take care of their employees will be the ones to survive in todays business climate. They’ve waited until it’s too late yet again, just like with every important business decision that goes on at this business.

Stick to customer service type jobs you'll find one quickly that will hire you and try and overwork you. Probably not as many remote ones as a year or two ago but they are out there.

Billing/auditing type of stuff isn't too hard to find either just again expect to be overworked to the extreme in exchange for being remote.

How are so many people so okay with not doing their job?

Like, job is simple, it takes all of 10 minutes to make sure it's right but I stg 40-60% of people don't give a shit and push absolute shit

I really enjoyed 1883 but I can't fuckin stand Yellowstone as a TV show in general....Rich ranchers from generational wealth trying to protect "Their land" from rich corporate america destroying their town. Its great to compare to ski towns nowadays with the attitude of NIMBYism. It's like a cult in some of those areas. PC namely.

1883 was way better, I agree

Yellowstone would have been good if it came to an ending, after the third season it got stale. 1883 though is some of the best television I have ever watched.

They do a decent job of making the cattle industry look semi-entertaining and dramatic but there was one scene in a recent episode where the duttons are at a local bar and get into a fight with some tourists in the most corny "Locals only" way when in reality those are almost always the biggest pieces of shit in any community like that, like its never a good thing to be on a first-name basis with the sheriffs department lmao.

Moving states is overwhelming af. How did I collect so much stuff

Luckily being a single guy with no furniture meant that what ever fit in my truck was all that was going with me. Couldn't imagine doing the same plus a house of stuff plus a significant other.

Good luck homie!

I literally moved with just a Subaru crosstrek filled up both times I moved to Denver. Order a bed to arrive there and start over. People collect a lot of shit they don’t need.

Moved to Idaho that way. Forester and an xl Thule box. Was for sure over the specified payload of the car but it worked just fine.

Moved to Reno with a Ford Escape packed to the brim and a roof box full of skis. Somehow managed to need a 15ft U-Haul for my move up to Washington one year later. Now having a fully furnished apartment I am DREADING another move.

Fit my SO and my stuff in the back of the truck, it fit but my rear end was so saggy.

No furniture was real nice though

My parents dumped a bunch of patio furniture and stuff onto me and my sister when they moved back east from Utah, and it was nice to have as things in the backyard to chill in. But both of us worked either all day or graveyards and never had any time to have friends over (if we even had any) so it just became dog furniture until we gave it away when we moved in August. Im still kicking myself over giving away a Weber grill tho :( I hope whoever that group of ski bums that picked it up had some killer BBQ's this summer.

But yeah I filled a crewcab chevy colorado with tubs, clothes, ski gear, and all my skis/bike in the back. Only thing I was worried about was getting my shit ransacked by methy types at some shady-as-fuckl hotels.

I feel this in my bones. Had way to much stuff that we couldnt get rid of, even after selling/giving away 90% of our furniture.

I got my car broken into and run through in a paid parking garage in Chicago when I was moving back to head to NZ. They stole my new Smith Squads ?
