Rant About Whatever

Hell yeah that sounds like an awesome plan. I went the civil route too and I kinda thought about mining engineering myself but I just wanna be done with school at this point… hope it works out for you bro

Mining industry could be key to happiness. Relatively well paying jobs with possibilities on the better side of the arctic circle which means better skiing close. Mixture of field and office work sounds nice. It's growing industry here as ethical and more "green" mining is needed and we have the minerals for it. Job market shouldn't be too crowded and only university with the mining program is easy to get in ,might be hard to get out tho.

if my parents send me one more picture of the dog they adopted right after they dropped me off for school imma lose it. I just miss my little lola. Peanut butter is pretty handsome tho

Brother in law being a deadbeat and scrambling to find jobs while my sister is gearing up for the school year is a bummer. He's bounced around from job to job and just quit his weed growing job because he got into beef with the owners. 2 kids as well under the age of 5. I just want a good life for those kids that wasn't hectic like what we had growing up.

terrible day today. had been givin amoxicillin to take cuz i get my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow. It made me violtenty ill.

I don't know if I have ever felt that bad ever before in life. I think I passed out for a bit, and I was sweating so crazy my entire shirt was soaked. My stomach hurt so bad and still kinda does. And I only took 1 pill, I was supposed to have 3 today.

I'm actually so done with this. I started tweaking earlier, and I didn't get to finish my daily monster energy or caffine zyns cuz I feel dead, and sick to my stomach like I could yak at any second.

Ruined my plans to go to the skatepark today, and I still feel terrible, and still have to get wisdom teeth removed, so today and tomorrow are cooked.

Try it. From a 25 year old manual labourer and skier, it actually works. I shower every few days and only apply it after a shower, and I truly have no smell at all. Love the stuff. And the best part, I think one stick would last at least 20̷ years. I have had mine for around 8 and it is going strong.

I used one during archaeology field work and it lasted me over 4 years. They’re the best.

Perhaps this is a part of why you feel terrible?? I’m pretty confident most healthy people don’t use caffeine zyns or have a “daily energy drink”

Natural deodorant doesn’t work well in general in my experience

I've heard there is a period of time between transitioning from normal deodorant to natural where it doesn't work for some people. I use "natural" deodorant and it works fine on most days. Only times I have issues is when I'm really stressed.

ive been using dr squatch for about 2 months and its decent, after a few hours my pits start to smell. It definitely does not help with sweating but that is expected with aluminum free deodorants.Maybe i need to give it a little bit more time to see it work well.

as long as im hydrated well, if i dont wear deodorant i rarely smell. my shoes can get bad from time to time but thats not a deodorant thing lol.

Let’s be real, that’s just your nose transitioning to be accustomed to the smell. It’s just like camping with someone or just not bathing in general, you don’t notice the smell, but if you take a shower suddenly you’ll realize the other person smells like shit lol

my get rich plan (which is none) would be creating a robot that can detect odors/when clothes need to be washed, because we wouldn’t notice especially getting worse as you age I bet

Or you could wash your clothes every week like a normal person?

Mining industry and happiness don't usually go together lol. As an engineer you'll probably have to do a ton of travel to some pretty shit places in the middle of nowhere. The pay is good though

It might be good for a few years at the beginning of your career, but eventually you'll probably want an office job in the city

Our country is not that big. Most of the bigger mines are and probably will be on the northern side or close to the arctic circle and that is where I'm aiming to move and live until I die. Driving around Lapland every now and then shouldn't be that bad. I want a career with field work, I'm not really the type of person to sit 8 hours per day in an office for +300 days per year. It combines most of the things I'm looking for adult life. I'm not going to stay in the south, I wan't to live in a smaller place with little bit of space. Relatively nice pay. Problem solving type of job. Better skiing close. Weather can be rough in Dec- March and mosquitoes in the summer. Would be interesting to hear from someone actually working in the field to get more realistic view to kill my hopes and dreams.

Idk if you're counting yourself as a Finn or a Swedistani today. But at least on the Finnish side, Lapland looks like a really rough place to live in your 20s.

Less than 200k people spread out over an area 2x the size of denmark. That must be such a tough place to make friends or find a wife

Should be fine for me. Friends can be found from hobbies (mostly skiing). People come and go for the whole winter. Finding a wife is probably bigger challenge. I'll be spending half of my 20s in school so probably best bet is to find someone during that time. I'm not sure though if there are any educated women who want share the same future plans as me. North is the thing I would rather not compromise. It's easier to try to live there first than trying to make a whole family to move there from comfortable city life. I don't have as limited time to make a family as women. I'll figure it out.

Field work might be on the low side for mine engineer, it was always just us regular geos on the field side. Never seen a mine engineer away from the pit tbh

That's more about my plan b which was Economical geology, same industry. Outside time probably depends on your position.

Once you get to a certain point in any field you spend no time outside, no matter how much fieldwork you do at the entry level

Boss: *suggests idea of utilizing autonomous machines to do projects/tasks which frees up time to go do other stuff, increases your labor budget, slashes the use of gas and cost of it, much lower environmental impact, etc*

so it turns out Bio/Pre-Health isn’t for the week. Taking 300 level evolutionary genetics is infact very difficult and time consuming! Cheers to my second 4hr lab of the week?

Why are you taking 300 level classes as an incoming freshman lol

Has this dumbass ad been there always or is this just a new improvement?

I'll never visit this site or app again without an adblock.

The placement is the problem, I swear to god it has not been there before. They should choose what ads they are showing.

yeah the pop ups are pretty annoying and why i never go to unofficial networks anymore. the NS one that is currently on the page isnt the worst. pretty easy to click the x out of it. still annoys the fuck out of me as it feels like 2000s ads. i personally would be less likely to buy something that is on a popup ad vs a banner ad. but over all im pretty un impacted web ads anyway so im sure my feedback doesn’t matter anyway

i still check on it just to see what's posted but unofficial is so bad it's hilarious. ads all over the place (coming from someone who doesn't mind ads unless they're intrusive) and it's like they're required to have several grammar or copyediting mistakes in every single post. and most of the writing is 8th grader/AI level lol

I thought you were considering engineering? Want to reconsider your math on this one?

Or maybe the money hungry capitalists should do their math again. Easier to charge more when you can claim it's just because of the tax increase. there is not limit in greediness.

My daycare level economic calculations say that when you add the capitalist mark up to the mix , 15% total increase is not too far from the truth.

Haven’t spoken to this couple(#1) since like January/February and our friends(couple #2) ran into them yesterday at a bar and apparently all they did was talk shit about me and my boyfriend as if we weren’t still friends with couple #2. It was amusing. Gotta love being 30 years old and acting like you’re still in high school with petty shit lol. So glad they are no longer in our lives.

Why is there always one angry fucking Admin lady at whatever job I work who always pipes up with anything irrelevant during a team meeting?

budgets have been tight with the upcoming election. the different npc models for the simulation havent had an update in a bit so its likely the same program in a different skin

i hate when people get offended over people saying there’s easy or dumb people majors. Like yea no shit ur marketing course making power points is going to be infinitely easier than synthesizing DNA or a polymer titration. Get over it and stop being soft
