More privileges for cult masters, so they dont always have to be messaging mods to delete things that they otherwise will never see.

Search bar, like has been said, make it way steezier.

Make more pics/vids of the month/week and other stuff more prominent, the other stuff can get bumped down a bit.

Some way to get a forum for discussing ski equipment and selling/buying it. Its hard to get a question answered when its surrounded by FS/FT threads, just cut down on the clutter.

The number of members in a cult, it doesnt work. It needs to go down when somebody quits, not just up. Maybe a "last post at..." thing next to cults on the listing, so you dont join a dead cult.

 
Simply, make the searchbar better:

- Be able to search two words not next to each other and actually get results

- Be able to search within one particular forum

- Searchbar in forums, of course

- Be able to have options such as number of replies, date created, etc, and actually be able to put them into one order or another.

- More than 50 results..please?
 
I think that it would be such a pain in the ass. Everyone would get them and it would take long for all of them to load and just take up unnessary space.
 
Dear Mr. Bishop!

I think it would be fantastic if you hired a crew of 1 or 2 people that can work together for your video coverage of events. This way you have consistency in Quality, and know you'll have a decent video for every comp. As well as a few contracted photographers on board again to ensure quality. These days when speaking to the Freeskier crew they always say they are a more legit news source. I'd have to agree with that assesment, I think Ethan has taken on alot this year and improved the Media/Coverage/Words for the events by 200%. But the next step in my opinon would be a Production Crew consistenly working with you guys all over the country filming NS events, and Events. Again not a whole slew of people all over the place, but a 2-3 man production team. Everything on the web is about podcasts, and all over Itunes. Think of how you could add to the site, it would give you so much more to do if there was a constant income of Media that viewers will acutally want to see on an almost daily basis even in the summer! Just my 2 cents!

 
oops meant to say that i disagree w/ that quote that you always here from Freeskier. But NS could use more consistency! My mistake!
 
I made a thread on this a few months back. Auto image resize and compression on upload.

So people can load an image of any size from their computer and the site automatically compresses and resizes it to a set value.

I think that would save people a lot of trouble. I know ColdFusion does it and its very easy to program.
 
for cults when people wanna get in, have them send a request to get in rather then having to have the cult mod type in the whole name and send the invite... i think if you can just push a join cult request button that a mod can approve or deny thattd be alot easier

NS archives... pages with NS history and posts by year... like ex click a link that says 2001 and itll bring up posts from 01

it dosent really have to do with the site, but there has been discussion of this before have the ns braclets caseu that would be sick and have it like the stickers mail away for them with like 5 bucks in the envlope. and maybe even t-shrits.

 
Make a preview for a thread when you click a button or something. Also make the home and home mountain selectable so people can find other people in their area.
 
Oh yea and also the message window needs to be seperate from the profile. You should also be able to see previous messages while you're typing the present one.
 
You can do this with PHP too. It's not too bad, i just did it last week.

But, for a site as big as NS... it could take up a lot of processor time constantly shrinking everyone's 5 megapixel images.
 
ooh good thinking. I didnt think of that. Whenever I program that its never an issue of whether or not there would be enough bandwidth/processor power. That would deffinately take some juice
 
I too don't want to see NS turn into facebook, but it may be worth it to be able to see how many times your post has been quoted in a thread.
 
ya song title thing in the videos will be so helpful and sick, and i also like the idea about the whole search for people in your area thing

i dunno if it's been said, but having a last date used thing on cults, so you know which ones are dead.
 
Might have been said, but....

A sort of little My Threads look alike, that shows threads in which you have been quouted, cause thats all I really care about.
 
i already mentioned this in the donators site suggestions

but i think it would be bomb if when you clicked on a persons profile.. or in the PM box you had an option to click like INVITE THIS PERSON TO A CULT, and you would click on it.. and it would give a list of all cults you had the ability to invite people into and you could just click the one u would want the invite sent to a person

i get a ton of invites for build a jib/ladies men and i never send any because i am way to lazy and its such a pain in the ass to scroll down like 1000 members just to get to the invite member box
 
here's my idea for the "edit" button:

personally i think you should totally make one.

it would probably the best if you could edit your posts just until sombody replies afterwards. therefore you cant change prices, edit your own stupid comments; for which you got flamed afterwards etc.

it would help in cases of typos, pictures not showing up, forgotten details in a post etc.

i hope this is understandable. i am german, so my english isnt perfect.

and sorry for the bold, but i wanted this to be seen.


 
company fourms where you can dicuss certain companys, maybe a spellcheck thing that told you RIGHT AWAY if you spelled something wrong.
 
i vote for NS tv...and quick chat

also make gear swap more active along with reviews (like when you go into ski equipment ) you have 3 tabs like you have with Main forums/camp forums/cult forums but with Reviews/Ski Swap and Ski Equipment discussion
