i seriously am not biased and kind of didnt like ronaldo for his antics, but i sort of became a fan today.

he is always there and his teammates can pass the ball to him. he fights for every header in midfield. had the dirtiest shirt of all 22 players.

yeah he cries a lot for fouls and stuff, but ALL players on the field did that today.

but on the other hand, i am pretty sure that this was his career defining moment. there is this game that was winnable and 1 world class individual moment could have made the difference. he wasnt playing bad, but people will point to this game for a long time and say "he is not the best player in the world because he didnt win this game".

and his antics, like it or not, but its entertainment. like when the camera zooms in on his steps on the freekicks, his tricks in completely unnecessary situations. its entertainment.
 
like every shot he took went way over, except the free kicks. antics asid, he is better than that and definitely could have scored or led to a goal.
 
Yeah, but they were playing Spain. Spain isn't exactly a team without it's fair share of bitching and diving...

Either way, aside from all the things he does good, he's still obnoxious as fuck for his 12 year old acting.

ive never liked him but he is just so sick and fun to watch, you can't deny his skill and like you said he's a lot of entertainment. if there were 10 ronaldos on the field it would be INSANE

fucking retarded to have him in spot 5 for PKs, that was just stupid
 
Tonight my betting is on Pirlo, if he is half as amazing as he was against England all will be well.

I will make no predictions seeing as this far as nearly all have been wrong. I honestly wish both could lose, but we will see.
 
didn't bother to watch yesterday, Spain were too boring in their first two games for me to continue. I really hope Germany smash them in (if they beat Italy).

what do people think of Beckham not making the Olympic squad for Great Britain? good riddance for me. Beckham for me has always been decidedly average. never came close to winning with England, couldnt hack it at Madrid playing with R9 and Zidane for fuck sakes. then pisses off to MLS with his hooker wife for a big pay day. sure he played with "passion" but when you're technically shite you have no choice.
 
He still was not good against England.. though today is a new day. And I cant remember what game it was in group play but he missed a lot of chances in another one too.

 
I'm laughing so hard at all the kids in this thread that said Italy couldn't attack. I still think Germany can come back in this. We could be in for an epic finish.
 
oh I totally agree, it just seemed like you were using that as an argument against his studlyness.
