This is from earlier this month on KB's facebook. It talks about the plans for the parks this year.
"The update you've all been waiting for:
-- New this year for Terrain Park & The BigAirBag: First off, I (Justine) would like to say, we have been dedicating some serious resources to making our terrain and facility more accessible to everyone. We ask that you withhold judgment until you have the opportunity (just like me) to see and ride/ski for yourself. It is with these changes that we take a more proactive approach in supporting the progression of park riding for both skiers and snowboarders here at KB. That being said, we have 5 new features being shipped in next week and a batch of new ideas! We have moved the location of the BigAirBag to the bottom area near Willies Smokehouse. This new location will encourage new jumpers, hitting it as a full run, better viewing, better maintenance, and will have a solid flat base for the bag to rest. As some of you have seen the pictures, the top of Holly Quad is going to look a whole lot different this season as well - This is the new location for our Beginner/Intermediate Park. Think dance floor boxes, corrugated tubes, tires, fun stuff... Also - Twister will now be the location for the Big Park and let me explain why: #1 - Twister is 1st priority snow-making. Remember last year when we opened in November and the Big park did not open until the second week of January? Not anymore...We're talking jibs on day 1. #2 - There is more usable acreage between Holly & Twister then at World - We understand you enjoyed the private park lift, but there are now three lifts to choose from to access our parks (Holly, Triple, & Coal Chute) - Imagine starting your line at Holly and being able to hit a full run of boxes, rails & jumps...and then the BigAirBag all in one run! And by the way....We are still having a BIG PARK! Our jumps on Twister will have better progression for you to stock your bag of tricks. Not only you will have more features to play on, but instead of waiting for North to open to access the parks, we will be treated like top priority. And #3 - It will be 100% easier for our Park Crew to switch the set ups. Last year once the Big Park was initially installed, that's the way it stood all season. This year, we promise to change features around, maintain, and update continually. We think you will enjoy these changes - give it a chance, change is good."
I have to say, when i first heard about the changes KB was planning on making to their parks from mingg, i was pretty skeptical about how it was gonna be for park skiers/boarders. Up until reading this post, i was worried that park at kb wouldnt be enjoyable like past years. However, this post actually has me really excited to see what they have in store. Changing the park around on a regular basis? Five new features? Maintaining features more regularly? This year might be the year for KB's park. Im stoked!
