Well, the GDI stereotype, and let me emphasize it's a stereotype and more more accurate than the greek stereotype, is basically like the dudes who put on costumes and go larp on the lawns around campus.

Again note that this is clearly not how all non-greeks act, much in the way that all greeks are not Jimmy Tatro.

But if we're getting technical, if you're in college and a non-greek then you would fit the definition of GDI. And I'm not saying that in a derogatory sense.
 
Not really. Like I said previously, I'm completely neutral on the whole frat/sorority thing. I really don't care. It just annoys me when guys in frats think they're the only ones who know how to have a good time. When I was an undergrad I met a fun kid in one of my classes and he asked me what frat I was in because he just assumed I was in a frat. When I told him I wasn't in a frat he asked me what in the world I did on weekends. That stereotype just annoys me. You don't have to be in a frat to have a sick time on weekends. My friends and I threw down parties just as big as the frats at my school on a monthly or biweekly basis. And I know because in the beginning of my freshman year I went to a variety of frat parties at my school to check it out and because I didn't know of anything else yet. I also know of a lot of kids that didn't even take the time to meet people outside of the frat scene and just assumed that was the only way to have a good time.

I understand every school is different and my experiences at my school may be different than yours.
 
You've been in college for one month. You have NO room to start calling people uninformed and talking about defeating stereotypes. You probably joined the first frat that tickled your balls and gave you a free shot during rush week.

He speaks the truth. Frat life in Utah is close to the worst.

However, I do know some pretty cool kids who went Phi Delta. Although 8 out of those 9 friends all turned into massive douchebags.

And not just at my school, but at my friend's schools, and at the Universities back home in San Francisco too.

Your guys are for the most part chill though. Although I'd never drink the punch.

I always found that totally lame. Lambda Chi had "associate membership" instead of pledging. But we still called and treated them like pledges.
 
President of Sigma Alpha Epsilon at the University of Pittsburgh. Best decision of my college career, possibly life. Neither side of this argument can truly see the other's perspective, and it's nearly possibly to explain. I have never met a person that has regretted going greek though.

it's funny because the thread isn't about if PSU greek life being better than Pitt greek life... why don't you point out the non-greek tailgate at either school that's better than ours.
 
No one said thats what the thread was about. I was just pointing out the obvious I guess. I cant have an opinion, are you another greek lifer that gets butt hurt over someone's opinion..? yes.

I dont remember tailgating much and I never really took pictures so I guess I cant prove anything. I will say though that your tailgate does look like it was a lot of fun!

PSU tailgating isnt confined to a small area like that which keeps people in and makes it look extremely crowded. You tailgate in large fields and open parking lots at PSU not fenced in ones.
