Official Holiday Valley / Kissing Bridge Thread

Big surprise that hv fucked up the quarterpipe but whatever. Hopefully the park stays good into April.

just didnt like the song. the filming was pretty good! editing is in the small things like color correction and clean cuts. Skiing was good too guys. Keep editing and you'l get better

I enjoyed watching this. Bummed I haven't been out skiing for a while, although i ended my season skiing in BC. I liked what they changed up in the park too, Nice job Austin.

Holiday is open this weekend, it will be the last weekend that the lifts will be running. The park lift isn't running but it's hikeable and it's fun as hell. I'm gonna guess that spring session will be not this upcoming weekend but the next one after that.

Closing day at hv yesterday was fun, radio ron went hard. Word is peek is gonna have a rail jam memorial day. 1000th post aye

Has anybody heard that holiday is going to have the park on morning star next season? I heard that rumor . . .

Pat Morgan is gone! I'd been hearing about the morning star park throughout the year and maybe now with him gone it will happen.

what happened to him?

No one really knows, apparently he just left. He did a great job managing hv's social media and he was a pretty nice guy to us park rats but he didn't manage the parks too well. Hopefully hv hires a new manager and fires the current park crew because they don't do shit.

I never met Pat, so i don't know about him but that would be fucking sick to have a park on morning star. I've wanted this for quite some time now. And having a chair/ couples of runs devoted to park would be dope.

Hope this rumour holds true and happens next season.

I've always believed the morning star area would be perfect for a few parks. Cram them all in the area and have one chairlift for them. Perfection

From the little bit I've known him, i can agree exactly.

I think his shortcoming was mostly in that HV never held him/the park in general to a set standard. They just gave him a paycheck and made sure the parks were open and not many people were getting hurt, so it was easy to slack off, whip up a park good enough for management, and go on weekend vacations (according to his instagram) all mid season.

Sorry for the dub post. Right In the middle of the season when hv held the usasa slope style on snoozer, 6 kids got hurt which included 2 concussions. 3 broken ribs, a broken arm, and one broken leg (those may not be the exact body parts I'm just giving you an idea). After these injuries occurred they had to close down the comp for a couple hours and redo the whole course. The whole year was a shit show like this so I'm glad he is out.

Pretty crazy to hear that Pat's gone. While the park may not have always been real sick, the dude would work miracles with getting events and stuff to come to HV.

If KB is any kind of example, a new park manager probably won't do much. They get stoked and motivated for a while, but eventually the bureaucracy shuts down all the cool ideas they have.

It would be real sick if HV got a dope park next year, so hopefully it does work out!

^ya pat was a chill dude? FOR ANYONE WHP WANTS THE PARK ON MORNINGSTAR NEXT YEAR HERE YOU GO...

I've heard that there are talks about moving the park to morning star next year and I think that is a fantastic idea. Morning star is not as steep as foxfire and therefore would be a better spot to set up the park. Morning star is also tucked away and with the park riders using the morning star chair mostly there will be less clutter and disruption over near the Mardigras and Cindy's chair. Another benefit of the park being on morning star would be the high speed chair. The increased chair speed would increase the amount of laps the park riders get and would therefore increase the talent of the park riders. This has been a dream of many of the park riders and park crew workers for multiple years now. If you guys could make this happen that would be amazing. Thank you for your time.

This is what I sent to holiday. If you have some time on your hands type up your own draft but at least copy and paste this and send it to them. Thanks bros, hopefully we can get this done.

Idk if you got to check out Peekn Peak this year but it was sick and keeps getting better with the new owners giving the park crew, who are our age, basically freedom to make what they wanted. They had REAL pride in the park at peek. After a new build I would come up and all the park crew guys would ask everyone their opinions on the new build and stuff. From what I've seen it starts at the top and the park crew needs to have pride instead of being held to a standard. They should went their park so good people brag about it. Like I am with Peek

A park right on Morning Star would be awesome- its a nice wide run that has a consistent pitch, east facing so the landings get some sun, and serviced by a high speed quad. + + +

I remember the 06' and 07' seasons when the parks were in that area. There were a few rails and small jumps on fiddler's elbow and the main park was on moon shadow (now home to the boardercross course). The parks were meh. The top of fiddlers elbow was so flat that you had to skate into the rails and for some reason moon shadow always seemed a little sketchy... possibly because the run was a tad narrow and features were awkwardly spaced.

Rumor has it Pat accepted a job with Burton. He was a super chill dude, and like smuffy said, he always brought killer events to the valley. Gatorade free flow, Line traveling circus, red bull butter cup,and loads of jams. He will definitely be missed.

My question is what is going to happen with Spring Sessions now that he is gone? It has long been one of my favorite traditions at the Valley, and it would be a shame to lose it.

Yeah, he's their event's coordinator I guess, which is a pretty big step up from park manager, so good for him. And for spring sessions, maybe the rest of the park crew will throw something together.

I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure that holiday took the rails out of the park and out them all at the top of fox for the year.

I've rode in valleys parks once this year. It was so icey and hardpacked I left and havent skied the park since. Don't get me wrong, valley is awesome for overall riding, however people that say that their parks are superior to peeks, especially this year, have a serious warped perception, Two skiers from HV, i won't name names, were hating on peeks parks during that comp. I just LOL'ed because I was just at valley earlier that week and it was a shit show, In other words hows KB looking right now?

Hey now! I never once hated on peeks park - Love Mikey

I'm thinking for next season I am going to get more into filming and may try to put together a WNY type edit for the talent who ski HV, Peek and KB. I'd even be down for urban setups and meetups.I mean we all live within a few hours of eachother and I think its deff a possibility if anyone is down. A "WNY kids got skill" type of edit. Oh and Mikey did you ever land that flip off that box because that was insane!!

Heard Chris Perks might take over but that's just from word of mouth and may not have any truth to it. Regardless tho if Perks took over HVs parks it would be a gift from god. They would be awesome!
