Post Whats on your Skmind

I just saw some Liberty Evolv 100s with a tip protector like Vishnu has. I know they’re made in same factory but when did they start having the tip protectors too?

Patrol even set up trash bags for us yesterday at the woods party and said quote "Have fun, be safe, clean up after yourselves, and fuckin party!" and that's the difference between people who work in the offices at ski resorts vs. people who work on the hill themselves lol.

the 102s definitely get tossed around in chop but i think thats cause they're soft af

I’ve been diggin my 102s, smaller width is prime and still rips powder most dags

The amount of policing from DOT's and Police forces for just trying to make it up to the ski hill, especially during this season, is so fucking stupid. Get your car figured out or fucking stay home dude. Stop making us wait.

bswap bswap b2 should be called a stevie wonder because he's blinder than Ray Charles

Did a cork 5 that felt pretty good followed by a front swap attempt to belly flop on the rail. All right in front of a friendly Jerry family lmao

Anyone want to ski A Basin on Friday or Snowbird on Monday? I'm seeing old friends on a little road trip but everyone I'm seeing isn't much a skier.

A Basin just Friday. Might hit Monarch on Saturday depending on how plans with other people play out.

Alta is at 874” on the season as of this morning ? Both cottonwood canyons are closed today, 0/4 resorts open. Salt lake is under a foot+ of snow. Don’t know if we’ll ever see another winter like this in my lifetime. Just absolutely bananas. It’s April, I just want some spring laps at this point.

First world problems I know. But I think I’ve found the line of too much snow. After 800 inches I just want it to stop lol

yeah i get it, what with still needing to live life (and shovel so much lmao)

I think I got a concussion a couple of weeks ago skiing. Did the stupid thing where I tried to play it off. I’ve been feeling off lately. Brain fog at work has been really bad.

Word, I’m p sure I got a minor one 2 weeks ago, slid back off a rail and ate shit by landing flat on my ass, didn’t hit my head but my neck felt hella sore and whiplashed and was fatigued all week. Took till the next Friday when I woke up feelin amazing and felt like I had been lifted out of a brain fog for me to realize that I probably had a concussion

getting that end of the season "i didn't learn enough tricks" feeling

Then go learn new tricks, if you get hurt it’s not like there’s much season left

Skied this little guy today, first realish chute. Also, snagged a free pass to Copper tomorrow so looks like I'm going there if anyone wants to link up.

I Think schizo and FarmVille are going.

Ill be at WP on Sunday linking with [tag=167225]@partyandBS[/tag] if you somehow end up around there

Hesitant to post this but I also got 2 $25 vouchers left for the season to email to people for an Alterra resort. I started with 24 so I’ve been running through them for sure. Would consider giving 1 to someone on here if they shared a saucy rail trick!

Holy shit this thread just confused the fuck out of me. I thought it was glitching and i was in 2 alternate universes of ‘post whats on your mind’ that was a trip lol.

Shit man reminder to always check your gear, was getting a quick wax in and noticed the heel moving, big shame.

I’m guessing they’re fucked rn and need a remount?

Anyways, wides or bibbys for a 50* slush day.

Hot take: I don’t actually think steep steep is that bad and I definitely don’t think he is a jerry. Yeah his stoked thing can be played out but he actually goes to interesting places and actually hits the features. It could be way worse.

Pretty valid hot take tbh, I will probably still talk shit cuz he looks like a montec clone but that’s rly my only beef with him tbh

Tbh if I were him with limited resources - I’d probably take the dope sponsorship. Either I get to meet Jesper and flown out to Stubai Zoo, etc etc or I get nothing. Easy answer.

*let’s add Avoriaz, France to that list. I would not gaf if NS hated on me all day.

”How you gonna hate from outside the clubs??”

He's a decent skier he's just annoying as hell. Getting views for the sport is good tho

I think a lot of kids don’t detune their skis nearly enough. To get my skis sliding steel how I want to, it requires a pretty hefty detune. I think a lot of issues people have with park skis stem from this. It can be easy to ignore if a park has smooth rails. Hell, you can ride mailboxes and tubes and not even notice but those thin little rails are the true test.

Some math person help me out - is it to do with surface area? Maybe more pressure on a smaller area when sliding a thinner rail?

I don't think there's a smaller contact area with thinner rails, at least if they're all round. I catch plenty on flat-top rails with more surface area (less pressure). I think it has more to do with the material of the rail and thickness of the wall. And also a lot of it is likely just mental I'd guess

I guess a skinnier rail with otherwise the same dimensions and materials would be less stiff. So it can flex more when you land on it, making it more likely for your front edge to catch

That’s gotta be it because it’s not mental for me. I can literally feel a difference between thinner rails and fatter rails as far as sticking with edges that aren’t severely detuned

Growing up, our backyard setup had a couple PVC tubes but also a steel pipe probably 1" in diameter. That thing would flex so much, we caught so often. And if we didn't catch edges on the rail, we would likely catch on the ground lmao

I think the larger the circumference means you are able to stay in that sweet spot on the top longer if that makes sense. Like you have more surface area in the sweet spot than a skinny.

It’s literally just because of edge cracks dulling ur edges does nothing to help you from sticking to rails

this can not be fucking serious. I’m shocked you said this. Wow. Go ride some other skis and other rails kid.
