Official Big Sky/ Moonlight thread

ben i wouldnt ski if i were you you def dont wana have more problems its best to just wait even tho it sucks! you could fall doin the simplest shit and possibly end your season all together

yeah he told me i can ski, just to take it easy. im thinking just going down a groomer and chilling in swifty park with a camera is pretty safe lol.

its pretty dang easy to catch an edge tho, or lose your balance in a way that makes you throw your arm up for stability. I re-fucked my shoulder nollie-ing (sp?) a little roller in moonlight

for sure. i wont be doing anything for a few weeks. i just doubt im gonna make it 6 weeks with NO skiing whatsoever

nothing. its not my ac joint its my sc. its where your collarbone connects to your sternum. i go back in 6 week though, they might give me exercises then.

Hey Kevin go skiing on Saturday and take the 8 o clock bus like a real man.

And I have decided I am going to steal your Reno Rockers.

ahhh. yeah they havent really given me anything. but im allowed to use the arm, as long as i dont raise it above my head, because thats when it pops out. other than that i can use it all i want.

swifty park goes:

short down rail

longer down rail

4 foot worthless flat rail

down flat (almost a down-up)

2 different urban on flat rails

the old lift tower set up as a side kink to the right

super lippy 15 foot ish table

corrugated flat rail or 25 foot ish table

wall ride

and then at the bottom you have a choice of down box, down rail, or down flat down rail

after that you have a choice of up rail to butter pad (snowboarders only pretty much) or jump with a 5 foot deck or flat box.

then quarter pipe with a pipe on top

I really hope it snows this weekend. If it doesn't, maybe I'll head over to moonlight or something, because all the boarders will be in the PBRJ

Nice, i think i will make it up there for that.. that should be fun.. on a snowboard though, have to wait till my bindings get here, busted them last sunday in the park.. it was a nice one ski ride down. haha

i think he meant today. It was pretty damn hard. But heres an update on the newest big sky park things:

The park at the bottom of swifty is being taken apart. all of the rails were dug up and the down-flat-down was sitting at the top of the main swifty park but not set up, along with another flat box. The swifty park at the bottom still has the flat box, the down box, the down rail, and the up rail sitting in a pile so i'm not sure what is going to happen with that. Perhaps something new and neato

dan says theres plans for some boxes in swifty so im guessing they are all moving up there.

me too. but i did first gully on monday, and it was pretty hideous. bumpy, icy, rocky. guess today is a groomer/ drinking day!

big sky actually did read those surveys they sent to all their season passholders

Hi Benjamin,

Thank you for taking the time to share with Big Sky Resort your feedback from the skier survey. We sent the survey to every season passholder and Frequent Sky guest in the spirit of learning what you think, and how we can serve you better. Thanks for being a Big Sky passholder!

I’m sorry that we have disappointed you with the decisions regarding the Ambush park offerings. We do recognize the growth in Park riding and want to be a part of it. Park riders are some of the most passionate guests we have in our sport. Our Park Crew is dedicated to providing the best possible progression we can, given our current resources. Swifty 2.0 was one way we felt we could increase our early season offerings. We will continue to add to Swifty as snow allows.

We are also rebuilding Swifty 2.0 at this time. So look for some fresh offerings there this weekend.

I understand that none of this replaces the pipe or bigger jumps that were on Ambush and again for that I do apologize.

Jut confirmed out trip out 3/6-3/13. Can't wait - it's been a couple years. :) Probably a couple days at MLB, one at BS, and if there's any new snow, one at BB.

Skied with Kip today...Found some knee deep stashes over off Challenger and the stuff on Otter Slide off the tram was super sick.

New happenings at the sky, the down round bar and dfd round bar from lower swifty are now in upper swifty, skiers left of the jumps. Lower swift has a box line of the long down box and then 2 flat boxes, and two very small jumps and the quarter/stall is still at the bottom.

Looks like a solid chance between now and thursday for some snow. Big Sky's park crew needs to get those rail jam features back in the park. Moonlight park is pretty fun, they just keep adding a feature every now and then. They took that wide box that had a road barrier for a lip to get onto it out and made a up box to 2 foot gap, to wide down box.

So is swifty park pretty much gonna be swifty park for the rest of the

year or is there even talk of them doing much else? I remember hearing

they were thinking about putting another jump in between the two they have now?

probably just hosh posh though.

and do you think they will have the

features from the rail jam back up in the park by wednesday?

I have lost all hope for it snowing again...Let the spring park seshes commence.

Or I hope it dumps over Spring break.

Lower Swifty is getting some work done. First feature is now the bike rack looking down rail, then either the small jump that was already there, up rail, or down box, next they put in a pole that has a plastic barrel on top of it for bonks off the last jump, and last will be what looks like a really wide quarter pipe. the line of flat boxes is still there as well. They also put in a small jump in upper swifty and a reall long down rail next to the last jump. Maybe like 30 feet long, and its like a 6 inch wide round bar.

Round bar is suuuper sticky still at the end because of the red paint that still hasn't been chipped off.

but the jumps are soo sick...Bottom jump is really smooth.
