Official MHSSC thread

Private is fully up and running. Same setup as years past. I know that for sure. People are also saying the public park is better than last year, but I can't confirm that yet.

I head down Saturday. I'll post a general update in here as soon as I get on snow next week.

Both of the parks are really on point, mhssc is the best i have seen it, the downbars are epic as always, there are some cool little lines u can take and some fun boxes to boost off. the jumps are the best on hood and public is waaaay better than last year, lots of good features and they have been changing it up a lot, not bad for a shitty snow year!

So here's an update on isht now that I've been skiing.

Coaches are Nolan, Maks and Kieran. Shea is out for shoulder surgery or something like that.

Public park is pretty good right now. Jumps are way better than last year and they're using a greater variety of rails.

Private park has big jumps as usual. Last one in the line looks to be at least 60ft. We got a couple new corrugated tubes and a new double barrel for this year, but the bike rack rail got stolen by gypsies and then run over by a cat.

It's melting out pretty fast this year though. We have at most two weeks left of lapping the Mile.

And poor JohnnyBuz sprained his ankle last night playing b ball before even touching snow. Hopefully he'll get better.

Well it turns out I fractured my fibula. 6-8 week recovery. Literally was at camp for less than 2 hours. Sucks balls.

P-fo, can you tell my coach Nolan that I was really looking forward to being coached by him and I'll be back next summer? I was stoked but it'll have to wait another year.

Fuck.

For sure dude. This place will still be here and still be sick next year haha. Get better fast and good luck with your new job.

For the dude asking about sesh 5, that's next week, and I think the weather is gonna improve. The Mile should just barely stay lappable through the end of the week. There should be a lot more campers too. Looking pretty sick.

fuck how fast is that shit melting, i went session 13 last year and they stll had a good amount, but it sounds like i may be hiking this year haha

I'll be there on the 7th. Any chance we could get some pictures of the conditions/features on here? I've been checking the FB page, but most of it's racing stuff.

Yeah you'll probably be hiking at the bottom of Palmer, but that really isn't unusual for that late in the year anyway.

For everyone else who's worried, don't be. The hike doesn't get long for quite a while, and private park is accessible for as long as we keep it up and we don't stop using it until the end of August. It's gonna be chill. Honestly, this year isn't that far from normal.

Quick coaching update: Scott Donahue of Montage is here for at least this week. Big group this session. Almost all of Coho are freeskiers. Pretty sick.

Yeah pretty much.

Been kind of nuts up here. Rained most of last week, and a climber got lost and died in it. Now it's almost 90 at campus and the predicted high at the lodge level for tomorrow is 73. Completely absurd.

I'm also gonna try to set up the ON3P tour for holdovers this weekend.

After watching a lot of edits i've noticed there isnt really a rope tow or anything. Do you just hike the whole time or can you link laps with palmer??

No rope tow. Hiking 'builds character.' Theoretically you could hike across some rocks and lap via Palmer, but its a hassle.

Sprained my ankle yesterday, leaving tomorrow. Its been sick, hope to see you all next year.
