Post Whats on your Skmind

dickriding companies that don’t sponsor you drives me crazy.

like people who ONLY have skis from one company or tagging a company in your insta bio that doesn’t give you shit drives me up a wall.

Tagging a company in a bio is the universal sign for “I am sponsored by this company”

you could also just not like give a shit and go ski on what you have?

Even aside from safety, skiing pin bindings in-bounds is super uncomfortable. I have the Fritschi Tectons which i think are quite similar to the kingpins. My first day trying them was on choppy hardpack and it practically shook my feet apart

Remount a pair of Woodsman 109s for work with STH2 16s and save the Kingpin 13s for a rainy day and abuse prodeals for a touring layup? Its just simply way too much ski for the binding. They release fine but you shouldn't be charging hard in-bounds on a touring setup.

I agree. I don't like not having forward pressure at all.

Im gonna need some help from you guys like legitimately. I'm tasked at work with making sure our park features are built safely and correctly marked and placed depending on the size of them. Its a super small Indy resort and our lone park crew of like 3 people who kind-of got thrown into it and need help and I'm happy to oblige.

Currently we have a pretty gnarly down-rail thats definitely a M-sized feature that should be placed in the upper parks and not at the base where the baby park is. Like its literally ride-on features and then this behemoth that's gonna fuck-up some gaper or little kid. I'll send pics later.

I need pics of this beaut and the whole layout.

But think about it. It could keep the learners out of the big park until they get that thing down

Im suggesting it gets replaced with this ghetto-ass rainbow rail no one hits and make it like a super chill double-barrel flat rail in the upper park

i also dont want to test shit dude like wtf

If you can, just have the cat push the lip right up to that down bar, could even make it a ride on if you want

Thats Plan A. Hopefully it looks better tomorrow but its still a cool feature.

pics of the big boy flat down

EDIT: never mind i see it. i think it's fine, just push a bigger lip up to it and mark it well (the whiskers are a little odd though imo)

the kids and gapers need inspiration

i heard palisades had 160mph gusts yesterday. is that fuckin real?! holy shit

Pretty sure Palisades holds the state record and one of the highest records in NA for recorded wind speed at just over 200mph. High 150+ gusts were pretty common there during storms

Did you get boots done or just in general trash, they’re like right next to my work but don’t wanna risk anything

Both they’re just a shitty sketchy shop. They fit me wrong then refused to fix or replace the boots. Everyone I know that’s been there has been extremely unhappy with their boots

That's sad to hear. Larson's Ski and Sport used to be the only shop my family went to. My dad worked there way back when and we are good friends with some of the workers. Never had a problem there either, except the last time we went, the boot fitter (someone we didn't know) was trying to get him into Apex boots and wasn't a lot of help. Maybe they just suck at bootfitting but have you had any other bad experiences there?

I'm obsessed with videos of people parking there Rv's/Vans in parking lots and skiing all day, traveling to different parking lots. I did a little trip here on the East Coast and it was a great time, I loved the small things like cooking and stuff.. hahha want to see more vids like that and someday get back to that

Fences all setup. Things nicely raked. I better fuckin see someone bust out a lip Blind Tru.

Park Rat kids: never ever give up on your dreams because one day hopefully you as well can be responsible for the risk assessment and mitigation of greasy af rails

But for real. Learning this job has been really fun and its always great being able to open new stuff for people whether it be a park setup or glades or whatever.

Found dollos on sale for 299, Should i buy them? My plan was to buy Poachers, but that deal is very tempting.

Not worth it dude. I found several different size poachers on sale for under 400 (177s and 170s need a bit more digging but same site). For me, anything with a difference under $100 is worth just buying the ski you want or regretting it the rest of the season. Not saying dollos are a bad ski by any means, but if you want poachers get poachers. if it were like a $200 difference thats a different story.

Snowbird in late spring is fucking magical

Sun, slush, a terrain park, and not a single ikon passholder

Even Solitude in spring is fun for that reason. All the mediocre powder snobs give up on the season for mountain biking and everyone there are the dedicated few still having fun. Bailed on LCC and went to Solitude, which has been good. Got the base add-on for this exact reason. People sleep on Solitude because it’s mildly inconvenient to get around.

I had a dream last night where there was a stabbing at my local hill but it was all Gucci because Dollo showed up, we sessioned a 15 stair set and I nosebuttered the entire set then got lost in a mall. Oxys and edibles AR AR AR AR

Honestly the vibe everywhere, I live for spring skiing, way to many slush haters, mountains are basically empty past April.

slush is all I ski anymore. We get a week of snowmaking and then hope that lasts us for our entire 3 month season. If it's not slush it's ice and I'm to old to fall on ice.
