Official Holiday Valley / Kissing Bridge Thread

yesss. I'm heading down with a couple friends and I know some people coming up from the peek area. So woo!!
 
Holiday valley is getting dumped on right now. It appeared in the webcams that they made a little snow on Mardi Gras because there was a white path not being melted by the rain like the rest of the hill. Glad the system is working and ready for use.
 
They had a lake effect warning. They made snow at one point on top of mardi gras. Wait for the snow to melt today and tomorrow and check the cams. There is a base it appears

I don't think anyone was filming and Bob(phatman owner) only got shots of snerberders. So that was kind of lame. And everyone left like 45 minutes in to it so they could go hike holiday lol. Still fun though. I hope pictures get put up at some point.

It was still kind of muddy at holiday but there was a large supply of snow to clean skis on haha so it was all good

I feel like they only need 3 solid cold nights in a row to get a slope or 2 open by black Friday, and it's looking good i think.
 
Does anyone happen to know anyone at Snowflake Ski Shop who can see to it that my skis/bindings don't take 3 weeks to get mounted? lmao. Not trying to miss opening day because my skis are sitting in the shop...

Not going to hate on the snowmakers because they are fantastic, but it takes more than 2 nights in the 20s to open up a few trails. Also considering it going to be almost 50 all week after Wednesday it will probably just melt. Id say december 5th will be opening day for the yodeler quad.

i think they can open by friday for sure. There will be on and off snowmaking opportunities for the next ~5 days, so them getting enough snow out by that time won't be a problem. i think they are gonna go for opening, theres like a winter fest in ellicotville this weekend and holiday valley makes no money without skiing and summer activities.
 
If Holiday opens and snowflake isn't finished mounting my bindings I'm going to be fucking angry.
 
i just saw their snapchat story, and not only did they get dumped on but they are pumping out snow too. We are going to be skiing within the next week, i guarantee it.

Just mount them yourself. It's pretty easy and shops charge way to much for that anyways.

Also I am so pumped!!!!!

whats wrong with that? I meant holiday valley personally said it will open on the 5th. If they open this weekend then they give up snow making on saturday which is a very important day since it has excellent temperatures. You would thank them later.

Because I had no idea it would take so long and that it would be so expensive. and I didn't want to drive an hour and a half away. Mostly because I'm an idiot.

It start at the 10th, apparently they told my friend the 2nd. Then yesterday my friend called, idk what she said to them but now my skis will be done tomorrow night. And idk about opening day. I heard the 15th and someone in here said the 5th. I hope the 5th...

Well if they are mounted by tomorrow night your all set regardless of when opening day is, so that's wicked! as to opening day I hope its soon, I need to ski.

Ya but R2R will be sweet and they probably have an unreal base, they opened on my birthday, which was oct 18 lol.
 
anyone gonna be hiking holiday valley this weekend? it doesn't look good for snow right now, but hopefully sunday there will be enough as long as they make snow saturday
 
If anyone wants, tomorrow from 5-8pm we're waxing skis/boards at UB for free. Its open to everyone, even if you aren't in Schuss/go to school here!! hit me up if you want more info on it!
 
If HV opens soon I'm coming up from cleveland. I really, really hate HV, they can't set up a feature to save their life, but it is literally the only skiing that could be open within a 4-5 hr radius of me.
