I still don't get it man. $500 for a piece is a lot of money. If I'm smoking a $500 piece, I want it to load itself, light itself, clean itself, and put itself away. Otherwise, it's overpriced imo.
 
If your a casual smoker then yes its a waste of money but if you smoke alot and like to get the best out of your hits its well worth it. Its like any other product, cars, skis, etc. If you enjoy it enough you will spend more on it.

Yeah my buddy has a $1,000 Illadelph that has this crazy gel filled coil in the middle of it that you can take out and put in the freezer to get super smooooth hits. Best part is his mom bought it for him because he has a scrip for a legit reason so she really does consider it taking his medicine. He told her the cooling thing would make it healthier for his lungs or something. Gotta love Palmdale haha.

Who makes that downstem? I assume its 18 but its shortness looks great. My 18mm downstem is too long and it looks dumb. How do you like your ice pinch slide?
 
The diffuser is a regular toro one and it does a pretty good job. I'm probably going to order an Alex K showerhead off bitfreak though. They're supposed to have the most diffusion with the least drag. The ice pinch slide helps airflow a lot but you can really only rip smaller packs out of it.
 
yeah i was gonna get an alex K off bitfreak too but all the ones they have are too long, shitty work, or too expensive. All the mike fro's on bitfreak are 6" long too. The basic black tip alex K's are way more expensive than showmeglass.com but all showmeglass has is 14mm and all my fav shit is 18mm. aaarrrrgggghhhh why do they make it so hard to collect glass!!!!!!!

I have an $800 Syn. Showercap/4arm showerhead. It's stemless and it rips like a champ. I just got into the glass scene but I'm already looking at new pieces. And OP: SG > Toro

The toro prodo work that JP puts out isn't at all the same as his worked stuff (which is far higher quality), plus Toro outsources their trees to zob, or they did. Even still though, your Toro is sick, and I bet it rips like a champ. Are you over on BG, TC, or FMB? I'm on FMB and GD under the name hydrophilic. I'll post some pics of my Syn later if I remember.

Once you hit high end glass you will never go back, it's a different experience at the very least. too bad it's just do damn expensive. OP is right about China glass being shitty as fuck. Fuck supporting head shops with shit like that.

people spend money on their hobbies. I get that. what I don't get is what makes a piece worth $500 or $1,000. one guy said you'll spend that much if you want to get the "most out of your hits". However, you don't get any higher off of a $500 piece than you do a $200 piece. so what makes it "worth" it? other than just buying a name...?...? (let's exclude the gel coiled thing someone was talking about. i understand that would be a little more)
