The gondola doesn't have enough uphill capacity, parking, nor public transit to get people up the mountain efficiently in the quantities they are arriving and does nothing for the resorts other than serving to be a Disney world type of attraction to get more people to come to Little Cottonwood from out of town. It will simply move the line of traffic back from the mouth of the canyon, making it impossible to get up all day because the road will be tolled from 7-10 AM according to their plan, and it won't be open before 8 so there will be no way to get up the canyon on an avalanche control day where the road is closed because demand for the Gondola will be too high for its capacity. What needs to be done is to have a toll, but also to put in a fleet of electric buses with a massive parking structure that can ferry people in great quantities up the mountain as opposed to a Gondola that will move maybe 1000-1500 people/hr. As I recall demand for getting into little cottonwood on a busy day is somewhere between 5000-7000 so you can do the math as to what happens when everyone tries to leave the canyons at 4:00 PM
