It's an external reverb post, anyone rebuild one of these before? Is it worth it or should I just buy a new one. Don't mountain bike too much so I've just been dealing with it, but it's getting annoying.

I'm reading about how rear shocks work and now I'm beyond confused. I could have sworn when I turned it all the way, it wouldn't compress.. but now when I turn it all the way it compresses then rebounds VERY slowly while in the other direction it compresses then rebounds fast.
Sorry - I'm very new to this.

14455714:ThaLorax said:Like Cy said. You got it right. That little "R" on your shock logo stands for rebound... which is that red knob. There is no lockout on your shock

14455735:cydwhit said:You're looking for a 31.6 mm diameter dropper. That's probably the most common size on the market, so you're in luck. Assuming you're on a Large or Medium frame, I'd highly recommend the OneUp in a 180 mm length. You can then shim it down if you need to. A PNW components dropper is also a good value, but you can't fit quite as long of one into some frames. To be totally safe, a 150 mm dropper might be a better bet.
14455736:OldManAtABasin said:Awesome - thanks again for your help. I was unsure due to the weird tube angle that only goes so far down. I'm going to look at those recommendations right now.
Appreciate it.
14455783:ThaLorax said:Most brands mention a maximum insertion depth if you look at the specs. I don't see that on the Vitus site. Your bike comes stock with a Brand X 150mm dropper, which has a longer insertion depth compared to OneUp. So you could probably get away with the 180mm One Up (especially if you shim it down). You should use the handy calculator that OneUp has on their website to make sure it agrees (or email them), to make sure.
