The flyers have only been in it this long, thanks to Biron playing outstanding, and Umberger somehow putting the puck in the net. Philly has played 2 teams with 2 shitty goalies. The Flyers are grittier, but the difference is, that the grittier guys on the pen's 3rd and 4th lines can actually score. In my opinion, theres just too much talent on the pens for Philly to contain. It's gonna be a good series, but Philly isn't designed to take on the pens. Unlike Washington or Montreal, the Penguins have 2 extremely solid scoring lines, and a goaltender that is playing the best hockey of his career. Penalties could really kill the flyers. Roberts, Laraque, and Rutuu will keep the intensity up.
And all of this "diving" garbage is getting a little ridiculous as well. Take a number and get in line with everyone else that has been on the penguins nuts about it lately. The fact of the matter is, STAR PLAYERS DRAW PENALTIES. Guys like Malkin and Crosby are constantly skating through traffic trying to make a play. They don't like to play dump and chase hockey. They cut to the net, split the defense etc. When you're constantly moving your feet, cutting hard, stopping on a dime, you go down easier than others. Jagr drew a ton of penalties again the pens in the series. The pens just have a really good PK and the rangers shit the bed on every powerplay. But I couldn't help but laugh when the entire rangers bench was bitching about diving, when Tyutin litterally took is hand off his stick, grabbed crosby's shoulder and threw him to the ground.
Honestly, it's hard to stop them without taking a pentalty. I was a defenseman when I played in highschool. One of our big rival schools, had this winger that was insanely good. He was having a bad game if he scored 3 goals. It was so hard to maintain body position on him, and check the puck off him without accidentally hooking or tripping him. And if you didn't play hard he basically put the moves on you and made you look like you've never skated before. I sat in the box at least once every game because of him.
Pens in 5.
